Puffy sleeve smocked lavender Dress + heels

Puffy sleeves or bubble sleeves dress is here to stay; this trend is going to be around for a long time even past this season's fall and winter. I purchased this lavender maxi dress from Lulus two summers ago and wore it on multiple occasions this past summer. In my opinion, it is the perfect dress to celebrate the end of summer and to welcome the new season. I did my favorite monochrome styling all the way with lavender pieces and completed the look with my old thrifted purple bag. Thank you so much for reading and I wish you all of God's blessings in the new month.

Blue long coat + black leather Pants

Long coats are essential winter pieces that is highly needed for cold dreary winter temperatures. If you are just starting out building a winter capsule wardrobe, it would be a great idea to get one in a neutral color like tan, beige or brown and then you can go for a bold bright color afterwards that you can wear in the spring or cooler months.

Lavender Monochrome: Adjusting our lives to our new normal

𐐑It's so obvious that life as we know it is definitely going to be different after this Covid19 Pandemic. The world we used to know changed very quickly right in front of our eyes. I pray that our lives return to normal as much as possible when this whole pandemic is over; that we are able to hold hands and hug our family and friends as before; be able to gather together to worship and celebrate and other wonderful things we are missing out on right now. However, I would hope that we keep doing some things we are doing presently even when the pandemic is over; like, keeping our hygiene up (washing our hands frequently) and continuously being aware of our environment with the hope of keeping everything clean and sanitized. Also, I would hope that we cut down on our frivolous waste and concentrate on things that are important.

How to fake a dress for a special Event

There are so many events to attend in the summer time and if you do not want to shop for something new or need some inspiration on how to put together an outfit really quick from your closet, think "Monochrome styling." The outfit I am wearing in this post is actually a tunic and a pleated skirt paired together. The outfit actually looks like a dress or a one piece. I know this because any time I style similar colors together like this in a top and skirt, I get complements about it as a dress. Even when I posted the look on my instagram, I got some comments on it as a dress 😃 The trick is to make sure the colors or shades of both pieces are really similar. I accessorized the look with a statement necklace, a bracelet and a pair of nude sandals. For similar look, click on the shopping links below and thanks so much for stopping by.

How to style Monochrome; Lilac + Purple

Happy Monday everyone; I hope your weekend was great. Mine was awesome. I spent a lot of time with family and we went to the mall, went out to eat, went to a birthday party and most importantly, went to church. This is the outfit I wore to church yesterday; lilac and purple outfit. Lilac or lavender as some would call it is a color that is trending this season as we know and the easiest way to style it is to pair it with white, cream  or other pastels. For this look I decided to do monochrome styling by pairing my lilac lace top with lilac color pants. I chose to complete the look with a deep purple color blazer, light purple pumps and a straw bag. You can tell by now that I love the straw bag trend. They add a very organic feel to any outfit. So, what is the key to styling a monochrome look? Mix textures.

Work Wear: Grey color Winter Style

So, I wore this grey color boucle coat and grey pants recently just because grey is a color that is right for Winter. Wear grey colors in a monochrome style, mix it up with burgundy or black or mix it up with prints like gingham or houndstooth; however you mix it, it just comes out right. I paired my grey pants with a white long sleeve top to break up the monochromatic effect when I added the dark grey boucle coat. My dark green velvet block heels
