Stepping Out

Red Blouse: Old
Pants: Forever 21
Clutch: T. J. Maxx
Shoes: Louboutin
Sun glasses: Target

These pictures were taken sometime ago. I was just stepping out of the house when I realized that there was something missing about the look. I knew I needed one more accessory and it was my sun glasses. I put it on and immediately felt better about the look. Sans the sun glasses, my eyes were tired and dull but thank God I realized a long time ago that sun glasses are not meant only for protecting the eyes from the rays of the sun. They also hide those slight mishaps which include dark circles. Another "No Brainer"; I know. Thanks so much for stopping by and have a blessed week.

No Brainer

Top: T. J. Maxx
Pants: Loft
Sandals: Victoriassecret

Well, Summer is almost over **sniff! sniff!!** and I do not know if I have really enjoyed every minute of it so far to my greatest satisfaction but what I do know is that God has been so good to me and I give him thanks for everything including the highlights and low lights; he is still God no matter what. So far, one of my highlights was finding out that we've been blessed with a little one. Hubby and I just love kids and knowing that we have room, means and enough love and grace for one more, we are happy and excited. Then one of my "low-low" low lights of the summer was waking up with a pink eye one morning! Oh Gosh!! The worst and most embarrassing beauty and fashion ill that can ever happen to any one! I spent hours in the bathroom just staring at the mirror and dabbing at my puffy eyes, washed and sanitized my hands the whole day; wore dark sunglasses in the house the whole time and voluntarily put myself on quarantine. I do not know how on earth I got it because I'm always very careful but I promised myself it will never, never happen to me again. **aarrggh**

So, I put on one of my new summer sandals to go with a simple casual outfit; a black top and red denim pant. For some reason, whenever I put on the color red, I'm always looking for an animal print accessory to go with it.  For this simple black and red outfit, this black and white animal print sandals were no brainer. Thanks so much for reading and have a beautiful and blessed day.

Summer Florals

My love for prints goes beyond the animal prints to include florals. I just love sheer floral blouses for summer and I was able to squeeze myself baby bump and all into this old summer favorite and that's why I have such a big smile on my face...:)

Shoes In..

Hi everyone, it's Animal prints season again; The prints are in the shoes this fall and they come in super trendy styles and heels. I told myself a while ago that I was going to stop  buying anything prints because it seemed like prints was beginning to take over my closet just like black and grey did a while back but oh my!! sometimes you just can't resist!!...:) The collage below represents my  old animal prints shoe collection and when prints appeared again this season, I decided to add some more prints in my shoe closet and I blogged about the shoes above in this post.

Well, I took advantage of the Victoria's secret shoe sale and got the pairs below. The sandals were purchased to make my summer wardrobe a little bit more interesting and the booties are supposed to add some edge to the fall and winter wardrobe. Below are pictures of my recent haul in my colorful home which needs some interior therapy ASAP..:)

My black/prints booties on display in my room..

My beige/prints booties on display in my son's room..

My black/white print sandals on display in my girls' room...

My leopard prints sandals on display in a corner in my room..

However, I am still seeking for animal prints flats which would make my "print shoes" collection complete...:) A little bit of online surfing turned out the fabulous pairs below but since the prices are on the steep side, the surfing and stalking continues...:) I'm also brainstorming on what design and colors I would use to spice up my home for the new year. Interior decorating is another hobby of mine and I'm thinking of posting more pictures of little projects that I carry out in my home now and then. Thanks so much for stopping by and do let me know of other great pairs of animal prints flats or less than four inch heels that are out there and won't break the bank...:)

Weekend Finale

So, I have been trying hard to get my relaxation on after my last weekend gigs...:) and I am super happy for my friend for clocking the big 4-0 in style. For a recap, she started her birthday weekend on Friday night when she hosted a big dinner party for her family most of whom traveled all the way from the UK, Africa and outside of MN for the birthday celebration. Saturday was the actual birthday party which was an all night event for adults only and we had so much fun! Then the kids were incorporated into the celebration on Sunday with a barbecue and there was so much food to eat and lots of dancing and inflated castles for the kids to play in. These pictures are from the Sunday Finale event and though they are not that clear (as usual...:)) but I'm glad I was able to take pictures during the event considering that I was running around those kids all evening just to make sure none of them got in trouble...:)

Keeping an eye on the kids as they bounced around; children/kids are the most beautiful little people ever...:)

Matthew 18: 1-4

At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, “Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Sequined Me

So, I had so much fun last night with hubby at my friend's fortieth birthday bash. It was an adult only event so the kids were over at a friend's house. The party was beautiful, colorful and so much fun with lots of prayers and well wishes for the celebrant who looked dashing in a beautiful evening dress. A lot of ladies were dressed in black and white; the colors of the season and everyone looked so cute. I finally went with the sequined dress and jacket and I added a vintage red and gold choker to my look. I apologize for the poor quality pictures; I took the pictures with my phone and it was at the end of the night when I was tired from dancing and just ready to go home to crash on my bed!..:) I will be going for a barbecue party later today in continuation of the birthday celebration and since I was informed that there were going to be bouncing castles and kids for this event, I have decided to pick a different outfit other than the yellow dress I picked in my last post. I'm thinking of wearing something really casual; maybe denim shorts and a tee and jacket for any change in temperature.

