        We are gradually getting to the end of the summer and the summer heat has been intense this year. I have been enjoying the summer by rotating summer fashion essentials from my closet; shorts, cotton tops and lots of button up shirts. Every season, I do a wardrobe/closet edit and fill any void I might have by sourcing affordable pieces. My wish list serves as a shopping guide for me each season.

Fashion Inspiration for Spring Break

 

          Are you packed for spring break yet? If you are looking to get away for spring break and need some inspiration on what fashion pieces to take with you, this post is for you. If I were to pack for a getaway to a sunny destination where there is water (Beach or Pool) and I want to make my entire wardrobe interesting, the first thing I would do is to pick a theme or color for my style. Do I want to pack classic pieces or do I want to go bohemian? Also, It might be a great idea to let your destination dictate your style.

Knit Dress + Trench Coat

 

       The outfit I am wearing in this post is one of my favorite outfits to wear in the cold weather months; a knit dress, a pair of boots and a jacket or coat. It never gets more complex than this and it works for any occasion or event depending on the style of the knit dress. Do you have a "go to outfit" you wear at any time of the year? Grey puffy sleeve Sweater + Blue pouch Bag

 

       Puffy sleeves are a big deal right now. You can find them on blouses, dresses, jumpsuits and even on blazers. I purchased this puffy sleeve sweater from Loft last year including the denim and I styled this look to attend a friend's surprise proposal event last spring. I completed the look with a woven, blue pouch bag, my favorite at the moment and a pair of brown cone shaped heel boots. Now that the warm weather is finally here, I'm excited to put all the sweaters away. I hope the weather is beautiful wherever you are. Thanks for reading.

Yellow sweater Dress + white Boots

 

       I sought out a yellow color sweater dress for a long time and was so glad when I finally found this. Styling it was super easy, yellow and white go perfectly together and this pair of boots have been in heavy rotation lately. My embellished headband completed this look. I wore this dress on Easter Sunday and I look forward to styling it again in the Fall. Thanks so much for reading.

Satin skirt + white sweater

       The quote; "Just because it's hard doesn't mean it is impossible" is what I have chosen to adapt from now onwards and I acted on that positive energy and got this braids done all by myself. I have made unsuccessful attempts to braid my hair before and I'm really glad they came out okay this time around. Yay! to more possibilities 😀

Casual Style: Vest + Denim

     Happy new year! It's so surreal that we are already in 2022 but I am excited, and I hope you are too. The farther we get away from the year 2020, the better it is for everyone. We had a very beautiful weather in the month of December and there was a day that the weather was so beautiful, December 2nd actually and it seemed like it was summer! Can you believe it! 

I styled my sweater vest over dark denim pants for a casual look and completed the look with faux fur slides. It was a comfy look just to lounge at home and to think happy thoughts and good wishes. I hope the new year is going great for you so far. Thanks so much for reading! 😀

Vacation Style: Brown tiered Dress + Summer Bag

       Vacation style equals simple and effortless style. You do not want to fuss over your outfits when you are on vacation. My go to style is always a dress. A dress is the most versatile piece in your vacation wardrobe because underneath the dress, you can wear your bikini or one-piece swimsuit if you are going to be on the beach. I purchased this dress on sale from JCPenney and I just love the color and tiered style. I paired it with a burlap graphic bag from Amazon and Alina Sandals which is a somewhat dupe of the Chloe slides. Thank you for reading.

How to style: Striped Pant Suit

         ϻy love love for pantsuits is deep and I cannot really explain why because I love them just as much as I love dresses. This styling collage was put together by me and shows how I would style a striped brown suit if I owned one. This look can be worn just about anywhere by switching out the accessories to fit the occasion or event that you are attending. For a more formal occasion, I would style a full monochrome look by wearing brown or nude color shoes but for a casual event, the green slingbacks is a perfect pop of color. Fall Fashion Inspiration: Brown Tones

 

