Brown Coat + Animal prints pencil skirt

One of my favorite fashion essentials in the cold winter months aside from boots is a long winter coat. I talk about winter coats a lot on this blog and have given tips on how to get good deals on them. This long brown coat is one of my favorites to wear in the fall and winter months because the color goes with all my neutral pieces or animal prints outfits.

I paired it with leopard prints pencil skirt, a white turtle neck sweater, brown boots (which are square toed by the way) and a bright orange color bag for a pop of color. Thanks so much for reading. Have you read any verse from your Bible today? God's word is food for our souls.

How to style Spring Florals

Florals can be worn in any season even if it is winter or spring; it just depends on how it is styled. Usually, I wear my dark colored florals in the fall and winter season and lighter florals in the spring and summer. In this post I am wearing my dark florals in spring; a floral pencil skirt I purchased from White House, black Market a while back.

In the winter months, I would pair the skirt with a black sweater or blazer but I chose to pair it with a white sweater now because it is spring and spring calls for lighter colors.  in order to elevate the spring styling a little more, I added the earrings as a pop of color. How is everyone doing? I hope you are doing great? I pray to God to guide and protect us as we go through this Pandemic. Thanks so much for reading.

How to create a no fuss all black Outfit for the Holiday

t's a few days to Christmas and the new year and this is not the time to be running around trying to find yourself an outfit to wear to a Christmas holiday event. The holiday is a time to be merry and a time to be with family and friends so, do not sweat anything if you do not have an outfit figured out yet; just take a deep breath and relax. At times when you are in need of a quick outfit and do not have any outfit in mind, just do the default outfit; all black. An all black outfit is very safe for any event. To make it holiday ready, think sequins, tulle and velvet

Floral Sequin blouse + Black midi pencil Skirt

I know it is Tuesday and not the end of the week yet but I really needed to do this throwback post to this sequin floral blouse I wore sometime last month. The weather is all dreary around here and all I have been wearing are sweaters and long coats as you can see from my previous posts on the blog but this post here is just to add a fun look to the blog and really, believe me when I tell you that this outfit was fun to style and wear. It's a look I wore to Church weeks ago and though there was so much snow around in the background, the weather was bearable and I also had on a long black coat which I did not include in the pictures. The floral sequin blouse is a thrifted piece I blogged about here a few weeks ago. I paired it with a black midi pencil skirt, a recent purchase from Target and completed the look with an Asos belt and black suede pumps.

White turtle neck Sweater + Black Pencil Skirt

The pencil skirt is a closet essential and there are very good reasons why every lady should have one or two in her closet. It is a classic piece that can be dressed up or down, formal or casual and it's so versatile when it comes to styling. I realized last summer that my closet was in need of a black midi pencil skirt and I was on the lookout for an affordable piece of great quality. I talked about this skirt in my recent Winter Wish List and if you need one, check it out here.  For this post, I styled my pencil skirt with a white ribbed turtle neck sweater and a pair of ankle boots. This is a simple way to style a pencil skirt for winter in the winter season. My dark brown wool coat made the pairing of a plain black and white outfit more interesting. I added the red fringe statement earring for a pop of color. The weather was a bit bearable when I wore this outfit so I did not have to wear some tights or stockings. A pair of black knee high boots is a good choice too when it is really cold and you need to add more layers to the outfit.

Sequin Skirt + Glitter Pumps

I wish Christmas and New year was celebrated multiple times in a year; hands down my favorite holidays. This outfit is one of my holiday outfits that I wore to Church last Sunday and I decided to do a Flashback Friday look by sharing it on the blog today. The dark blue sequin pencil skirt is from Ann Taylor and it is currently on sale.  I love the midnight blue color of the sequin skirt. It is somewhat heavy but well made and durable. I paired it with a black cowl neck sweater previously styled here and glitter pumps to achieve a simple look. The blue glitter pumps are a recent addition from DSW and I glammed them up by adding shoe clips that I ordered from Amazon. I love how this shoes pair nicely with this skirt and it also pairs well with another piece in my closet that I blogged about here.

How I re-styled my sequin pencil Skirt

Happy Friday Friends; I hop you are all doing great. This is the second outfit I styled for the new year; a sequin pencil skirt previously worn here as a Christmas holiday outfit. I knew the temperature was going to dip in the week of the  new year holiday and I figured styling the sequin mesh skirt with a thick cowl neck sweater and a pair of ankle boots was going to do but nah, the weather was terribly cold and it was minus 2 degrees by New year eve night so I abandoned this outfit after taking pictures of it and wore a black leather pencil skirt, sweater and boots instead similar to what I wore here. My brown ankle boots paired with the sequins skirt was purchased recently after I wrote this post here and my Chloe Bag is a birthday gift.  My third outfit that I styled and planned for New year eve is what I would be wearing to Church on Sunday since the weather did not permit it to be worn  on New Year's Eve.

How to style lilac for Work

The Lilac color is everywhere; you can't help not noticing the color trend. This is a quick post on how to style the trend for work. I purchased this pencil skirt from JCrew a few years back from the No. 2 Pencil skirt collection in double serge cotton. The skirt has a great fit and is very comfy. I paired it with a neck-bow-tie blouse from Loft and accessorized with this straw bag that I have been carrying all spring and nude pumps. The tip to styling lilac for work especially in a corporate work environment is to get one piece in the color; maybe a bottom piece like pants, culottes, or skirt or in a top like a blazer or a blouse. You can also do accessories like a pair of lilac shoes or a bag.

How to look glam in ten minutes for New Year's Party

So, just a quick post here; happy new year everyone 😙 While we are all getting ready for the new year and spending time with our loved ones, we shouldn't forget that it's easy to get carried away and start to splurge on new clothing and accessories that become big regrets later. This blog is all about saving money and this post is on how to get ready quickly for that new year dinner by re-styling and wearing clothes that are already in our closet.

For this look, I wore my sequin dress that I got as a gift from hubby a couple of years ago and re-styled it as a top for my pencil midi skirt. The dress would have been too short to wear on its own anyway and I remember I had worn tights underneath with thigh high boots for a different holiday party a couple of years ago. I added my sparkly drop earrings from Jcrew, a sparkly clutch from TJ Maxx, a pair black of stockings from Loft and a pair

Beige and Brown Outfit

Hello everyone...:-) I hope you are doing great. Just a quick post on what I wore to Church a while back. I started out by trying to style a monochrome beige look then just threw on the brown off-shoulder-blouse last minute. The end result was some sort of color block look rather than monochrome.
