Plaid Paper bag Pants + a Sweater

Happy Monday Friends 😙 So, this is just a quick work wear post of one of my favorite colors to wear in the Fall; grey. This time, I decided to style the color in two of the season's trends; plaid prints and paper-bag pants. I always like it when I can fit two trends seamlessly into an outfit effortlessly. When done right, it gives a very clean and polished look. If you get the styling wrong, there is that perception that you are trying too hard or as some would call it, you are a "trend...wh--e" or "label...wh--e;" without spelling out the whole word. The trick to achieving this look (two-trends-in-one) starts right from when you do your shopping. Always look out for that piece that can serve multiple functions or that accessory that can be styled in different ways. When you get that one piece

Pink Blazer + Cropped White Denim

Happy Wednesday Friends; I hope your week is going great; spring is just around the corner; time to get out the colors. Hot pink is a color that is trending now and I decided to pair this old thrifted blazer that has been in my closet for a while with this white cropped denim pants from Loft. Pink can be paired beautifully with black, white, blue, emerald and a few other colors. Pink and white screams spring to me

Polka Dots + Red wide-leg Pants

Happy Wednesday Friends, I hope the week is going great. I do not celebrate Valentine on February 14th as I believe Love should be celebrated any day and everyday; so, I did not make much fuss about it here on the blog. I have been married for over ten years and I have two boys and two girls ranging from ages three to ten and I strongly believe that love should be celebrated between couples especially on anniversaries and birthdays. If February 4th Valentine celebration happens to be one of the special days you celebrate with your spouse; it is perfectly okay.

My outfit for the day is a polka dots blouse tucked into a pair of red wide legged pants purchased from Victoriassecret years ago. They are the most comfortable and trendy pants ever and the quality is amazing; definitely the perfect work pants. The polka dots blouse is from Loft and currently sold out but I have included links of similar items below the pics if you want to check them out. This outfit is feminine and chic at the same time and definitely appropriate for work in a corporate setting on Valentine's day or day after Valentines. Keep spreading the love 💞

Blue Blazer + Grey flared pants

Happy Wednesday 😘 Just a quick post here today on another work wear outfit. I'm wearing a dark blue color blazer over a pair of grey wide leg pants. The grey pant is actually a part of a two piece pant suit ensemble but I ditched the grey blazer for this blue blazer to create a color block effect. Grey is such a cool color to wear in the winter season but I wasn't in the mood for a two piece monochrome look. The blue blazer is a thrifted piece and my pant is an old purchase from Nordstrom. Click on the link to shop similar items for work.

Valentine day is around the corner I know but it is not a holiday I celebrate so, I'm not doing any outfit inspiration for valentine. However, red and black  are colors that always work for valentine and if you need more inspiration; check out my style boards on Polyvore when you click the style board link on the right of this blog. You can also check out my style boards on my second Instagram feed; @beautyfashionzone. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Plaid Jacket + Sweater Dress

Happy Tuesday Friends 😃 This is just a quick work wear post. Like I said in my previous post; the snow is starting to melt and we are experiencing a  brief warm-up in what our meteorologists call the "January thaw." So, I decided to ditch the boots for this block heeled pumps. As we know, block heels are trending but this pair I have on is a bit old and what I love about it is the wooden heels; I can step on slushy snow and not be scared that my shoe heels would be ruined. So, this pair gets its turn over and over during the winter season and it does add a pop of color to any outfit too.

For the rest of the outfit, I just threw a plaid jacket over a tan color sweater dress and since the weather is still cold and dry, I put on a pair of polka dot stockings. This is a very formal and yet fun outfit. I could have used a belt on the sweater dress too but I decided not to because the dress has an elaborate turtle neck and a belt around the waist though stylish, would have been a bit stuffy and uncomfortable. I shop my closet a lot during the winter season and there will be more winter fashion styling on here. Thanks so much for stopping by here and for your thoughts/comments. I love you for reading 😙

Blue Plaid Coat

I had the opportunity to wear this blue plaid coat; one of my favorite coats at the beginning of fall. I got it last Spring at the end of season sales and it was quite a good discount although I do not remember the exact amount I paid for it. I love the great blue color and the bold collar. These pictures do not show its real beauty and I look forward to taking pictures of it again with a better camera. I paired it with one of my favorite jeans too that I blogged about here. The great thing I like about this coat is that; it can be worn over formal and casual outfits with ease and I like the tie belt in front.

