I am very excited for Christmas which is just two days away and I am also excited about this knit dress which I got from Lulus. It is one of the best purchases I ever made. The wine color midi dress with bubble sleeves is very appropriate for this season because of the Christmassy color. I also like that it is very modest and chic at the same time. Every holiday season, retailers release sequin outfits; dresses, skirts and tops that sell really fast even before they hit the store shelves. Ladies buy these pieces at exorbitant price only to throw them at the back of the closet after the holiday because sequin pieces are usually not every day wear. My approach has always been to purchase one top or blouse that can be styled over and over.
Christmas is a few days away and I can still feel the buzz about the holiday even amidst the pandemic. If you are an essential worker who goes to work away from home and you need some inspiration on what to wear to work this week, think no further. This is the time to get out your plaids: skirts, pants, scarfs or coats. It is also the time to get out your glitter pumps. If you work in a corporate setting, a modest length plaid skirt is a great piece of clothing to wear to work this season. What a unique year it has been and I bet everyone is eagerly waiting for the last day of the year to roll by. In as much as I want the year to roll away, I definitely do not want to do away with Christmas. Christmas season is just my favorite time of the year and my favorite holiday. I would still be celebrating this year but would be celebrating safely. So, there would be no Christmas parties this year just family celebration at home. To get into the Christmas spirit, I'm doing most of my Christmas tradition which includes decorating the house and buying of gifts for loved ones. There is something about cold weather and plaid for me that I really cannot explain. When the temperature starts to drop at the start of the fall/autumn season, I get the longing to add this particular print to my wardrobe. The entrance of the shirt jacket "aka" Shacket (Shirt-Jacket) into the fashion scene this season, is another reason why I love this print. If you must know, the shirt jacket has been around for ages as men's wear and it slowly got into women's fashion recently. I loved this H&M piece a lot but it quickly sold out and since I really wanted to try out the trend, I decided to go thrifting for it and sure enough, I found a few pieces to add to my wardrobe this season.
How do you want to celebrate Christmas this year? It's definitely going to be different for almost everyone for sure. For me, It's going to be a quiet celebration. Usually, I would host Christmas parties at home but since we are social distancing this year, I'm going to celebrate with my immediate family so, there is no need for elegant, fancy attire. I'll reserve the big puffy dresses for next year; haha! 😀
