Veering into Vintage

⺄t's been a while on here; it's been ages...haha! 😆 How has everyone been? Did anyone think for a minute that I was done with fashion blogging? I hope not! 😂 It's exactly four months and a few days since I published a blog post. I have been so busy behind the scenes. I had a very beautiful summer which culminated in a four day trip to Disney Land with the hubby and kiddos on the last week of summer, days before labor day.

The wedge sandal has been a classic for the summer season "since forever" (pardon my descriptive language) and can be considered a summer essential or wardrobe staple; somewhat of a necessity. Well, this summer, the wedge sandal is a huge trend along with other platform sandals and many fashion retailers have released their versions and designs for the summer. Splashed in florals for Summer

        This floral midi dress is what I wore for Easter, purchased from Stylewe months ago. It is the perfect summer dress suitable for events like weddings and showers. It is also the perfect dress to take with you on vacation. I love the splash of color which though very bold, does not detract from the simplicity of the dress. Denim + Neon

Neon might just be one of my favorite color this season, second to lilac or purple. I am looking forward to styling it as a pop of color for most of my looks this summer. And looking back on the blog and into my closet, I found out that I have styled a couple of neon looks over the years and my closet does have a good number of neon or lime green pieces. One way I intend to style the color this season, is by pairing it with denim as I did here in this throwback photo. The denim on denim look is a classic when it comes to styling casual style and a good way of making the style your own is with the use of accessories. I paired my denim blazer with a fitted pair of denim pants and a black tee and felt the outfit needed a statement piece; so then came the statement piece or accessory, the neon sandals. A flashback look to a Spring Date Night Outfit

Happy Friday everyone 😁 and welcome back to my blog. Like I said in one of my recent posts, I was gone on blog vacation for exactly two months. The last time I was fully active on the blog via published post was here. And my first post back was this one right here. If you are wondering why there are so many posts between, it's because I published them when I got back on active blogging. So, it is safe to say it was not a full blog vacation, it was somewhat a partial one because I was taking pictures and writing blog posts every day while I was away. My blog has become my personal diary and I feel like I have to write something in it everyday. I must say I am addicted to Blogging at this time 😎 The only difference was that I archived my posts in the draft folders while I was away and published them when I got back. So, there is so much to read and catch up on. Just get a snack and a drink and read and browse away.

How I styled my clear Shoes.

Clear shoes have been around for a long time but they have become a huge trend this spring and I am not complaining. I have loved this trend for a while because it is so classy and edgy and creates interest for any outfit. I also love the fact that clear shoes are super versatile as you can find them in any style to pair with your outfit for work or for play. I even spotted a pair of clear sneakers recently on line. This post is on how I have styled this trend in the past. In the picture above, I paired a pair of black clear sandals with a grey leopard prints tunic and a pair of denim. The blouse is somewhat busy because of the print and the clear shoes tones down the outfit a bit. Since the straps are clear, it creates a false illusion of bare feet thereby making for an interesting look. You can click on the links below the pictures below to read the original post.

Styling Neutrals: Tweed Waist tie Coat + Wide legged Pant

Monochrome styling is one of my favorite way of styling neutrals aside from pairing them with whites like I did here in a similar styling. However, when styling neutral colors like tan, beige and light browns, it is essential to mix textures into the outfit or the whole look would look like a uniform. In my styling here, I wore a tan color turtle neck top that I wore and talked about here over tan colored trousers and pumps and threw on an oversized tweed tie waist coat over the look. Tweed we know, is very rich in texture and the leopard prints bag also has some texture to it. All these pieces together add some interest to the outfit. The tweed coat is an old purchase from Target which comes in quite handy every winter. I was not able to find affordable tweed coats to link up to this post so I linked khaki trench coats instead. White teddy coat + White knit dress + Styling trends

The teddy bear coat has been trending for a while now and I have had this off white teddy coat in my closet in ages along with this off white sweater dress that I have styled on this blog so many times, first time in this blog post. And just an aside; it is very important for us to take care of whatever belongs to us, but not in a selfish way though. Let go of things you need to let go off and take care of the things you need to keep. I took care of this beautiful knit dress I purchased from Victorias' Secret over ten years ago and that is why I still have it in my closet today.

Shoe Lovin'

I have been loving embellished shoes al lot lately to the extent that I even did some DIY on a couple of my pumps like the one I wore in this post here. So, when I saw this black embellished pumps on the Nordstrom website, it was pretty much love at first sight. I love the combination of faux silver and cymbals embellishment and this would look great paired with denim and a white tee or paired with an all black outfit.
