Denim Dress + White Accessories

 

       Denim is having a big moment this season as you can tell from all the denim pieces you see around in the streets and on the runways; denim skirts, blazers, shirts, jumpsuits, vests, dresses, accessories...denim is just everywhere. If you are into this trend, you don't need to spend much to get into it as you can find good quality denim pieces from second hand or thrift stores or just dig deep into your closet; you just might find that one piece you purchased years ago and then hope that it still fits; haha! 😊

The new must-have Accessory

       ϻasks are the number one accessory we just can't leave home without these days because their importance in limiting the spread of the Covid-19 virus cannot be overemphasized according to the CDC. Lately, I found use for my old scarfs by converting them into face masks like I did in these pictures. There has been so many videos made on how to convert a scarf or piece of cotton fabric into face mask without sewing and if you have not yet seen any of the videos, just do a Google or YouTube search. In this outfit, I'm wearing a chambray (light denim) dress shirt over a pair of denim shorts and a pair of slides which has somewhat become a summer uniform for me. Whenever I'm not in a cotton top and denim, I'm usually in a cotton or linen dress. For me, comfort is key this summer and since we are not going anywhere anyways, I put comfort over style. I completed the look with the hobo straw bag and I love the simple, natural look it gives to the whole outfit. This outfit can be worn to the grocery store on a hot summer day and is even great for just lounging around in the house or sitting on the porch. Summer Essentials: A dress, sunglasses, sandals and a straw bag

We all have definitely laid out our summer wardrobe by now because we are in mid summer but if you are still in limbo; just know that a dress, a pair of sandals and a handbag which would be a straw bag this year, is really all you need in the summer month. The dress can be in any print or color you want but it has to be made of summer friendly fabric like cotton and linen. Last summer, gingham and stripe dresses were trending and this summer, it is the ruffle dress. If you want a classic summer dress that never goes out of style, think denim or chambray dresses. A dark shade (color) denim dress would never go out of style in the summer and with the right accessories, you can just about wear it anywhere; work, school, party. Casual Denim

What else is more casual than a denim dress? You can't beat it. For those days when you don't feel like wearing a pair of denim jeans, the little denim dress is quite a great option. I made the look even more casual by throwing on a pair of black and white slip-ons and this zebra stripes messenger bag.  I think the denim dress should be a staple in every woman's closet; they come in different styles too; A-line shaped, shirt dress, full dress, pleated...just name it.
