All black Outfit + Combat boots and reminding us of God's special Love

n all black outfit is the easiest to put together; just pull textures in different fabrics like leather, lace or knits like I did here in a previous post or put on an all black outfit and accessorize with fun accessories like I did here in this post. You won't believe it guys, I wore this outfit to Church on a Sunday! 😀 I was surprised myself too!! If you know me, I like to dress up real girlie for Church with stiletto pumps and all that on Sundays but I don't mind a casual look for the Wednesday, mid-week services. So, on this particular Sunday, I wanted to wear a different look; the snow was starting to melt and everywhere outdoors was all wet and slushy so I decided to wear my new pair of combat boots blogged about here.

Leopard Prints Sandals + Red belt bag

So, the leopard prints trend seems not to be going anywhere and I have got no problem with it. The style or trend is more interesting this season because it is being styled in fresh new ways than it has ever been; beautiful clothing pieces with great silhouettes, draping, blazers, pants, dresses...Another styling trend is the different hue or shades of the print. I like white color leopard prints trend like the blazer I wore in my previous post here and the calf hair pumps I wore in this post  here. For this look, I combined two trends; a pair of calf hair sandals; an old purchase from Macys and a belt bag which is actually a DIY piece. I tucked in the straps into the bag, left the bag open and sneaked it behind a red belt I used to cinch my waist then shut the bag close with the clasp. I took some pictures of the process and would do a post on it some other time. My aim on this blog from now on is to share more money saving tips and affordable fashion. Can I say again that this off white blazer was thrifted years ago? The turtle neck short sleeve sweater is an old purchase from Nordstrom and a similar style is currently on sale for 50% at Boohoo.

Big dots, small dots + Bermuda Shorts

Hi Friends, happy Tuesday; this is a quick post here showing one of the polka dots outfits I wore during the summer. This is a very casual look and it is a mix of old and new items from my closet. The polka dots blouse is an old purchase from T. J. Maxx and the bermuda shorts is an old closet staple. I mixed the old items with my new pair of white kitten mules from Target and this pvc bucket bag from Shein. White shoes are now the new neutrals and white mules worn in the summer would transition to white ankle boots in the fall and winter. This big and small polka dots on this blouse that look like some kind of splatter is a twist on the polka dots trend. Again, I look forward to wearing this trend into fall and I'm loving this sweater here. I wish you a blessed rest of the week and thanks so much for stopping by here.

Polka dots blouse + High waist pants

Are we tired of the polka dots trend yet? I don't think so. This trend is going right through fall and even if goes away, it will show up again as it has done in previous years. This is the reason why I have so many polka dots pieces in my closet. I wore this blouse to church weeks ago and it is similar to the one I wore here, just a different color. For this look, I paired it with a black color high waist paints which is.....*shhhh* actually a maternity pant. Yup! It is one of my maternity pants I got from Target years ago that I converted to a high waist pants and I didn't even have to do any alterations to it. I completed the look with a black blazer and white pair of sandals; as simple as can be. Don't you love it when you are able to wear old pieces from your closet? Thank you so much of stopping by here.

Shoelovin' - White Pointy toe Mule Pumps

The shoe that is the topic of our shoe loving' post today is this Gianvito Rossi pointed toe mule pumps in white color. The pumps are super chic and edgy and can take any casual outfit to a high level of classy. It can be worn with dresses, skirts or denim and the white color stands out in a very good way. This design or shoe trend is super popular this summer and somewhat mimics the white boots trend we had last winter. Another stylish thing is that a lot of retailers have taken this design into mainstream and you can get a similar pair at most fashion retailers at any price point. My ruffled floral green summer dress

