Long Brown Coat + Brown Accessories and How to stay happy while social distancing

Ħappy Monday Friends. It's another week, another Monday and where do I even begin? The world is at a different place and history is happening right in front of our eyes; very bad history. The Coronavirus Pandemic is like a Hollywood horror movie happening right before our eyes. There would have been so much excitement about spring right now and everyone trying to enjoy the outdoors because we all have been hibernating in the winter time but we cannot do that; we cannot run around outdoors enjoying the warmer weather. Everyone has to do some social distancing at this time to stop the spread of  this virus and flatten the curve and with this, I say happy Monday again.

Styling a knit dress all through summer

Hi everyone, I hope we are all doing great. It's been raining a lot here in Minnesota and the amount of rain we have had so far is quite unusual for spring time. There has also been unusual rain and flooding in the south and I pray God to comfort all the victims at this difficult time and I thank God for preserving the lives of many that were in the path of the storm; it could have been worse. I know there has been substantial loss of property but all those can be replaced. It's our precious lives that matter most. Please, let's remember everyone in our prayers.

How I styled my neon Pant Suit

Can you tell by now that I really love the neon or lime green color trend? Well, sort of....😊 As you may well know if you a frequent reader of this blog; I just love to try on trends especially if I am shopping from my closet. This neon pant suit comprises of separates; a lime green color eyelet blazer that I thrifted years ago and a neon green racer back tank top from Old Navy and this lime green cropped denim pants I purchased from Victorias' Secret years ago when it had a clothing line. The statement piece in the entire outfit is this Betsey Johnson Sandals that I blogged about recently. The floral design and black and white stripes on the heeled sandals make it a show stopper. I think this is my best Betsey Johnson shoe purchase yet and I love that her shoe line is an affordable alternative to Sophia Websters which also features whimsical and fun shoes like this pair. This floral sandals are currently on sale though they are sold out in most of the sizes. The tip I have for styling neon pantsuit is to style textures into the outfit to make the outfit interesting. One way of adding textures is by using pieces from different fabrics like I did with my blazer and bottom or using accessories made from unique materials or fabric like I did with my shoes. I wore this outfit to Church last Sunday and my eight year old daughter took these pictures with my iPhone.

Shoe Lovin,' - Embellished Sandals

So, I have been posting about embellished shoes for a while now and this floral embellished sandal probably tops all the affordable embellished shoes that I have shared on here in recent times. It is just beautiful and whimsical and it's got so much texture; stripes, florals, color blocking and being a sandal, it is ideal for the spring and summer season. This beautiful piece is a creation of the renowned Fashion Designer, Betsey Johnson who has a very whimsical and eccentric design style. Her shoes are stylish and affordable at the same time and if you are into eclectic design or style, you can check out her brand. This embellished sandal would be great for prom, showers and weddings. The Pearl Earrings Trend

Pearls have been statement jewelry for centuries back and are highly regarded as status jewelry. Their value and price has made them special occasion jewelry; to be worn when there is a very special event and then kept in a safe box. This is true of real, genuine pearls; however, faux pearl or fake pearls have also been around for years and while they are not of great value, they are beautiful to look at and can also be as stylish as the real ones. Some pearls are encrusted with real diamonds or other valuable stones like this cultured fresh water pear drop earrings  that retails for about $800 because it has diamond accents in it and this some what similar set  that retails for about $450. Now that pearl earrings are trending, you do not have to splurge on expensive sets. Above are faux pearls that are beautiful and stylish to look at but do not cost a bunch. Click on the product information below to get more information on the sets. Happy viewing, happy shopping.

Styling Leopard Prints Pants in the Winter

Hi everyone, just a quick post here to start off the week and it's about styling the leopard prints pants for work. I wore this same pants months ago in the fall with just a simple white sweater and a pair of boots. This time, I decided to style it for winter by layering an oversized sweater over it and throwing a long brown coat on for extra warmth. In my opinion, I think the color of sweater and coat works for this season. My dark green bag adds a punch of color to this outfit which otherwise would be very simple and demure though appropriate for the weather. My brown faux suede ankle boots have been in good rotation this season because they are very comfortable and stylish at the same time. The boots are great quality for the price and it's not surprising that it sold out real fast. You can check it out here to see if it has been restocked. I hope you are enjoying a great weather wherever you are. It's a new week, let's make it a great one.

