Birthday Selfie

Velvet blazers HERE

Hi Friends; such a late post I know but I have been busy, busy, busy!...Lol. It's my birthday today and I decided to post a selfie instead of my usual work "wear Monday" post. I am wearing a velvet blazer which is a huge trend right now and I accessorized my blazer with a sticker; "I voted." So, one of the fun things I did on my birthday was to go cast a ballot in a general election; ha! ha!!

I thank God for the wonderful gifts he has bestowed on me and this blog is one of them and I thank God for you too for stopping by here. Thanks a lot for your support and your thoughts and comments.

Happy Friday Friends; it's the weekend; woot! woot!! time for some shopping therapy. I am excited to tell you about the new deals in one of my favorite online stores; Eshakti. I have blogged about this store a couple of times on here and I have some amazing pieces from Eshakti in my closet like this shirtdress I wore in this post HERE and HERE and this beautiful skirt HERE and denim jumpsuit HERE. There are other Eshakti pieces in my closet too that I haven't blogged about yet so you can tell Eshakti is indeed one of my favorite stores.
What I like most about this store is their unique customization service that allows you to customize your clothing item to your taste. For example, you can make alteration to the sleeves of a dress, adjust the length, pick a unique neckline or even add or remove pockets. The store also carries a wide range of clothing sizes from 0-36W.

Shoe Lovin' - Camo Sandals

   Go Jane Camo Sandals

It's time for another shoe gist on here and today's find is this pair of Camo sandals from Go Jane. I fell in love with it the first time I saw them online and since they were pretty affordable, I decided to give them a shot. I was not too familiar with the brand at the time and could not say much for the quality of the shoes so, I had a plan to return the shoes if the quality was not great.  Guess what! they are as beautiful as they look and the quality is amazing. My only issue with them is that; I wish the color was a little darker. If you are not a fan of Camo prints, this sandals does come in solid colors too. Check out the links below if you like Fashion on a budget.

Hello Yellow..

It's a rainy day over here and the cold is starting to set in. I was taking a look through my phone a few days ago and found these pictures I took a few weeks ago on my way out to a wedding. Lace dresses are my favorite clothing to wear to events like weddings, birthday parties and baby showers and I own them in so many colors already.

I scored this yellow off-the-shoulder dress at a discounted price of $20 in a recent Topshop clearance sale online. The color is a bit loud but it was the best outfit to wear on a cloudy day because it was drizzling and cloudy all day for the event. My iPhone pictures did not do any justice to this dress and probably that is a good thing; I do not want you to be blinded by so much color/brightness....Lol. Do you own any lace dresses? What are your thoughts on them?

Fall 2016 Trends: Part One

Like every other year, lots and lots of trends roll off the runways at the beginning of every season and this year, it is not different. The trends for Fall 2016 are already being seen in the stores and on trend conscious fashionistas out there. This post is the first amongst a few to highlight the Fall trends for this year.

These trends need no elaboration and in fact, they are actually recycled trends. We have seen them all before right from the eighties; anyone remember the choker in the eighties and early nineties? If they are here gain as decided by the designers, we'll go ahead and look good in them.

How to wear Trumpet sleeves to work

The Work wear post for today is on "how to wear the trumpet bell sleeves to work." The trumpet sleeve is a huge trend this fall and has slowly moved from a trend common in dresses to blouses and even cashmere sweaters. This fun trend goes effortlessly from date night to girls' night out. However, if done right, it can also go effortlessly to the office. Below are two ways this trend can be styled for corporate wear.

                                                                       Look One:

With the help of accessories like the belt and the pearl necklace, this season's sweater looks chic for work paired with a pair of plaid trousers and great heels. Show up to the job in this outfit and everyone would know that you are a style icon who means business. The red duster can further transform the look from work to happy hour.

                                                                       Look Two

For this second look, the trumpet sleeve sweater is tucked into a black pencil skirt for a chic and elegant look. The white blazer and statement bag helped to elevate the look and with an outfit like this, you'll definitely be ready for every work schedule that shows up.

JCrew: two trends in one

Happy Friday Lovelies. I hope our week was great and we are excited for the weekend..:-) Fridays and weekends are for casual styles (at least most of the time) and my post for today is about this casual style I wore a while back. I call this Jcrew top "2 for 1" because it is a combination of two trends; plaid and off-the-shoulder top. The reviews on this top were not too great on the site when it was released because a lot of people felt it had no fit and ran too large. However, It did not deter me from buying the top but I waited until it went on sale and surprisingly it was sold out in my size. I ended up getting a top two sizes larger than I normally wear and I figured I could just give it out as a gift if it doesn't fit.

Lo and behold, the fit was not too bad after all and it paired nicely with my light wash denim pants. What I am really saying from this chit-chat is that; you have to make sure you read reviews of items if you are making purchases online. You have to be informed about a product or an outfit so that you know what exactly you are paying for. Aside from comments on the piece of clothing itself, make sure you also pay attention to any comments about customer service and return policy. I for one, would never shop at a store that does not have quality products/clothing and good customer service and I'll never promote such a store or service. JCrew is a great store and I love their clothes and customer service so far including this trendy, plaid, off the shoulder top.

Mixed Prints: Camo and Grid.

Hi Friends, happy Thursday. It's a mixed prints look on the blog today and frankly, this is a look I don't do much. And I know that when it comes to mixing of prints; it is usually a love or hate situation. Some ladies absolutely love it and they can mix any kind of prints while some ladies do not. However, a small number of ladies have mixed reaction to it and I would say that is where I belong. I love to see the trend on others when it is perfectly styled but I won't say I am really good at it. Lately, I have been trying my best to style them on Polyvore and you can see some of my mixed prints collage sets on HERE.

I saw this camo print skirt on an account I follow on Instagram and I immediately went on their website to check it out. The website sells mostly modest clothing apparel and I was surprised that they decided to throw in this fun, camo print skirt into their designs. If you want to check it out, click on the links below and please know that the skirts do run slightly small in size so, go one size up. You can take a look at another print mix I did on the blog HERE.

Polka dots and Culottes

Happy Wednesday Friends; as always, I hope your week is going great. This post is on polka dots and culottes; an outfit I wore months ago. The two pieces of the outfit are from Loft stores but they are currently sold out and if you want similar items, you might want to look into the 50% off sale currently going on at Loft.
Polka dots prints are here to stay and so also is culottes. The pair I am wearing here seem a little too long and I am sure that is why it went on sale. I love the width though and I ended up buying it in two colors. I'll be styling the second pair sometime soon. As always, thanks a lot for stopping by here.