So, I have had this dress for years; purchased it from TJ Maxx but have only worn it a couple of times because I thought it was shapeless and unflattering. Fast forward to this season and this style of dress is trending; yes trending and I am here for it. I love dresses and I believe dresses are feminine and chic and whether they are floral, printed, plain, maxi, midi, there is a dress for every occasion. What is unique thing about this style of dress is the light fabric and the free flowing style and the small ruffles which can be on the dress bodice, at the hem or all over. It is great for spring and summer and for vacation to a warm location. I styled it with white pumps to add some contrast and white pumps are also the new neutrals. My ring purse is almost invisible against the dress but I'm sure you can still see it. I hope you are having a great week so far. Thanks a lot for stopping by.

one more way to style denim on denim

Happy Tuesday everyone 😆 I hope the week started off great for you; mine has been beautiful so far. This is a quick post to show another way the denim on denim trend can be styled. I admit it is somewhat an outdated trend or let's just say it is a trend that never gets out of style but rather just stays in the background to be picked up anytime. So, I was styling this pastel look for the blog and I got out this denim pumps I have not worn in a while. I paired it with this color block tan sweater that I purchased from Loft a while back and ankle denim pants. the first choice would have been to pair tan color pumps with this outfit but the denim pumps added some interest to it. if you are tired of the

How to style a white dress for New Year Dinner

Hello everyone; just a few hours to the new year; can you believe it? I promised to show a couple New Year looks on the blog and this is just a quick post here. I know we are all busy trying to put in the last preparation for new year dinners, parties and family gatherings. it is definitely a good time to reflect and give thanks to God almighty for all He has done and giving thanks mean thanking God for everything; both good and bad knowing that all things work together for good to them that love God, who live according to his purpose. (Romans 8: 28)

Now unto this look; I am wearing a white "faux-two-piece" embellished dress. Yes, the

How to look glam in ten minutes for New Year's Party

So, just a quick post here; happy new year everyone 😙 While we are all getting ready for the new year and spending time with our loved ones, we shouldn't forget that it's easy to get carried away and start to splurge on new clothing and accessories that become big regrets later. This blog is all about saving money and this post is on how to get ready quickly for that new year dinner by re-styling and wearing clothes that are already in our closet.

For this look, I wore my sequin dress that I got as a gift from hubby a couple of years ago and re-styled it as a top for my pencil midi skirt. The dress would have been too short to wear on its own anyway and I remember I had worn tights underneath with thigh high boots for a different holiday party a couple of years ago. I added my sparkly drop earrings from Jcrew, a sparkly clutch from TJ Maxx, a pair black of stockings from Loft and a pair

Out of the box style: Blue gingham Skirt

I have no idea what I was thinking when I came up with the title of this post. All I know is that I'm talking about the skirt as being something different from the regular. As we know, "gingham prints" has been trending for a while but we will have to admit that the classic white and black gingham prints is the most common, This is why I was delighted to find this cobalt blue gingham prints at Target. It sold out pretty fast too. The only con about the skirt is that the fabric is really, really light. I wish the fabric was a little bit more durable and thick then, it would just be perfect, I'm aware that this color is common in pajamas and I even saw pillows online in this dark blue color but hey! it is gingham; the fabric is supposed to be table cloth for picnic tables anyway

Velvet blazer + Floral Pumps

Happy Monday everyone; I hope the new week is going great. I'm just going to do a quick post on what I wore to Church yesterday; this burgundy color velvet blazer paired with black tie-neck blouse and black denim trouser. Yeah, this pants are really denim and very, very comfy and I like them a lot because they can pass for dress pants. The blazer does have a lot of fashion roles to play in this outfit. First of all, it adds a pop of color to the outfit, secondly

How to style: Plaid Skirts for work.

                                                               Plaid Skirt
                                        Styling inspiration...

So, while plaid blazers have been trending for a while now, I am thinking of plaid skirts and have been on the hunt for one. The plaid skirts I have seen so far online always look more like gingham prints than plaid and so I decided to include one in this styling post. The first look above with the blue plaid skirt is a summery look because it was paired with a white sleeveless blouse and a pair of chic Pumps. The second set below is styled for Fall because of the darker colors and the chic sock boots. The secret or tip for styling plaid skirts is to keep every other clothing item like the top, blouse and accessories simple. Happy styling.

