Hi Friends, it was such a beautiful day yesterday and I do not mean that in relation to the weather but I'm talking about the thanksgiving celebration itself; it was so much fun. There was so much food and dancing which was good because I think I gained and lost 5 pounds yesterday.

Now these items above are some of my favorites for this season and what I would have loved to be wearing right now but it seems the winter is fully upon us in Minnesota and with so much cold and snow around, these fall loves would lay at the back of the closet for now.

Today, is black friday and there are so much deals and discounts going on in the stores and online. If you like the items above, then you need to check them out. I have got to go now. I'm expecting a friend this evening who is visiting from South Africa.

New Gadgets..

Hi Friends, just one more day before the Thanksgiving holiday **Woot! Woot!!** I rushed to the store after work today and  got everything on my grocery list and I'm all set to start prepping for the big thanksgiving dinner. I'll tell you a secret though; I'm not such a great cook; yeah, I let it out...that is one of my weak points...:-). However, when it comes to holidays, I become a pro. I think holidays bring out the hidden chef in me...:-)

This outfit is what I wore on Saturday to a friend's birthday party for her son. It was a kiddies birthday and I took my kids along to celebrate with their friend. Somehow, I just wanted to dress up and have an excuse to wear my new Altuzarra for Target booties. You see, I have been spoiling myself lately with all kinds of gifts and I must say I'm a bit saturated now unless Santa wants to deliver more gifts to me...:-). I purchased this knit midi skirt from Victorias secret about three years ago and I really love it. I wish they had it in different colors, I would have got them all. My earrings were gifted to me by my aunt last summer and I love the way it matches with the hardware on my bag and booties. Also, the floral socks were gifted to me by hubs for my birthday two years ago and they are still very durable. They are from Express and I know Express does have great accessories if you want to check them out. So, almost every piece I'm wearing is old except for my booties; what then are the new gadgets that I got; the title of my post?

                                                                  Skirt: Victorias secret
                                                                  White tee: Hanes
                                                                   Scarf and booties: Target
                                                                   Socks: Express
                                                                   Bag: Jacqueline Ferrar
                                                                   Jacket: Wilson's Leather (old)

I got new gadgets for the blog!...:-) a translation gadget at the top right hand corner of the blog and the Bible reader gadget at the bottom of the page. Check them out.  So, you see, I have gifted myself quite a bit recently (with Altuzarra boots and booties and gadgets..:-)). Now, it's  time to gift (to give) others and I'm thinking of another GIVEAWAY on the blog too. What gifts have you received or spoiled yourself with lately? Thanksgiving is around the corner friends and so is Christmas and New Year. The season of giving is upon us.

Stripes, straps and tassels

Hi Friends, let's do the weather update first before talking about this outfit because to tell you the truth, if you live in Minnesota, the weather and dressing/outfits go hand in hand. You can never separate the two. You have to dress for the weather at all times. Well, it did get warmer like it was predicted for this weekend but there was absolutely no sun yesterday and today too. In fact, we had fog for a couple of hours this morning. Since, it was not too cold out, I didn't need to do a lot of layering and only had my red trench coat instead of a winter jacket. Do you know that I'm wearing a skirt and a top and not a dress in this post? Let me break down the outfit...:-).

Remember this stripped skirt I wore in the summer in this post? Okay, I'm wearing the same skirt along with a cropped top I bought from Forever 21 over the summer. The stripes are not the same size but since the colors in both pieces are alike, I decided to do some stripe on stripe mixing. The cropped top is very cropped indeed (above the navel) so I layered a black tank top underneath it and tucked it into the skirt then I cinched my waist with this black belt with tassels that I got at the thrift store and blogged about here. My new Altuzarra by Target knee boots completed the look along with a black cross body bag. I really wish this boots came in brown color too because I actually love it so much. They are practically sold out now. The only headache is the straps around the boots. They look kind of messy and since I couldn't loop it around the same way it was looped by the manufacturers, I just let the thing go and then my cross body bag straps; hence the title of the post; Stripes, straps and tassels.

Cropped top: Forever 21
Skirt: LOFT
Boots: Altuzarra for Target Sold out
Cross body bag: Jacqueline Ferrar
Trench Coat: Old Navy

I wish you all of God's blessings in the new week. Thanksgiving holiday is almost here and there are tons of things to thank God for; definitely time to count our blessings.

Cloudy, gloomy, grey and cold.

So what do you wear on a cold, cloudy, gloomy and grey day? I would say you "wear white or white and something..:-). " It's been cold and dreary over here for days with occasional peaks of sun and it wasn't "blogging weather" in my book especially because I take my pictures with my iPad. I'm thinking of buying a very good camera soon though **yes, I know I have been saying this for ages...:-).** and this means I'll have to break out my tripod again because my young photographers (my kids) would not know how to operate a complicated camera. I love what I do so I'm not complaining...:-). I know these pictures are very blurry but you can still recognize me from the pictures; right? Maybe, I'll just wear these same pieces again some other time.

I threw on this outfit to beat the winter blues and it's a very simple look to pull off; a faux fur vest over denim and a pair of booties; easily the default outfit for this cold dreary weather. The bag is from Cold water creek and it can be worn hand held or as a back pack. The forecast for this weekend looks very good; upper thirties and sunny and the kids have a birthday invitation for tomorrow so we are going to wear bright and warm outfits to celebrate the nice weather. I hope you are keeping warm too if you are currently experiencing the chill and winter weather.

Shirt: J. C. Penny
Faux fur vest: (old)
Denim: VS
Booties Target (old)
Bag: Cold water Creek
