Shoe Lovin' - Clear floral glitter Pumps

Ͳhe best piece of accessory or fashion item is the one that is so versatile that it can be styled with any look in our closet and is stylish and affordable at the same time. This pearlized glitter pumps from DSW strikes off every item on the versatile accessory list because it's very stylish and chic design makes for a great pairing with any outfit, casual or dressed up. It would go perfectly with most summer outfits because of the neutral colors, lucite accent and floral design. The glitter accent on the pump also makes it a great holiday shoe. This is definitely a winner in my book. Check it out  Here

Vintage Styling: Floral Sequin blouse + Red circle Skirt

intage is where most things are going for me in the near future especially when it comes to fashion. I got this vintage looking sequin blouse from a thrift/consignment store in my neighborhood last year and previously styled it here. I was drawn to the many colors and sparkles that emanated from it while it was hanging on the rack. The sequin blouse is a statement piece because  of the colorful floral patterns or prints on it. I got it out again this season and paired it with this red circle skirt I got from Chicwish years ago when circle skirts and midi skirts were on trend. Well, it's 2019 and my skirt is still on trend for me...haha! 😂

How to get unique fashion pieces for your Closet

Hi Friends; it's been cold and cloudy in my neck of the woods and I have not been able to take any recent pics to update the blog. These pics were taken a couple of weeks ago and in it I am wearing a sari like lace dress that I have had in my closet for a while now. (The dress is quite old so I do not remember what store I got it from; probably T.J. Maxx because I shopped there a lot years ago). The champagne lace dress is a beautiful sari (Indian cultural attire) with very unique floral lace details and unique pattern running from the neckline to the hem and long slits on the sides. I styled it by layering it over a pair of wine burgundy corduroy pants and completed the look with a burgundy color velvet clutch and floral embellished pumps. I wore the outfit to Church on a not so chilly day and it was days right after the beautiful wedding of Nick Jonas and Priyanka. Since it was still fall at the time, the color palette was very appropriate. was And this brings me to the title of this blog post; getting unique fashion pieces for our closets.

"As I said in a previous post; there is not much gain in acquiring and consuming material possessions. It is time to invest in things that give life more meaning like making memories with Family and Friends and investing in things that build up our faith and spirituality."

One of my goals this year is to shop my closet more and only purchase very unique pieces for my closet. To achieve this, I intend to start consuming fashion in a different way; in a more responsible and thrifty manner. Also, I intend to do a lot of restyling of my closet pieces and my plan to achieving success is by following the steps below.

Declutter and reorganize

The benefits of having a clutter free and organized space cannot be overemphasized and the fact that the closet can easily become the space that needs the most organization in the home cannot be ignored. So, I'll start first by going through my closet and sorting through everything; donating clothes and accessories that do not fit or are rarely used and only keeping the fashion items that I need and making sure they are organized and laid out in an easy way for future use. for now, my winter wardrobe are all within reach in my closet while the summer pieces are way at the back with some items even kept in storage boxes and containers till they are needed.

DIYs and creative tailoring

Creative tailoring like adjusting hems of very long or short fashion pieces and DIYs can create totally new looks that make the garment different from how it was made originally thereby creating a new look. Old pieces can also be given new life by simply changing out buttons or adding sashes and obi belts to blazers and dresses. For example, I ordered this pair of glitter pumps  for the holiday and wanted to change the look a little bit so I ordered this pair of shoe clips and glued them on the pumps to achieve a somewhat different pair of shoes that I styled with this dress here and kind of like the  embellished floral pumps I am wearing in this post here. You can also shop customized fashion website like eShakti.

Holiday Lookbook: Sequin Skirt + Floral Pumps

A sequin skirt is an essential holiday piece because you can create several outfits with it. This pencil sequin mesh skirt from Chico's has since sold out but there are other designs available like this piece here and this beautiful metallic piece here. When it comes to styling sequin pieces, the styling options are quite versatile. For this look, I paired my skirt with a short sleeve turtle neck top from Boohoo and floral pumps with jewel embellishments; a pair I purchased years ago. A pair of disc earrings  and a bracelet and velvet envelope clutch similar here completed the look. This look is a mix of textures; sequins, velvet and floral which embodies the Christmas spirit; the coming together of families and friends to celebrate birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Jesus is the reason for the season everyone. This look can be worn to any informal event like a Christmas party, dinner date or any other holiday gatherings. For a more formal look, throw on a blazer and you are good to go.

Work Style: Ivory + Brown

Ivory or white and brown has been one of my favorite color pairings this season. Here I am wearing an ivory blouse paired with a tweed brown color A-line skirt. The tweed skirt is more or less a cold weather staple but I made the outfit summer worthy by accessorizing with floral embellished pumps in a nude color to match the color tone of the outfit. My vintage leather bag completed the look. Thanks for viewing.