Red oversized sweater and Plaid Pants

I have a couple of plaid prints pieces in my closet that are a different twist to the current bold plaid prints that is trending right now. It is "tiny-teenie" plaid prints that you have to quint to see. I believe if I had a better camera, you would be able to see what I mean through the pictures. This is a subtle way of doing a trend if you do not want to be that obvious. For example, if you work in a conservative or very formal work place and you want to wear trending fashion to work, this is the best way to do it. Go for a simple nod to the trendy as opposed to being very obvert. The best color to pair with this color of plaid prints is red. They just go together nicely. For this look, I wore

Plaid Paper bag Pants + a Sweater

Happy Monday Friends 😙 So, this is just a quick work wear post of one of my favorite colors to wear in the Fall; grey. This time, I decided to style the color in two of the season's trends; plaid prints and paper-bag pants. I always like it when I can fit two trends seamlessly into an outfit effortlessly. When done right, it gives a very clean and polished look. If you get the styling wrong, there is that perception that you are trying too hard or as some would call it, you are a "trend...wh--e" or "label...wh--e;" without spelling out the whole word. The trick to achieving this look (two-trends-in-one) starts right from when you do your shopping. Always look out for that piece that can serve multiple functions or that accessory that can be styled in different ways. When you get that one piece

Corn Fest Outfit

Just got done doing my chores for the day and getting ready for bed and giving side glances to the TV  at the same time. The Emmys is going on right now but I do not plan to stay up for it; I need my beauty sleep; quite a funny show though...:-).

I wore this outfit to my city's corn fest recently and might post the full post soon. I'm also working on my quarter blog summary. A very big thanks to all who stop by to share this space with me. I love to write and I love to share my views and opinion and I am so glad that you take a minute out of your time to read my posts. Thanks so much. I love you.

Green and Polka Dots

Hi everyone, I hope we all had a great weekend. Mine was super eventful; details later..:-). I chose to wear this emerald green cropped pants blogged about here today and I must say I got quite a surprise. The last time I wore them, they were cropped pants and had a nice fit but today, they became all baggy. You know that's good right? That means "yours Sincerely" is losing some weight!..:-). And also, I think I purchased the pants during my first trimester last year and they fit perfectly then. Another reason could also be that the pants ran higher than the usual size. I didn't want to change them out today for something else because I was just captivated by the cool green color and soft fabric but I know it's definitely going for some alteration.

I debated about just wearing a plain black blouse over it then opted for this sheer polka dots blouse. The green vintage necklace which the pictures didn't do justice completed the look. My butterfly ring was a last minute add-on and I have no idea why I slipped it on but it sure took my mind way back. My butterfly ring has been with me since my early days of blogging and it's still here; ever faithful. I lost it a couple of times and recovered it each time somehow. It is very similar to my relationship with God. No matter how far away I wander, he's always there waiting with open arms. He's ever ready to listen and always quick to forgive anyone.

It's a Skirt; No, it's a pair of pants; No, it's denim on denim.

Hi Friends; I feel so excited sharing this post because I am so happy and relaxed. I had a very entertaining time with my kids this evening and this whole blog post was a family collaboration. I got back from work today and wanted to take the kids  to the park but was a little tired so I decided to just spend some time with them outdoors. When I was looking for something casual and comfy to wear, I thought "why not do a denim on denim look?"
I reached for this old skirt of mine which I really think is the statement piece in the whole outfit. My girls; five and three helped me to choose the accessories. My older girl picked the necklace while the younger girl picked the shoes (fashionistas in the bud) but they kept staring curiously at my outfit the whole time. "Mum, is this a skort or a skirt?" "Are you wearing Pants or skirt?" I was not so surprised that they were deceived by this skirt and I led them on by keeping the skirt tucked in between my legs and walking awkwardly around the house. You can see from the pictures below that I really did a good job deceiving them and even my seven year old son who is my new photographer (I have retired my tripod) kept asking me? "Mom, are you wearing two kinds of pants?" "What kind of skirt is this?"

