       Denim is having a big moment this season as you can tell from all the denim pieces you see around in the streets and on the runways; denim skirts, blazers, shirts, jumpsuits, vests, dresses, accessories...denim is just everywhere. If you are into this trend, you don't need to spend much to get into it as you can find good quality denim pieces from second hand or thrift stores or just dig deep into your closet; you just might find that one piece you purchased years ago and then hope that it still fits; haha! 😊

        Hi Friends 😀 I hope everyone is doing great. I'm restyling this mustard dress that I wore in this post here. Last time, I styled it for fall and this time, I styled it for summer just by changing out the accessories. I cinched my waist with a clear belt and added blue color accessories for some color blocking style and by the way, color blocking is back on trend.

How to elevate a floral dress: Statement earrings + Statement Clutch

   

      My summer style includes lots of dresses which are usually easy to wear and easy to style. In order to elevate my dresses, I try to accessorize with colorful accessories, and I did that in this outfit by wearing blue color statement earrings from J Crew and a blue color woven pouch. The red square toed sandals, similar here are my go-to sandals this season and my red floral dress is an old purchase from Eshakti. Thanks so much for stopping by here.

Wedding Style: Floral Dress + clear belt

 

Wedding season is here; summer weddings, that is and one of my favorite piece to wear to weddings and bridal events is a dress. In this post, I restyled this bold floral dress previously styled here into a shorter dress with the use of rubber bands which I used to make loops around the waist then I tucked the dress over the loops and cinched a clear belt over it. 

Why go through the trouble? you might ask...Well, it's all for fun. It's so much fun when I am able to restyle pieces from my closet for different occasions. A white pair of sandals, sunglasses and red statement earrings completed the look. I hope to do more restyling from my closet henceforth. Thanks so much for reading.

Summer Wish List 3

                                      One / Two / Three / Four / Five / Six / Seven / Eight

        I know we are in the middle of Summer, and it might seem a little too late to make a Summer Wish list but this is actually wish list #3 and different from wish list #2 here and wish list #1 here. The items on this list are from Fashionova and DSW respectively. I have always regarded Fashionova as a lingerie store because of their "barely there, almost naked" kind of clothing but decided to browse through the site anyway during the 4th of July sale to see if I could come up with some modest pieces.

Vacation Style: Brown tiered Dress + Summer Bag

       Vacation style equals simple and effortless style. You do not want to fuss over your outfits when you are on vacation. My go to style is always a dress. A dress is the most versatile piece in your vacation wardrobe because underneath the dress, you can wear your bikini or one-piece swimsuit if you are going to be on the beach. I purchased this dress on sale from JCPenney and I just love the color and tiered style. I paired it with a burlap graphic bag from Amazon and Alina Sandals which is a somewhat dupe of the Chloe slides. Thank you for reading.

What to wear for Mother’s Day

 

        Mother's Day is a couple of weeks away; if you need outfit inspiration for the day, this post is for you.        ऽummer is a time to wear easy, breezy dresses like this tiered, smocked embroidered dress that I  have had in my closet for a long time. I purchased it from a friend years ago that had a small clothing/accessories business. You can always find dresses like this in the stores in the summer time and they have been trending somewhat along with baby doll dresses this summer thanks to H&M. The dress is a strapless dress and since I needed some cover on my shoulders, I threw a small crop top over it. My tan color pouch bag and square toed mules completed the look. Summer is almost over as we know so this brown color is suitable for this sunny weather that is gradually coming to an end. Doing Summer in my Green Dress

 

     ዙow is everyone doing? I hope we are all strong, healthy and still keeping up with our Covid sanitation. I just wanted to pop in here real quick to show this green dress I wore the other day; actually an old piece from my closet. The way I transform old pieces in my closet is by adding fresh accessories which I did with this beautiful straw bag I thrifted years ago and my tan color pointed toe mules and bright yellow earrings. I wore this dress to lounge around in the house with a pair of short shorts underneath because it is a very mini dress 😁 If we were going out, I would wear this dress to a backyard BBQ or to go on a lunch date with my friends or family. Yellow floral Dress + Talking about self care

      Ꮴacation is a very essential part of self care and mental health for everyone because we can take deep breaths and recharge while on vacation. Things are a lot different this year for everyone; no travel, no vacation. Usually at this time of the year, my family would have had one or two vacation. Last year, we ended our summer by taking a trip to Disney World in Florida and visited beaches in Clearwater and Tampa. The kids still talk about the trip because it was so much fun. We were hoping to have another fun vacation this year but have not been able to. Families everywhere are experiencing the same thing this year and some are planning to take road trips or have taken road trips because flying is not really safe right now. I believe every family should evaluate all the risks before they embark on activities outside of their home at this time.

