Hello, Hello and Hi Dear

Hello, hello and hi. It sure has been a long time! This might be the longest I have ever stayed away from this blog. I hope everyone is doing great in this crazy world we live in these days. This is a quick post just to say hi. In this post I am wearing this knit dress I styled here a while back on the blog. There is also a video on my Youtube Channel where I showed several ways to style a knit dress. You can check it out here. I hope to be back again sometime soon. Thanks so much for reading.

Shoe Lovin' - Metallic Boots

The holiday season is officially here, and we can say that sparkle season has already began. Metallic, sequin or embellished shoes is part of holiday outfit usually and it is even more so this season. However, the focus has shifted slightly from metallic or sparkly pumps to sparkly boots and booties. And the style can vary from dress boots to western boots to even chelsea boots. Whatever sparkly shoe wear you choose to wear this season, just have fun with it. Thanks so much for reading.

The number one skirt i am wearing right now

Texture, texture, texture...that is what fall fashion is all about; talk about knits and leather, cashmere and faux fur and then denim. However, when we talk about denim this season, we are not talking about the pants. Denim this season is all about the denim skirt and I am not mad about it! 😂

Neutral sweater + black denim

It's sweater weather again and I am excited for this weather every year as always mostly for the beauty of life which is reflected in the beauty in nature and beautiful weather and fun fashion. I have already done my closet edit and my sweaters and knits are all ready to go. The weather has been great in Minneapolis so far and it's just great 💯

Fall Fashion Inspiration: Bold color Hues

Fall is finally here, and I am so excited to get a break from the summer heat and get into fall fashion. This post is a "pre-fall" or transitional outfit inspiration. It is not cold enough to put on boots so this is an outfit that can be styled with sandals or mules.

One of the trend this fall is "deep saturated colors" and "color blocking." This multi color sweater paired with blue cobalt blue skirt can be worn to any event with a switch up of the accessories. For work, you can switch up the open sandals for a pair of pumps or even a pair of boots if you so choose. Happy viewing, happy styling 😀

Brown Pantsuit + Square toe Sandals

I love pantsuits a lot and I think I have them in every color by now. This light brown set is my latest addition and as usual, I decided to style a monochrome look. I wore this outfit to Church a few Sundays ago; the square toe Sandals and faux fur bags added some interest to the monochromatic look. I always say; "texture-mixing" is the key to styling a monochrome look because without the bag and woven sandals, this outfit would be totally boring. This Steve Madden Shearling bag that I previously blogged about here is my "go to" bag this Fall. So far, the weather has been great in my neck of the woods and I hope it is same wherever you are. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Off white sweater + Green khaki Pants

Θne of the things I love about fall fashion is sweater styling. Cozy sweaters over cute bottoms; denim, pants or skirts is the best way to style up this season. Today, I decided to add a bit of color to my fall style with this green color pants. It's boxy and has a straight fit and just the right cut to pair with my light brown suede boots. The green bag is just to add a punch of color to my outfit. Are you into sweaters for fall? Thanks so much for reading.

Camouflage Jacket + Knit Dress

eteran's Day 2020 has an added layer of appreciation and thankfulness for all those who have served and are serving this country every day. These days, a branch of our military namely "National Guards" are helping  out in the fight against Covid-19 by building field hospitals and helping with distribution of essentials. A very big "Thank-You" to all our veterans and a big "Thank-You" to all our essential workers.

In this post, I'm wearing a knit dress from Target  which is actually a free flowing maxi knit dress but I used a belt to cinch my upper midriff and tucked the dress over it to create an illusion of a cropped top and a bottom. I paired the knit dress with a camouflage jacket which is a nod to the current "Shaket" (Shirt-Jacket) trend. My brown combat boots and pouch bag completed the look. What do you think of camouflage jackets or camouflage pieces in general? Besides, we just had our second snowfall of the season a few days ago; a snow storm so early in the season. Thanks so much for reading.