I got tired of deceiving them and just burst out laughing and they saw that I was really wearing a skirt...:-). The skirt kind of looked like culottes in the pics above when I tucked them in between my legs but it's actually a very cool denim midi skirt. My other denim shirt that I wore here was a little too dark for the look I was going for so, I used this chambray shirt instead. So, is this the season denim on denim trend? Or, is this just chambray on denim? Chambray, denim, what's the difference? We didn't care so much but we had some fun outdoors with the kids scribbling on the porch and running around and me just excited that they had all provided their valuable input to this blog post.

Do thrift- Accessories

Bag Life

Accessories! Accessories!!  Accessories!!! So, it's time to talk about these clothing items that all women own. Bags and purses are very essential to any outfit. Some women love bags, some like jewelry and some like shoes and others just like all of them. Christian women should know that no importance or value should really be attached to these things because they are all physical or material items. Our most valuable accessory should be our bible. However, we still need these things for their basic function.

So, if you have been reading this blog  for some time you would have noticed by now that I do not pay much attention to bags and jewelry as accessories. Well, I decided recently to step up my accessory game and rather than paying hundreds of dollars on those designer brands, I took to good old thrifting.

There is this large thrift/consignment/vintage store in a little mall in my neighborhood and I have been in there before to purchase jackets but they recently remodeled the store and had a huge clearance sale. On the first day of the sale, the store was full of people and stylists who ran around trying to pick items for customers. There were also beautifully styled mannequins everywhere to give inspiration to those who needed it. I am not a fashion stylist or expert but also didn't need the assistance of one so I went straight to the accessories department and at the end of the day, these are the items I got.

I got some colorful vintage messenger bags for $6.00 a piece and also some cute purses and clutches. All the items were only slightly worn but I did give them a good wiping down with a soft cloth dipped in sanitizer when I got home. I also keep my essential knick-knacks in ziplock bags before putting them into my purses whether new or old to keep everything in place, clean and organized.

Isn't this green messenger bag  just so cute! The little speck you see at the back of the bag is just a speck of light

Grey color Rossetti messenger bag

This Steve Madden silver Clutch was $12

This gold sequin clutch is so lovely.

I really like the hardware on this cute red clutch below. The two vintage belts below cost $3.99 a piece and they really look cool. Now, I have got very cute colorful bags to dress up my outfits. Thrifting is definitely implied in the definition of a virtuous woman in the bible (Proverbs 31: 10-31) and I would want you ladies to try it out sometime. Look around in your neighborhood; there might just be a thrift or Cosignment store around the corner. Also, there is no need to splurge on high ends all the time. Remember the parable of the ten talents in the bible? (Matthew 25: 14-30). God wants us to be very wise on where and how we spend our money as christians. I know it is very important for christians to look good and well put together because the way we dress can be a way or means of sharing the goodness of Jesus Christ. As a christian woman, you can always have that very cute fashion statement at all times which make other ladies come up to you to ask; "where did you get that?" Such question can be a great conversation starter and can begin the process of giving out that invitation to come to a bible study or church meeting. The purpose of looking good as christians is not to look conceited or proud but to reflect the beauty and glory of being blessed by God. For me, this statement piece has always been shoes but now I feel like I want to start expanding my bag and jewelry collection.

So, you see, my colorful purses really didn't cost a bunch at the end of the day because they are thrift items. These might not be the bags to take to the office or that board meeting but they are bags you can take to a casual outing. You can slip your bible, phone and wallet into one and be on your way to church. Look out for these items on the blog…:-). I'm going to wear them out!!

                                                                           Vintage Jewelry

This necklace here is kind of very unique; It's magnetic because it has no closure or hooks. It just folds around your neck and the great thing about it too is that it can be also be used as a bracelet.
