Work Wear: wearing White after Labor Day

Happy Tuesday Friends; it's a short work week for those of us that reside in the United States. I hope you had a fun Labor Day holiday yesterday. So, we are back to work today and the kids are back to school. It was the first day of school for my kids today and I was glad to send them off with prayers and thanksgiving. It's the best thing parents can do for their kids apart from providing them with all their needs; praying for them. I pray for my kids before they start a new school year for God to protect and guide them and help them make the right decisions at all times. The prayer has to continue too; not just a one day thing 😀 Okay, back to "Mommy Fashion;"what do you wear to work the day after Labor Day holiday which is the official end of summer? What do you say about the ongoing debate of not wearing white after Labor day? It's a rule that has been debunked long time ago as most people wear whites even well into the winter; winter whites anyone? The shoe that is the topic of our shoe loving' post today is this Gianvito Rossi pointed toe mule pumps in white color. The pumps are super chic and edgy and can take any casual outfit to a high level of classy. Black Sheath Dress + White Shoes

Happy Monday everyone. I'm sure you are all ready for the July 4th celebration if you live in the United States. I'm so ready for the holiday and also a vacation. I'm actually planning on taking another leave of absence from the blog sometimes called "Blogcation"haha! 😌 I need some time off to spend with my kids and hubs and time for myself also. The good news is, I have lots and lots of pictures in my Blog Archive that I have never blogged before so I'm going to see if I can schedule some posts here and there while I am away. The difference would be that I would not be able to write long text to accompany the posts or might not be able to do the "Shop Similar Looks" links or even publish or reply to comments. Don't be surprised to find posts that were published retroactively too. And by this I mean that, you might check in and don't find any posts and then you check in at a later time and find the blog fully updated. White button down shirt + Denim

Happy Friday everyone. Friday is for casual style and for me, casuals in the most basic sense means denim. Today, I styled my denim pants with an oversized white button down shirt and white pumps which is a pairing you are going to see a lot this summer. You can wear this look to visit friends, to go shopping and even to hang out with hubby or friends. White is a color I used to shy away from previously most especially because I'm always around my kids and from experience, whites and kids don't go together nicely 😑 However, this summer, I'm embracing the white color trend because of the clean fresh look and how classy it looks plus my kids are grown now and they know Mom needs to still look glam while taking care of them 😆 The white sunnies added some whimsy to the look and the cuff bracelet which I purchased from Forever 21 several years ago added a little bit of color to the look too.  Are you up for styling whites with denim this summer? Keeping it simple and bright: Pink pant suit + white Pumps

Hi Friends, we are going to keep this post short and simple because we are still talking about Pastels and it needs no more introduction plus the outfit itself is simple. I must say pink is my favorite pastel and it is no wonder that I have had this pink blazer for years. It is actually a thrifted piece and cost me less than $10 at the time I got it. I paired the pink blazer with  pink denim pants similar to this pair from Jcrew here. I get really excited when I am able to put together a complete outfit by playing mix-and-match in my closet and I have lots of pantsuits that I have paired together like that. Sometimes, the two colors are a little off and not a perfect match but it is still okay. Monochrome styling does not always have to be perfect. I completed the look with white pumps and a straw bag just because white pumps are the new neutrals and straw bags are just here to stay. My ruffled floral green summer dress

So, I have had this dress for years; purchased it from TJ Maxx but have only worn it a couple of times because I thought it was shapeless and unflattering. Fast forward to this season and this style of dress is trending; yes trending and I am here for it. I love dresses and I believe dresses are feminine and chic and whether they are floral, printed, plain, maxi, midi, there is a dress for every occasion. What is unique thing about this style of dress is the light fabric and the free flowing style and the small ruffles which can be on the dress bodice, at the hem or all over. It is great for spring and summer and for vacation to a warm location. I styled it with white pumps to add some contrast and white pumps are also the new neutrals. My ring purse is almost invisible against the dress but I'm sure you can still see it. I hope you are having a great week so far. Thanks a lot for stopping by.

Hi Friends, I have been super busy with family and work; trying to get the kids transition back into school nicely after the holidays, working hard to lose those extra pounds I gained during the holidays and running things generally behind the scene. I have not done an outfit post for a while now but I was able to get some blog pictures today with the help of my son  since they were home for the Martin Luther King holiday. I took the day off work too so we had a long weekend.

These white pumps here are the recent addition to my shoe closet and actually part of my Christmas gifts. I was so excited to get them because I have wanted white pumps for a while now. I know the cap toe makes them look a bit dated but I think they still look okay. Now, I'm looking forward to spring. I would work on my first outfit post for the year tomorrow and I look forward to your comments on my new look...:-). I only lost a few pounds though so you might not even notice any difference.
