     Hello dear,  how are you doing today? I hope great. Are you ready for spring yet? Have you organized your pastels, pantsuits, dresses and shorts yet? It is transitional dressing for me at this time so I still need my coats because you know where I live....our temps is still very high over here in Minnesota so a jacket is still needed especially in the mornings and evenings.

     Ꮗhite is the best color choice for summer because it helps to beat the summer heat especially in fabrics like cotton and linen and this is why I love to wear this white cotton blazer in the summer time. I paired it with a heavily distressed pair of denim Bermuda shorts that is actually a DIY piece from this denim pant worn here. I accessorized the look with pink statement earrings and my favorite summer mules and bag; all designer inspired pieces. Doing Summer in my Green Dress

 

     ዙow is everyone doing? I hope we are all strong, healthy and still keeping up with our Covid sanitation. I just wanted to pop in here real quick to show this green dress I wore the other day; actually an old piece from my closet. The way I transform old pieces in my closet is by adding fresh accessories which I did with this beautiful straw bag I thrifted years ago and my tan color pointed toe mules and bright yellow earrings. I wore this dress to lounge around in the house with a pair of short shorts underneath because it is a very mini dress 😁 If we were going out, I would wear this dress to a backyard BBQ or to go on a lunch date with my friends or family.       Ꮴacation is a very essential part of self care and mental health for everyone because we can take deep breaths and recharge while on vacation. Things are a lot different this year for everyone; no travel, no vacation. Usually at this time of the year, my family would have had one or two vacation. Last year, we ended our summer by taking a trip to Disney World in Florida and visited beaches in Clearwater and Tampa. The kids still talk about the trip because it was so much fun. We were hoping to have another fun vacation this year but have not been able to. Families everywhere are experiencing the same thing this year and some are planning to take road trips or have taken road trips because flying is not really safe right now. I believe every family should evaluate all the risks before they embark on activities outside of their home at this time.

The Pearl Earrings Trend

Pearls have been statement jewelry for centuries back and are highly regarded as status jewelry. Their value and price has made them special occasion jewelry; to be worn when there is a very special event and then kept in a safe box. This is true of real, genuine pearls; however, faux pearl or fake pearls have also been around for years and while they are not of great value, they are beautiful to look at and can also be as stylish as the real ones. White turtle neck Sweater + Black Pencil Skirt

The pencil skirt is a closet essential and there are very good reasons why every lady should have one or two in her closet. It is a classic piece that can be dressed up or down, formal or casual and it's so versatile when it comes to styling. I realized last summer that my closet was in need of a black midi pencil skirt and I was on the lookout for an affordable piece of great quality. I talked about this skirt in my recent Winter Wish List and if you need one, check it out here.  For this post, I styled my pencil skirt with a white ribbed turtle neck sweater and a pair of ankle boots. This is a simple way to style a pencil skirt for winter in the winter season. My dark brown wool coat made the pairing of a plain black and white outfit more interesting. I added the red fringe statement earring for a pop of color. The weather was a bit bearable when I wore this outfit so I did not have to wear some tights or stockings. A pair of black knee high boots is a good choice too when it is really cold and you need to add more layers to the outfit.
