Smmer Dress + Fringe Sandals

Hi friends; happy Monday. This is post is on pictures that have been in my archive for a long time; possibly from last summer and I totally forgot to blog about them. Usually when I'm going out somewhere, I hand my phone to the kids and have them take a couple pics before we get in the car and most of the time, I just forget about the pictures. I recently did some house cleaning on my blog folders and found lots of old pictures. What a great fashion blogger I am 😂 There are

Purple Dress and purple sandals

Well, I was the purple lady a while back 😉 I wore this purple monochrome look and completed the look with a black and white floral bag. Purple happens to be my favorite color yet I do not have a lot of purple pieces in my wardrobe. I have owned this dress for years; maybe about eight years...🙈 and I just could not find myself donating it. For one, I am still glad that I can fit into it. So, it is some kind of weight control piece for me; haha! 😛 The day

Fringe it..

When I first noticed that the fringed trend was on this fall, I had mixed reaction or a love and hate reaction to it. First of all, I felt the trend was too bohemian and should be left alone in the sixties or seventies where it belongs; then I changed my mind when I started to see fringed booties and shoes. This pair I am wearing here was purchased at Zulily and it was my first time of shopping at this store and I would say that I had an amazing experience with this online store. All the items I purchased were affordable and of very good quality.

Now back to this outfit; I decided to pair this fringed sandals with my thrifted tassel belt and this grape color dress I purchased from TJ Maxx years ago. I threw in my multi strand necklace I purchased from DSW. I realized that the look was a little heavy and decided to take out the earrings. The weather was very nice a few days ago when I wore this outfit so I did not need a jacket when I went out.

I do not know how long the fringed trend is going to be around but I am glad I was able to put together this outfit without breaking the bank. Trends come and go; let's see how long this would stay. Have you purchased any fringed item lately?

Dots n Red

Hi Friends, I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Mine was very quiet; I spent yesterday just lazing around the house eating and sleeping and then I went to church this morning. This is what I wore. The high waist pencil skirt has been in trend for a while along with the cropped top. Since I do not own any of these items, I had the idea to "fake" the trend and after going through my closet last night, this is what I came up with. The high waist pants I'm wearing is actually the maternity pants I bought from Target when I was pregnant. I just pulled the stretchy waist over my white and black polka dot  blouse to fake a cropped top look over high waist pants. It's a subtle nod to the current trend and I'm glad that I still get to put my maternity pants to use. I'll be styling it as a jumpsuit next...:-)

Casual day, prayer day.

Hi friends, I'm back in cobalt blue and metallic silver but first of all, I want to say a big "thank-you" to everyone who stopped by to read and comment on my last post. It was nice reading all those comments. I would stop by to visit everyone in no time. My 12 weeks FMLA is done and I went back to work last week. I must say I had fun while I was on leave and I was able to bond with my baby and my family. Also, I'm glad that I was able to weather all the snow storms of the season in my warm comfy bed...:-) If you have driven in a snow storm or just after a storm, you will surely know that it is not fun. I know most people are just tired of the snow and cold already and are ready for the warm weather. My plan for the summer includes spending time with my family and friends, working out at the gym (I need to lose all this excess baby weight...:-)) and shopping and more shopping..:-)

Usually, I do not wear denim to church unless it is a  mid-week prayer service but there are exceptions to the rule..:-) and last Sunday had to be such an exception. Instead of having a formal church service, we sometimes have prayer services on Sunday and casual wear is allowed. It's just like when we wear jeans to casual events or to go play at the park but this time, we wear jeans to go to pray. "Pray hard because prayer changes all situation." More so, a prayerful Christian is a powerful Christian.

So, this denim pants that kind of look like "dress pants" is very appropriate for any semi-formal occasion. I topped it with a white blouse and the cobalt blue jacket I bought from Forever 21 a while back. My old Calvin Klein metallic silver shoes finished the look and I like how it matched the buttons on my jacket. The tribal prints scarf was added at the last minute and the oatmeal color kind of complemented the shoes. A casual and fun outfit at the same time.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog. Enjoy the rest of the week.

Wine Top and Denim Casual Look

Hi, I hope everyone is doing great in Blogsville.  I did mention in my earlier Posts that I own a lot of dresses and very few pants and this is another casual denim look; very simple look. I'm wearing a wine color peplum top with straps at the waist I got from TJ Maxx a while ago on a pair of distressed denim and metallic flats.