       丅he color palette this Fall is; "Shades of brown" and if you need a little inspiration on how to style this hue for the season, look no further. This posts features a monochromatic look which is the best way to style this beautiful fall color. Whenever, I put monochrome looks together, I always think of textures in the outfit in addition to the different shades of color. The different textures in a monochromatic outfit results in a stylish and interesting look. In the above collage, all the pieces are designer splurge pieces and the collage/set is mainly for styling inspiration. If you have been reading this blog for a long time, you'll know by now that I always advocate for affordable and sustainable fashion. Shoe Lovin' - Square toe Satin Loafers

               ᔑquare toe shoes are trending this season and so is loafers. Although, this classic shoe style has been around for a long time, it cycles in and out of the fashion scene from time to time. It has reemerged as a trend this season mostly because of the square toe trend. I spotted this satin loafers on line and decided to feature it here on the blog on the Shoe lovin' Series. The pearl accessory or embellishment is such a cute detail and the cameo color gives a nod to the combat shoes trend. This shoe by sole society, has sold out online but you might still find them in pre-loved sites like Porshmark and Tradesy. LOFT Fashion Rental

              ᔑustainable fashion is gaining more recognition and several retail stores are making adjustments in how their fashion is made or sold in order to cater to the needs of their customers who crave sustainability in fashion. Not every one is interested in fast fashion anymore; most consumers are looking into ways they can get more buck for their dollars. This might be the reason that clothing or fashion rental (a form of sustainable fashion) is catching on. A new store that just got into this trend is LOFT. The fashion retail store has a new fashion rental service that is somewhat similar to that of Rent the Runway. Loft is, and has always been one of my favorite stores especially for work attire and I was very happy to learn about this new service and decided to share the news on the blog. Holiday Shoes: Sequin + Glitter

           եhe holiday season comes with different events and celebrations; Christmas dinners, holiday parties, end of year dinners and it can be overwhelming sometimes when we are not prepared for all the events as they line up. I'll love to share my own tip of getting ready for any holiday event without stress and it has a lot to do with shoes. Usually, I style all my outfit from down up and when I say down up, I mean; I style my outfits around my shoes. So, my shoes always come first when I am putting a look together.

The Animal Prints Skirt to wear to Work

Happy Monday everyone. I am sharing a quick look that I wore a few weeks ago and it deals with styling animal  prints for work. This print that is trending a great deal can be styled for a conservative work environment when it is done right. I chose this white color cheetah prints skirt that is an old purchase from Target and believe me when I tell you that this white and black color cheetah prints outfit is more appropriate for work than the regular brown color animal prints like this one here and here. (Although. it also depends on how it is styled and how strict your work environment is when it comes to fashion) To make my skirt more work appropriate, I added a black color blazer which I layered over a high neck short sleeved sweater. A pair of black pumps and a black mini bag completed the look. What say you about taking the animal prints trend to the conservative work space? I love you for stopping by. Tan color sweater + Brown Culottes

Tan, browns, beige and nudes are typical fall colors which I decided to bring together in this outfit. I am wearing a tan color cable knit sweater, an old purchase from Loft and a dark brown pair of culottes, an old piece from my closet. My accessories are pretty light; a pair of nude pumps, a red mini quilted bag for a pop of color and a printed silk scarf for some interest. Can you believe I forgot to put on a pair of earrings when I got dressed to go out before taking these pics? At other times, I would have been very conscious of my bare ears but with this added printed scarf around my neck, I was just fine. A very simple, laid back outfit I must say. What are your plans for Thanksgiving celebration? Everyday should be Thanksgiving in my book and I have a lot to be thankful to God for starting with his love and mercy and grace on my life and on my family. I thank God for good health and for good friends and I really just thank him for everything. Without God, where would I be? (Nowhere!) What are you thankful to God for?

Mixed Leopard Prints Style

Leopard prints and snake prints just won't stop this season and that's okay by me; that means, I'm able to wear every piece in my closet. The two pieces in this outfit have been in my closet for years; I wore them a lot years ago when I was obsessed with leopard prints and the prints was also a thing then but the trend went away and I do not know why I never really donated these pieces. Check out other ways I styled this skirt in previous blog posts here and here. I actually got inspiration for this particular look from online and I knew I wanted to try it. Although mixing leopard prints can be overwhelming, you can balance out the look by using neutral accessories to complete the look.
