         Ⴈ love it when trends recycle because it makes fashion more exciting and it's good for our wallets. The puffy sleeve is one of such trends that has recycled over the years. I purchased this polka dots blouse from Loft a couple of years ago, previously worn here. And to think that it's become a huge trend (puffy sleeves) two years later shows that fashion trends are really like revolving doors. I styled the blouse this time with a pair of white denim pants, green beaded earrings and my Bottega Veneta inspired mules and pouch bag which are my favorite summer accessories. Polka dots henley blouse + distressed bermuda jean shorts

The thing I am going to miss most about summer is the casual, laid back fashion. Summer style is always easy, breezy; wear a dress, sandals and just go or a pair of shorts, a top and sandals and you are on your way. I wore this outfit a few days ago when the weather was still warm and nice. The weather is still beautiful here in my city but it's starting to get cold in the mornings and evenings. Back to this outfit, I purchased this polka dots blouse from LOFT a couple of years ago and have enjoyed styling it in so many ways. As we know, polka dots print was the big prints for the summer and it is still going to be a big trend in the fall too along with animal prints; snake print, leopard prints, cheetah prints... I paired the blouse with a pair of heavily distressed DIY denim bermuda shorts and this pair of black and white high heeled sandals I purchased from Amazon two summers ago. My crochet knit bag from Target completed the look. Crochet is another huge trend to watch for in the spring of 2019. This look is edgy and can be worn to casual events like barbecues, to shopping and for hanging out with hubby or your girlfriends.

Polka dots blouse + High waist pants

Are we tired of the polka dots trend yet? I don't think so. This trend is going right through fall and even if goes away, it will show up again as it has done in previous years. This is the reason why I have so many polka dots pieces in my closet. I wore this blouse to church weeks ago and it is similar to the one I wore here, just a different color. For this look, I paired it with a black color high waist paints which is.....*shhhh* actually a maternity pant. Yup! It is one of my maternity pants I got from Target years ago that I converted to a high waist pants and I didn't even have to do any alterations to it. I completed the look with a black blazer and white pair of sandals; as simple as can be. Don't you love it when you are able to wear old pieces from your closet? Red Polka dots blouse + Red wide legged Pants

Happy Monday Friends. I am still on "Blogcation" so to speak but I somewhat find the time to write posts and schedule them every now and then. I'm not taking blog pictures anymore; these pictures are old pictures taken with my iPhone 6 from my archive and their quality is not great but I intend to continue to use them to update my blog while I am away. See my previous post here. Right now, I'm just enjoying myself with the family engaging in fun activities and a lot of reading is still involved too. I go to the library at the end of every week with the kiddos to get books and I take time to gloss through recent fashion magazines while I am there because I do not have a single magazine subscription. I used to years ago until I realized that it was hard for me to let them go. I had boxes and boxes of old magazines in my house and it took the will of God to finally get rid of them 😅 So, library is where I go to read fashion magazines when I need to and I never touch the ones at waiting rooms at the clinic or car garages or any other lounging area; never! And I do not smoke too just in case you are thinking about that because of the picture below. I just asked one of my kids to take me quick pictures at the entrance of the building and if you squint, you can see the reflection of the kids on the glass door 😀

Happy first day of summer; woot! woot!! 😆 So, now maybe our Minnesota weather would start to behave and give us not-too warm, sunny beautiful days. I decided to celebrate the first day of summer by wearing this polka dot bubble sleeve top from LOFT which has since sold out. The yellow or mustard color of the blouse was an instant shopper's favorite but most ladies including yours sincerely here hate the boxy shape of the blouse. It just adds about 5 pounds to your initial size 😒 It would have been more stylish if the blouse was fitted. After reading the reviews about the blouse, I went a size down like most shoppers suggested but it didn't help much. However, this design and fit miscalculation did not stop the blouse from selling out fast.
