Summer Wish List

ust a few things on my summer wish list to lighten the mood during this season. I'm loving this floral maxi dress from H&M  mainly because of the beautiful print and the sleeves and it sure would make for a great lounging outfit. Other things on my list are the faux plant décor and the potting vase. Plants and gardening is (are) huge trend at the moment but if you do not have a green thumb, a faux plant is an alternative to bringing life and personality to any space. This weather resistant planter would look beautiful indoors or outdoors. The pink Badgley Mischka pumps is an affordable dupe to the Manolo Blahnik Hangisi pumps which would make for great party shoes. We might not be celebrating or going to events right now but we would get to it as soon as this pandemic is over. The jewelry and nail polish are just to help us step up our beauty routine at this time. Thanks so much for reading.

Summer in my Front-tie Shirt

ዙow is everyone doing? Summer is here friends! I'm so excited about the beautiful weather though I know that this summer is one like no other; for one, there is nothing much to do with everyone being in quarantine. We all have to find ways to do the things that make us happy while we fight this pandemic. For me, writing (blogging)  is helping me a lot because it is very therapeutic for me. Also, I still try to dress up even when I am home. This outfit is what I wore recently to stay home and it's actually a DIY front-tie shirt. I took an old oversized button white shirt from the closet, knotted it in front over this pair of denim and accessorized with white square toed mules and a straw bag.

Lounge at Home Outfit: Summer Shirt Dress

ϻy lounge at home outfit this summer has been comfy, breezy dresses; linen and cotton dresses to be exact. I know knit dresses and sets are trending at the moment but if it is sunny and hot out, I would settle for a cotton or linen dress over knits. Plus, I get to wear knits a lot in the Fall and Winter time so it is nice to wear something more comfortable even if it is not trending. This lavender color J. Jill Dress fits the bill for comfort and style. It is 100% cotton and the shirt dress design and bold lavender color enhances the style. I decided to style a monochromatic look by pairing the dress with this purple square toed mules and multi color statement Earrings. How are you lounging at home? Please, be safe and well. Thanks so much for reading.

Father's Day Gift Guide

                                                   OneTwoThreeFourFiveSix

𐍆ather's Day is almost here and it is celebration and gift giving time. Things are however, a lot different this year because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Social distancing rules, enacted to stop the spread of this contagious disease does not encourage gathering of any kind so, there would be no Father's Day dates or barbecue this year. Thankfully, we can still celebrate with our loved ones that are far away from us via Zoom and conference calls. Also, the post office and other delivery services are working hard to deliver our packages. If you are looking for some unique gifts to give at this time to your spouse, significant other, Father or brother, check out my suggestions by clicking on the links.

Keeping Hope alive in my Green Floral Blouse and Denim

Ⴈ have been wearing a lot of green lately and definitely not on purpose and even if it is, it is still okay in my book because after all, green symbolizes hope. This blouse is a very old piece in my closet and usually I wear it under a blazer but the need to get some Vitamin D prompted me to wear it alone  over the denim to run errands on a hot summer day. And when I say run errands, I mean around the house; come to think of it, I haven't really gone out that much since this whole pandemic started. I do most things from home and do delivery services and shipping for other things I need to get done outside the house. I guess this is a blessing for me. I understand that there are those that really have to be out there at this time performing essential services and I pray for them and their families. I pray God to keep and guide you if you are an essential worker and  I offer prayers for us all. We've got to keep hope alive that this soon shall pass. Thank you so much for reading.

Supporting Black Businesses in style

Ꮗe all have to continually show support for black owned businesses and enterprises because the black community is going through a lot. As we all continue to engage in our community to advance equal justice for everyone, let's showcase our small businesses and lend every support we can. There are lots of black owned businesses on Etsy and other reputable platforms that we can support. Also, if you look around in your community, you can find businesses and local-non profits to support too. Below are some of my picks and if you have more to share, you can let me know in the comments. Thanks so much for visiting

Staying sane amidst the Pandemic

e have been working from home and doing almost everything from home for the past weeks and months now and if you are a mom like me who has a home to run or you live alone and have goals to achieve, you'll admit that things can get pretty overwhelming at times; from work Zoom Calls to School Google Meets to endless home deliveries of meals and house supplies, it's easy to lose focus. I for one used to be so meticulous at keeping everything organized and tidy at my home and while I have not totally ignored the importance of having an organized and clean home, I have started to shift focus and to only worry about things that are most important at the moment. So long as I keep, the dishes, floors and laundry clean, it is okay for now if the photo frame on the wall is a little dipped to the side. My goal in this post is to tell you how I manage to stay sane in my home amidst this pandemic.  I am wearing a tie-dye tee shirt dress similar here which is very comfy to lounge in at home with my square toed sandals and white denim jacket on hand incase I need to step out the door for a quick social distancing run to the store.

Summer in style: Graphic Tees

ऽo, we all know all that has been going on in the United States this summer and no, I am not talking about Covid 19, the ongoing pandemic. I am talking about the protests and civil unrest following the murder of George Floyd by a Minneapolis police Officer. The incident happened here in my city and really hits home for me. I know the whole world was enraged at what happened and rightly so. We all have to condemn evil when we see it. We can all lend our voices to this national dialogue but must do it in a peaceful and civil way. I have not been able to attend a peaceful protest but can lend my voice and support to a peaceful dialogue. While you think of other ways in joining this national dialogue to end Police brutality and Racism, you can enjoy these looks I put together here. Thanks so much for reading.