Staying sane amidst the Pandemic

       ฟe have been working from home and doing almost everything from home for the past weeks and months now and if you are a mom like me who has a home to run or you live alone and have goals to achieve, you'll admit that things can get pretty overwhelming at times; from work Zoom Calls to School Google Meets to endless home deliveries of meals and house supplies, it's easy to lose focus. I for one used to be so meticulous at keeping everything organized and tidy at my home and while I have not totally ignored the importance of having an organized and clean home, I have started to shift focus and to only worry about things that are most important at the moment. So long as I keep, the dishes, floors and laundry clean, it is okay for now if the photo frame on the wall is a little dipped to the side. My goal in this post is to tell you how I manage to stay sane in my home amidst this pandemic.  I am wearing a tie-dye tee shirt dress similar here which is very comfy to lounge in at home with my square toed sandals and white denim jacket on hand incase I need to step out the door for a quick social distancing run to the store.

            ᗪresses are summer staples and basic essentials when the temperature starts to go up. Although, flowy dresses are a big trend every summer, there is a new twist to it every season. Last summer, they were just flowy and the year before that, they were off-the-shoulders and cold shoulder and now, they are puffy sleeved. This set here features a beautiful pink floral dress from Farfetch accessorized with square toed sandals which is a huge trend this summer. How to fake a dress for a special Event

There are so many events to attend in the summer time and if you do not want to shop for something new or need some inspiration on how to put together an outfit really quick from your closet, think "Monochrome styling." The outfit I am wearing in this post is actually a tunic and a pleated skirt paired together. The outfit actually looks like a dress or a one piece. I know this because any time I style similar colors together like this in a top and skirt, I get complements about it as a dress. Even when I posted the look on my instagram, I got some comments on it as a dress 😃 The trick is to make sure the colors or shades of both pieces are really similar. The coolest Ruffle dress to wear this Summer

Happy Friday 😆 We are talking summer dresses on the blog today. These light weight printed dresses are trending this season and they are chic as chic can be. Some styles come with cold shoulders, mini ruffles and some are asymmetrical. Some are maxi while some are midi dresses. Sometimes, they are "mock-wrap" dresses. No matter the variation in the style, you would definitely recognize these dresses when you see them. They can be worn as everyday casual wear, worn to work on casual Fridays or even to special occasions.

So, I have had this dress for years; purchased it from TJ Maxx but have only worn it a couple of times because I thought it was shapeless and unflattering. Fast forward to this season and this style of dress is trending; yes trending and I am here for it. I love dresses and I believe dresses are feminine and chic and whether they are floral, printed, plain, maxi, midi, there is a dress for every occasion. What is unique thing about this style of dress is the light fabric and the free flowing style and the small ruffles which can be on the dress bodice, at the hem or all over. It is great for spring and summer and for vacation to a warm location. I styled it with white pumps to add some contrast and white pumps are also the new neutrals. Hi everyone, I hope the week has been great and we are all looking forward to the weekend with glee. It's already April; can you believe it! Well, April is supposed to be Spring time and we are supposed to have spring showers however, we're still dealing with snow falls here in Minnesota. We had some snow on Saturday and there is prediction of another storm by Friday. Hmmmm...**sigh**

 

Snow prediction or not; am not bothered by all that happens around me. My mind has already gone past spring to the summer...:-) I'm thinking of warm weather and ice-cream and shirt dresses...Yeah, "shirt dresses;" this is what this post is all about. Ladies' shirts have always been around but all of a sudden, there is a sudden buzz about them for this summer. I have always loved shirt dresses so this is a welcome trend. Above are two cute shirt dresses from the Victoriassecret website. And below are the cute body suit shirts which I absolutely love! I've got them in several colors and I wore the taupe color one in my post here. If you want to tuck in a shirt into a skirt or pants for the very formal look, you need one of these shirts.