Pink coat + floral flats

Hi everyone 😁 The year is quickly coming to an end; can you believe it? We made it this far and we will make it across to 2018 in Jesus name; Amen! I designed this sweatshirt I paired with my jean off of the Custom ink website years ago and the graphics on the sweat shirt reads; "My God is super cool." At that time, there were not lots of inspirational/graphic tees around but right now, they are everywhere and if you are someone like me who loves graphic tees for casual wear, you would celebrate the classic graphic tee because it is just timeless and it is a trend that you can wear

Velvet blazer + Floral Pumps

Happy Monday everyone; I hope the new week is going great. I'm just going to do a quick post on what I wore to Church yesterday; this burgundy color velvet blazer paired with black tie-neck blouse and black denim trouser. Yeah, this pants are really denim and very, very comfy and I like them a lot because they can pass for dress pants. The blazer does have a lot of fashion roles to play in this outfit. First of all, it adds a pop of color to the outfit, secondly

I wore this midi knit dress last Summer and I must admit it was a bit outside my comfort zone. Knit dresses are so notorious for showing off every curve and every dimple on a woman's body especially if you are curvy and I really do not like it. However,

Cobalt Blue Pant Suit + Blue floral Pumps

Happy Monday and Presidents day Friends. A lot of mixed feelings about President's day this year but when it comes to wearing the color blue, I absolutely do not have any mixed feelings. It is a color I am starting to embrace and explore. Several years ago, I never would have thought of wearing a blue color pant suit but I started taking fashion risks over the past years and last summer, I put this cobalt color pant suit together which are actually separates; the blazer is an old thrifted piece  and the pants is an old purchase from Jcrew. I paired the look with my white blouse from Ann Taylor and accessorized with a pair of blue floral Nine West pumps to get a full blue outfit. So much dose of blue medicine to get rid of the Monday blues; Enjoy the rest of the week and thanks for stopping by.

Pink and Floral

October is the month to wear pink if you do not like to wear pink at all because of the awareness it brings to breast cancer. This post is a nod to the month of October as  breast cancer awareness month and it features this pink pant suit I wore sometime last summer. I must say though that this pant suit are actually separates. I bought the blazer and the pants at different times and was so surprised when I realized later that the two pieces were a perfect match especially because I bought them online at different times without comparing colors or fabrics. I purchased the blazer from Ann Taylor and the pants from Jcrew a couple of summers ago.

I believe a lady should own at least one pair of pant suit in her closet and a neutral color pant suit is always the first choice then you can buy a pair in a bold color later if you choose. I usually wear my pant suit to church and then at other times, I just wear the individual pieces separately. 'throw the pink blazer over a white graphic tee and blue denim and you have a cool casual outfit. Gone are the days when pant suits were considered frumpy and too conservative because they are trending right now. Your thoughts?

Purple and High-Low

Hi Friends, I hope your week is going great so far. It has been very hot over here in the last few days and it was so scorching hot last sunday that I had no choice but to wear this sleeveless, sheer dress to church. The dress is a simple high-low dress that I purchased from Forever 21 a long time back. The pics were taken with my cell phone as usual and it did not really capture the dress the way it should. I made a trip to the fabric store and bought some yards of faux fur fabric on saturday and I made this clutch in less than an hour. The floral pumps are from heels.com. We had a barbecue at the lake-aide right after the service and it was just a fun weekend.

Dress: Forever 21

Clutch: DIY

I'll be back again soon to chat more. Enjoy the rest of the week.

Draped...

Happy Wednesday everyone; I hope you are all having a great week so far. I presently have my family members vacationing here in Minnesota so, I'm still in the holiday mode. It's always nice to have family around especially when you don't get to see all the time due to distance and busy schedule. I wore this draped blouse that I purchased from eshakti a while ago over this white denim pants today and finished the look off with my Nine West floral pumps. I fell in love with floral pumps when they came on the scene recently and you can see my previous post here. Floral pumps are very unique and they can be worn just about anywhere depending on their style or color. This navy-blue and white floral pumps can go to the office too with a very formal look.

As for this draped blouse, I just love the color but it's hard to tell if it is actually heather grey or blue in color. I just realized recently that I do not have a lot of blue pieces in closet aside from the regular denim so, I have been adding blue color items into my closet.

Blouse: eshakti (sold out)
Denim: Calvin Klein:  via T. J. Maxx
Pumps: Nine West
Clutch: Target

I wish you all of God's blessings for the rest of the week and if you are stopping by here for the first time, please, leave your comment or a link and I'll definitely stop by your space to say hi.