I want to say special thanks to my friends who left comments on my last post. This sequin dress was the top pick and I am glad I went with it. I thought it was not going to be comfy at first but it was. Have a nice weekend and thanks so much for reading. Stay beautiful and blessed!

Narrowed Down Choices

Dress: Express
Jacket: Old
Shoes: Louboutin pigalles
Purse: T. J. Maxx

So, I finally picked out my outfits for the weekend with comfort taking priority over anything else. I wanted to wear a dark colored outfit with some sparkle to the birthday night party that I'm attending with hubby tonight and something yellow and colorful for the barbecue. My first choice for the night is the sequin body con dress that hubby bought me for my birthday last October which has been in the closet all these months and since it's starting to get cold at nights, I thought of pairing it with a black blazer. Black pointed toe heels and red/gold sparkly purse completes the first look.

My second look for the night is a black asymmetrical piece with sequins I purchased from Wet seal years ago which can be worn either as a skirt or a tube dress. The accessories include a sheer sparkly black/teal poncho with a sequined black clutch and teal pointed toe shoes. This is a very comfortable choice and I'm leaning more towards this.

Poncho: Dress Barn (Old)
Shoes: Jessica Simpson
Clutch: T. J. Maxx

I decided to go with something yellow for the back yard BBQ and I narrowed my outfits to two choices. For the first choice,  I chose a flowered Ralph Lauren dress I bought at T. J. Maxx a while ago and because the straps are really tiny, I chose a light yellow linen long-sleeve top to wear over it. Accessories include an over sized gold clutch and red knot-tie Kelsey Dagger sandals for a pop of color.

Dress: Ralph Lauren (via T. J. Maxx)
Long-sleeve top: Old
Gold color clutch: J. C. Penny (old)

My second choice is a yellow sleeve-less knit dress with lace shoulder insert from Chadwicks accessorized with a brown cardigan and leopard print sandals and over sized gold color clutch. Now that was easy!! I'm glad I did not have to run off to the store looking for new items like I would have done months ago. Now, I've learnt to shop my closet restyling old forgotten pieces.

It's always fun to dress up and make choices about outfits on a daily basis. Sometimes, it is easy to put something together in seconds and at other times when you have to consider factors like weather, the event and body issues like a growing baby bump, it takes a little bit of consideration...:) Making choices is all part of life but the greatest choice ever that can be made by anyone is that which has to do with the quality of life spent here on earth and that of where to spend eternity. Those days back in school, I used to come across a lot of pens and pencils with the inscription; "What would Jesus Do?" I haven't seen them in a while but the inscription I would like to engrave anywhere right now is; "What would you do with Jesus?"

With these, I leave you with a famous quote from Joshua in the bible.

Joshua 24: 14-16

"14Now, therefore, fear the LORD and serve Him in sincerity and truth; and put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. 15"If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD." 16The people answered and said, "Far be it from us that we should forsake the LORD to serve other gods;…Make the decision today.

Right now, I' still in bed with my lap-top but would be up in a few minutes to go about my busy weekend. I hope you all are having a nice weekend so far. See you again soon and stay blessed.

Jolly Summer

We are having  a gorgeous weather today  and it is just the perfect weather to be outdoors enjoying the sun. I stopped by at McDonald's to get the mango and pineapple smoothie and hit the stores for some window shopping while trying to enjoy my mummy time.  The summer is going great so far and I am enjoying each day as it comes. It is starting to get a little chilly in the evenings and early hours of the morning though and we can not deny the fact that the cold season is gradually creeping up on us.

I'm almost done with my shopping for the fall and winter season and I know I'm ready to weather any storm...:) I got some cute scarves and cardigans  from Loft, booties and sweater dresses from Victoriassecret and  tights from Express. Now I have a couple of get together to attend this weekend and I am still thinking of what to wear. Funny how a lady can have a closet full of clothes and still be at a limbo. I hope you guys are enjoying the jolly summer. Thanks so much for reading and stay blessed.