Tee and Pumps: Victorias secret (old)

If you are looking to winter buy coats; the end of season is the right time to shop. The only downside about waiting at the end of the season to snag a sale is that; there are always limited sizes and colors available at that time. Just a couple of days to Christmas; I'm so excited. My baby turns 2 also on Christmas day. God has been good to me.

Fall Floral

I decided to wear this Chicwish skirt I purchased last summer again this week and the weather was cloudy so my cell phone pictures did not come out right but I decided to blog them anyway. (My blog is a personal fashion diary so it is okay to show case the good and the bad). I wore this skirt a few days ago because I gave myself the challenge to wear pink the whole week to draw awareness to breast cancer and I decided to throw this floral mix in. The sandals I am wearing are actually dark pink but they turned out red in some of the pictures. Also, it is my birthday on Saturday and I am celebrating every day because it is just so awesome to be alive. I thank God for his greatness in my life; I am not going to complain; I am blessed and I am counting all my blessings.

The weather has been somewhat mild here and it is not quite fall weather yet according to Minnesota standards...:-). I am going to get myself organized this weekend and get all my boots and booties together. This outfit would look good with some high heeled boots or booties too. Do you notice my coat is rumpled in the last picture too?  hehe...lol

I wish you great tidings for the rest of the week. This month is almost ended and we are at the end of the year; amazing how time flies...

White House/Black Market Skirt

Happy Wednesday; I hope your day is shiny and bright as it is over here in my neck of the woods. I made a note to myself to feature more work outfits on the blog and I am keeping to my promise. Like I say all the time, fashion blogging to me is a hobby and I'm just trying to have fun here on the blog so I do not claim to be a professional stylist...:-).

I am wearing here an old skirt from Whit House/Black Market that I purchased a couple of years ago. This store (White House/Black Market) always fascinates me because I think the name is so cute and unique and I always ensure I visit the store whenever I am in a mall that has one. However, their items are a little steep in price and most often than not, I just "windowshop" in there. This skirt is one of the few items I have purchased from the store and I do not remember how much I paid for it but the quality and design is great. I love the embellished leaf design on the hem; very "Fallfashion"...:-).

I paired it with a black utility blouse I purchased from Loft and this pair of heels with spikes; the spiked heels are definitely not appropriate for work though. I saw a lady put on a pair of spiked flats a few days ago and that is why I dug into my closet and got mine out. So, maybe spikes are making a "Comeback?"

Striped blazer and denim

Hi Friends, thanks so much for stopping by here today. I hope the weather is beautiful wherever you are. We are experiencing some calm in the twin cities right now although there has been some snow flurries here and there but nothing major compared to the storm that we experienced earlier on in the week. There is about two to three inches expected tomorrow though and that means the winter is officially here in MN. **Yep!!**

Jeans: Citizen of humanity Emmanuelle
Blazer: Venus
Hobo Bag: Simply Vera by Vera Wang
Booties: Aldo
Ribbed Henly top: VS (old)
Bracelet: old

There is so much sunshine now that sun glasses might be needed through out the whole day. I apologize for the shadows in the pic; I couldn't do much editing with my iPad which I used to take the pics; thanks to my three year old daughter.

I was wearing old and trusted items from my closet again...:-).  I have had this stripped blazer for a while now and I'm surprised that it is virtually sold out everywhere. It is such a cool piece that it can go with anything. The old henly ribbed long sleeve tee is from Victorias secret and I have it in a couple other colors; wore a different color in this post here. They are warm and comfy and come in handy during the cold season.

Luke 8: 22-23

Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he (Jesus) went into a ship with his disciples; and he said unto them, let us go over unto the other side of the lake and they launched forth. But as they sailed, he fell asleep; and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water and were in jeopardy.

And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, Master, we perish. Then he arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm.
