Yellow Faux fur Shawl

Thank God the storm is over; I don't live in the East Coast but I can relate to what they went through during the blizzard. Living in Minnesota, we are pretty used to snow storms and blizzards but I do not underrate what people went through in the blizzard and I thank God that the damage was not much.

This outfit here is my winter storm outfit..lol; yeah, it is indeed very comfy and the bright yellow color was intended to bring in some cheer to a very cloudy and cold weather day. I wore this outfit to church on Sunday and I felt warm and chic the whole time. Some of my friends thought my faux fur shawl is real and I had to reassure them that it is not. I purchased this fur shawl during the Christmas season and I blogged about it in my Winter Accessories post here. I loved it so much that I purchased a second one in a grey color and the price was very affordable too.

The red lace dress

Hi friends, it's been a long time and I just do not want to give all the excuses in the book for my mini hiatus. A very big thanks to everyone who stopped by to leave comments on my last post. So, I'm back with this post that has been saved in my archive since Christmas; yep! my Christmas outfit..lol. This Eshakti red lace dress had been in the closet for months because I was actually saving it for Christmas; it was one of the pieces on my Eshakti blog list here and my first ever red lace dress. I styled it in a different way during the Christmas break by using it as a top for a skirt and I will share the pics in a different post. This dress was about $80 when I purchased it and I knew the price was steep but I am glad I'll be able to get multiple use out of it plus the lace is of a very high quality too.

Dress: eshakti /Jewelry: jcrew / Pumps: Victorias secret (old) / Purse: Express / Faux fur vest (old)

The faux fur vest was only used as a hand accessory and I only threw it on in some of the pictures just to see how it would look but I didn't mind posting the pics though...lol; a faux fur vest over a lace dress? that might definitely get me on a worst dressed list somewhere I think; what are your thoughts?

We had a very beautiful weather for Christmas and it's very much different from what we have now. I can't wait for spring to get here; getting tired of the snow and cold. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those in the line of the impending storm in the east coast and other parts of the country.

There is that popular saying; "new year, new you" and there is not going to be a new "you" without any effort(s) to make changes to your person. Some people try to achieve this at the beginning of the new year by laying down goals and resolutions to help them stay focused the whole year (and there is absolutely nothing wrong with it) but in reality if there is no action to back up the "list of goals," it ends up just the way it started; "a list of goals at the end of the year." For me, my goal is to pray harder and love God more and by doing this, I'm calling on God to give me grace to flourish in every area of my life and with faith, changes and miracles do happen.

So, this year, I intend to love God more, love and pray for my family and friends more and also to 'slay" when it comes to fashion...lol. And one way "slaying" (I really do hate this slang!..lol) or looking fashionable and chic in fashion is by infusing colors into our wardrobe. My color inspiration for today is the color "Green." I'm loving every piece in the outfit collages above. Are you a fan of the color green and how do you hope to achieve your goals this year? Your thoughts...

Shoe Lovin'

People say "new-year, new-you" and that is totally right. Another catch phrase I like for the new year is; "new-year, new-shoes." I know most ladies would appreciate a new pair of shoes any day, any time; for me however, the excitement of getting a new pair to celebrate the new year is just amazing. This Asos platinum metallic heels went on sale recently and it is a very good alternative to the luxury brand, metallic heels; Jimmy Choos and Manolo Blahnik.

here

If you are interested in getting this pair, check it out at the Asos website here. If you follow my posts on this blog, you will know that I like to share affordable deals here on the blog because I believe that you do not have to splurge and spend so much to look great. Happy new year again.

Happy new year and 2015 Summary

Happy new year Friends; it's been a while...:-) thanks to everyone who dropped by to leave messages on my last post. I pray that this year be the best ever for everyone. I was supposed to have this post up at the end of December but never got to it. I was just too busy last minute just like a lot of people. I know Christmas celebration is for everyone but when you are surrounded by lots of kids then you know that Christmas celebration is extra special and I got a little exhausted by the time all the parties and celebrations got done.

I'm glad to be back in Blogland and like I said this post is overdue, So here goes all the outfits that I wore at the later part of 2015; from August to December. Like I always say too, I'm not a fashionista or fashion stylist or expert but a mom who likes to have fun with fashion and consider fashion blogging a hobby. If anything; I think I did well by making my outfits more colorful and diverse.