Zebra print Dress + square toed heels

乙ebra prints has taken over leopard prints as a classic fall print and I must say that the print is as classy as it gets. I love the print in brown color the most but do not mind other colors as well like this blue zebra prints dress from John Lewis. It is so stylish and elegant and can be worn just about anywhere in the fall season. I also love this black color zebra prints wrap midi dress; it is just so classy and chic and the sheer texture of the fabric makes it so feminine and romantic; definitely a great dress to wear on a dinner date. Back to my dress, I accessorized the look with black square toed sandals and a simple gold cuff. I completed the look with my soft tan pouch bag from Amazon which has been my go to bag all summer. What do you think of zebra prints; yay or nay? Thanks so much for reading.

How to style: Striped Pant Suit

ϻy love love for pantsuits is deep and I cannot really explain why because I love them just as much as I love dresses. This styling collage was put together by me and shows how I would style a striped brown suit if I owned one. This look can be worn just about anywhere by switching out the accessories to fit the occasion or event that you are attending. For a more formal occasion, I would style a full monochrome look by wearing brown or nude color shoes but for a casual event, the green slingbacks is a perfect pop of color. Brown and tans are going to be a huge trend this fall and if you need more styling inspiration, check out my styling IG here. Happy viewing, happy styling.

Wine color Dress + puffy sleeves

Ⴒuffy sleeves look like a trend that would be around for a long long time and I'm not complaining. I love how stylish and modest the trend is. And like every other trend we are seeing these days, there is nothing new about this style or this trend; it's just a recycled trend from season's past and that's okay. This wine color dress is an old purchase from Loft; from two or three years ago. I love the color, the waist ties and the lace inserts on the sleeves. Certainly, the time has come to tone down the colors for the season and my favorite colors for fall are browns, beige, burgundy, orange and purple. I'll have these colors in mind as I shop for the season. What are your favorite fall colors? Thanks so much for reading.

Smocked, tiered and a crop top

ummer is a time to wear easy, breezy dresses like this tiered, smocked embroidered dress that I  have had in my closet for a long time. I purchased it from a friend years ago that had a small clothing/accessories business. You can always find dresses like this in the stores in the summer time and they have been trending somewhat along with baby doll dresses this summer thanks to H&M. The dress is a strapless dress and since I needed some cover on my shoulders, I threw a small crop top over it. My tan color pouch bag and square toed mules completed the look. Summer is almost over as we know so this brown color is suitable for this sunny weather that is gradually coming to an end. What do you think of the baby doll and tiered dress trend? Please, do not stop in your support of small businesses and black and brown owned businesses. Stay home, stay safe and stop the spread..

The Sweater Dress: A cold weather Closet Essential

If there is a style of dress we have to own in our closet in the cold weather month, it has to be the sweater dress. It is a very comfortable style of dress to wear when the temperatures drop and the styling options are endless. You can pair your sweater dress with a pair of sneakers or flats when the weather is not that cold and you can style with tights and boots when the temperature gets really, really cold. A sweater dress can also be layered with denim jackets, bomber jackets and long coats. The dress I am wearing here is an old piece from my closet and it is in my favorite color purple. I styled it with a pair of black tights and boots and completed the look with tassel earrings and a printed head wrap which is actually in animal prints. Since this is the season for wearing sweater dresses, there are so many options available on sale at different stores and I have linked a few in my shopping links below. However, I was not able to find an affordable sweater dress in a purple or lilac color to add to the list. What are your thoughts on sweater dresses?

Tan color sweater + Brown Culottes

Tan, browns, beige and nudes are typical fall colors which I decided to bring together in this outfit. I am wearing a tan color cable knit sweater, an old purchase from Loft and a dark brown pair of culottes, an old piece from my closet. My accessories are pretty light; a pair of nude pumps, a red mini quilted bag for a pop of color and a printed silk scarf for some interest. Can you believe I forgot to put on a pair of earrings when I got dressed to go out before taking these pics? At other times, I would have been very conscious of my bare ears but with this added printed scarf around my neck, I was just fine. A very simple, laid back outfit I must say. What are your plans for Thanksgiving celebration? Everyday should be Thanksgiving in my book and I have a lot to be thankful to God for starting with his love and mercy and grace on my life and on my family. I thank God for good health and for good friends and I really just thank him for everything. Without God, where would I be? (Nowhere!) What are you thankful to God for?

