Grey tones for Fall and Winter

We cannot talk about Fall and Winter style without talking about the color grey. There is something about this shade of color that make the cold season style/fashion very appealing. Grey color can be paired with burgundy, white, black, red, blue and yellow or orange; basically, earth tones. It's one of my favorite colors to wear in the winter season along with burgundy which is also known as wine color, cherry or Bordeaux color. 

The "Stripes" is the print of the season

 

         Happy first day of summer! I hope you are having a great time and enjoying yourself. Have you noticed the "stripe fashion trend" everywhere on the fashion streets of the internet? The striped cardigan was a huge trend last fall and it is still going strong. You can style it for summer by wearing it over a white tee or tank top and pairing it with a light fabric wide leg pants or a midi skirt or pair of shorts. Complete the look with a pair of sunglasses and cute shoes and a bag and you are good to go. Happy viewing, happy styling 😎

Red Puffy Coat + All black outfit

       Red has been having a moment this winter but more in accessories like gloves, stockings, bags and shoes than in full outfits. This casual look; a black knit dress and red puffy coat is what I wore to an event I volunteered at a few weeks ago. The weather was cold and blustery with snow flakes flying in the air and had my hair whipping across my face. The event I volunteered at required me to be on my feet for a certain time so, I had to wear my Report Signature flat boots. A very simple look as usual...

Hello, Hello and Hi Dear

 

       Hello, hello and hi. It sure has been a long time! This might be the longest I have ever stayed away from this blog. I hope everyone is doing great in this crazy world we live in these days. How to be successful this year, 2023

       Happy new year Friends!  I wish you a very happy new year. It is never too late for good wishes. Neon Pantsuit + green heels

          Pantsuits have always been my favorite style of clothing because they are easy to style and equally very versatile. You can wear a pantsuit to just about any event these days and the pieces in the set can be restyled with other items in our closet. I purchased this green set from JCPenney about three years ago and was just waiting for the right time or season to wear it and now green and neon is trending. 

I styled my pantsuit with a green floral blouse and green heels. The green straw bag is an old thrifted piece. I look forward to restyling this suit in so many ways in the future. 10 years on the Blog! Happy Anniversary to me!!

         Ten years...it's ten years here on the blog! Unbelievable but so, so true 😀 My actual anniversary was in March. So, it's technically 10 years and counting. I must say though that my blog has been in private setting since Spring of 2020. Yes, when the whole world shut down, I shut down my little space on the internet too because I just wasn't feeling it. The desire to blog just diminished.

Casual Style: Vest + Denim

     Happy new year! It's so surreal that we are already in 2022 but I am excited, and I hope you are too. The farther we get away from the year 2020, the better it is for everyone. We had a very beautiful weather in the month of December and there was a day that the weather was so beautiful, December 2nd actually and it seemed like it was summer! Can you believe it! 

I styled my sweater vest over dark denim pants for a casual look and completed the look with faux fur slides. It was a comfy look just to lounge at home and to think happy thoughts and good wishes. I hope the new year is going great for you so far. Thanks so much for reading! 😀

Blue lace Dress + how to style

       This Summer is one of the hottest so far on record; at least, in the state of Minnesota and one of the ways I have been keeping cool is by wearing lace dresses. I have a stash of lace dresses that I reserved for weddings, baby dedication and baby showers (because in my Nigerian culture, lace is a fabric that is mostly used in the making of special event attire and outfits called "Aso-ebi") which I turned into weekend dresses this summer.

Sweater Vest and Denim Skirt

       Vests have been trending for a while now and I couldn't wait to style this thrifted vest I have had in my closet for a while. I love the high neck and the bold contrasting colors on this piece. I paired it with an equally old, distressed denim skirt I have had for a very long time. I completed the look with a pair of red square toe sandals and a white clutch, a very simple look. What say you about the vest trend? The eighties style is back!

How to style Vests for casual event

     

      Vests trending and I am willing to try out the trend. It does not hurt to add a couple of masculine pieces to a feminine wardrobe. However, this is a trend that is not going to be around for too long in my opinion so let's not get too crazy about it okay? 😁 I am offering some casual styling ideas in this post and you can make changes to the ensemble as you please. For example, I would switch out the pants for a pair of shorts. Happy viewing, happy styling.

Happy Mother's Day + My Eshakti knit Dress

 

      Knit dresses are my favorite kind of dresses at this time of the year and I love it when they are very dressy like this piece from Eshakti. I wanted to wear a floral dress for Mother's Day but changed my mind last minute and went for this dark navy blue midi knit dress instead. I like that it is structured and yet comfortable because the fabric is very soft and plush. Then, I love that it has pockets! Dresses with pockets is always a win, win in my book 😀

What to wear for Mother’s Day

 

        Mother's Day is a couple of weeks away; if you need outfit inspiration for the day, this post is for you. This Chicwish floral dress is just the perfect floral dress to wear to celebrate mom's day whether you are wearing it to Church or to brunch afterwards. The soft blue color is also a trending color.         Are you doing some spring cleaning yet? If you live in an area where you experience four seasons; winter, spring, summer and fall, you know this chore is inevitable every year. If you do not know, spring cleaning is the process of re-organizing your closet and putting away pieces or items from the current season that are no longer needed while you incorporate pieces from the upcoming season. Whatever pieces you add to your closet at this time should be able to keep you stylish and warm and cozy at the same time and it is usually regarded to as transitional dressing.

     Mules are back on trend and I mean mules, as in old school mules or nineties mules. I saw this cow print mules online and loved it right away. It is a unique twist on the mule trend with the very unique prints. I have always loved calf prints because it's so unique.     Green is low key one of my favorite colors and it's one reason why this knit dress is still in my closet. I have had it for years and wear it on repeat at this time of the year; the spring season. Hey! ladies, there is nothing wrong with wearing your outfits/pieces over and over again. Styling colored boots: Green

     Colored boots are my thing now. After I realized I had a lot of neutrals; brown and black and grey boots in my closet, I decided to add more colors and prints. However, I know colored boots can be a challenge to style (it depends on the color anyway) so, I practiced by putting looks together virtually.  Check out the first colored boots styling here.