Happy New Year: Blue Sequin Dress + Glitter heels

Happy New Year Friends 😁 It's 2019! I had a beautiful New Year celebration and I'm also well rested. My hubs and I and the kids did a lot of bonding during the holidays; we watched movies together, cooked together, went out to eat and just spent quality time together. We also had an amazing dinner at a restaurant on Christmas day to celebrate my son's birthday. I'm going to make this first Post of the year very short because I do not have new year resolutions. Like I said in my previous post, I just want to be a better me in the new year. I want to love God more, love my family more and love people more. My main change is going to be on the blog as I plan to share more life style posts. I also plan to shop less from now henceforth and to spend more time exploring ways of creating affordable and glamorous looks from pieces that I already own. I want to do more of DIYs and other kinds of creative styling and I hope to share all on here.

" I also plan to give more of my time volunteering for good causes and also plan to share God's word more than I ever did before. Sharing God's word is sharing Love to others and we all know that the world needs more LOVE. "

Work wear Monday: What to wear to Work in the Holiday Season

Grey and black are my favorite colors to wear in the cold weather season and also my favorite color combination for work wear. For this look, I wore a regular work wear; a grey pant suit with black color turtle neck top. I purchased the pant suit a couple of summers ago from The Limited and my top is a recent purchase from Boohoo. The top went on sale recently and I purchased up to five colors. The quality is great and it was such a good discount. High neck, turtle neck or roll neck tops are essential pieces to have in the fall and winter season because they not only keep you warm, they are stylish as well. To add a little holiday style to my work wear, I completed my look with a pair of black glitter sock ankle boots which really did not photograph well. My hubs gifted the boots to me last Christmas and they are definitely my favorite pair of boots right now. The glitter boots or pumps is a fun way to add a holiday accessory into your work wear. A faux croc embellished bag made this look office ready. Have a blessed week.

What to wear on a very cold Fall Day

If you live in a region like me where the fall weather quickly turns into winter before the official start time, you might have your winter coats and scarfs laid out already. A long coat or robe coat is a must have outer wear for a very cold day. A good quality wool coat or cashmere can cost over a thousand dollars in high end stores and a wool blend or equivalent cashmere blend can cost upper hundreds but it can be a good investment because you will get a warm cozy coat that you can wear for years. I must say too that; the shorter the coat, the cheaper it is. You can get more affordable styles online in UK stores like Asos and Misguided.

Leopard Prints Sandals + Red belt bag

So, the leopard prints trend seems not to be going anywhere and I have got no problem with it. The style or trend is more interesting this season because it is being styled in fresh new ways than it has ever been; beautiful clothing pieces with great silhouettes, draping, blazers, pants, dresses...Another styling trend is the different hue or shades of the print. I like white color leopard prints trend like the blazer I wore in my previous post here and the calf hair pumps I wore in this post  here. For this look, I combined two trends; a pair of calf hair sandals; an old purchase from Macys and a belt bag which is actually a DIY piece. I tucked in the straps into the bag, left the bag open and sneaked it behind a red belt I used to cinch my waist then shut the bag close with the clasp. I took some pictures of the process and would do a post on it some other time. My aim on this blog from now on is to share more money saving tips and affordable fashion. Can I say again that this off white blazer was thrifted years ago? The turtle neck short sleeve sweater is an old purchase from Nordstrom and a similar style is currently on sale for 50% at Boohoo.

Red Pant Suit + Leopard Prints Shirt

It's no secret that red complements leopard prints beautifully; they are like a match made in heaven. I had not worn this red pant suit in a long time but the recent trend in leopard prints made me dig into my closet for the pant and the blazer which are separates by the way. The pants are an old purchase from the Victorias Secret Body by Victoria collection via the catalogue (such a great fit and quality) and the red oversized blazer is an old thrift find. The two pieces cost less than a $100. I remember getting the red pants on sale for about $69.99 and the blazer cost about $6.99 and the quality of the blazer is great too. These days, a good quality two-piece suit would set you back between $150-$300.

Floral tulle lace dress + Straw Clutch

Hi everyone, happy Friday 😀 I hope the week has been going great for you. This is a very quick post here showing this tulle dress I wore for Mother's Day this year and also to my friend's 40th birthday celebration a couple of weeks ago. I wore a similar dress last year to a different birthday party and I blogged about it here This dress here along with the blue color piece are the only tulle dresses I own. Remember when tulle skirts and dresses was a huge trend in 2015 and 2016? I loved the trend so much and looked out for a grown-up way to wear it since it was more popular with the millennial and twenty-somethings 😂 I got my wish in this dress; very chic and fun in my opinion. I accessorized the dress with a straw clutch from J. Crew Factory which has since sold out and this lovely pair of wine colored sandals from Go Jane. The sandals are so comfy, chic and affordable that I purchased them in the champagne and purple color. What plans do you have for the weekend? 'like I mentioned in my previous post, Ill be busy organizing my fall and winter closet for myself and other members of my family. Thank you so much for stopping by here; have a blessed weekend.