Happy Birthday to me in my Fall Casual Style

It's my birthday 😃 Words cannot express how grateful and happy I am feeling right now. I thank God for his mercy and love towards me and for his divine love and protection over me and my family and friends.  *insert dancing emoji here** Having my birthday on October 31st which is Halloween holiday in the United States evokes mixed emotions in me whenever my birthday comes around every year because I do not celebrate Halloween. I just do not understand much nor do I like why and how the holiday is celebrated. I like the idea of kids dressing up in fun costumes and getting treats but really, really do not like all the gothic and ghostly décor and all the horror and scare surrounding the holiday and its celebration. I do not like spooky and horror movies too so maybe that's why...And then, statistics show that kids get hurt more on and around Halloween holiday when they go trick or treating especially by drunk drivers who are reckless and negligent. Some states are proposing limiting the age of kids who can trick or treat on Halloween to under twelve years probably to limit the number of kids on the streets on Halloween. Forgive me for my rant if you are into Halloween but please, be safe and pray for your kids before you send them out. I thank God the celebration is optional too as with other holidays 😊 The celebration that is not optional for me however, is my birthday. I'm glad I was able to have an enjoyable day with my family.

Styling the snake print trend with a small accessory

The snake print trend is gradually pushing the leopard prints trend into the shadows; you see it everywhere at least on social media; boots, clothing, bags...This trend can be overwhelming if it is not done right and that is why this post is on how to style the snake print trend using a small accessory like a belt. The belt might be a very casual piece or small accessory but it does add interest to an outfit. For this look, I cinched my lilac color cardigan on the waist with a snake skin skinny belt and paired the cardigan with a lace dress converted into a skirt by the layering; another way of restyling our dresses as a transition piece. I like to add bursts of color to my wardrobe in the fall and my go to color is usually blue but this season, I have been drawn to lilacs and purple; the pastel color that was on trend in the spring. I completed my look with a pair of sparkly earrings from J. Crew and by the way, my cardigan is from J.Crew too but it has since sold out. You can check the shopping links below if you are interested in this pairing. Purple and lilac are some of my favorite colors. Also, I have not gotten into boots quite yet this fall because the weather still allows for a simple pair of mules like the pair I am wearing; haha!😜

Velvet blazer + Floral Pumps

Happy Monday everyone; I hope the new week is going great. I'm just going to do a quick post on what I wore to Church yesterday; this burgundy color velvet blazer paired with black tie-neck blouse and black denim trouser. Yeah, this pants are really denim and very, very comfy and I like them a lot because they can pass for dress pants. The blazer does have a lot of fashion roles to play in this outfit. First of all, it adds a pop of color to the outfit, secondly

White sweater + Grey Pants

The old Fashion rule says "do not wear white color clothing after Memorial day holiday" but no one adheres to that anymore. You can wear white whenever you want even in the snow. While it has not snowed yet in my city, it certainly has been cold and all my sweaters are out but the heavy, long coats are still hanging pretty in the closet; not time for those yet. So, I wore this outfit a few days ago; white cowl neck sweater over grey

Fall Color-block Style

Happy Saturday everyone; I'm so excited today; just a couple days to my birthday. I am really grateful to God for his blessings on my life. My life is not perfect, I don't have everything I think I need or want but I am grateful. I am thankful for life and I am happy in life. God's word says; "in every thing, give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." (I Thessalonians 5:18) I am very thankful for this blog and I appreciate the fact that it's my safe space where I can share whatever I want to share. Here, I am able to talk about the three things I love and am passionate about; Faith, Family and Fashion.

Now unto this outfit; I decided to style a color-block look with Fall basic essentials; a sweater, denim or in this case, corduroy pants, a hat and a pair of boots. It's Saturday and the best outfit to chill or run errands in are the basics. I'm loving blue as a Fall color this season because the hue creates an unexpected pop of color to the usual earthly tones and shades around. The best way in making this color work is by incorporating it into your item through one piece; a hat, a sweater, a bag or if you are more daring; your shoes. The recent trend I have been seeing is the "blue velvet boots." It is very chic and edgy when paired with dresses and pleated
