Happy Friday everyone 😁 and welcome back to my blog. Like I said in one of my recent posts, I was gone on blog vacation for exactly two months. The last time I was fully active on the blog via published post was here. And my first post back was this one right here. If you are wondering why there are so many posts between, it's because I published them when I got back on active blogging. So, it is safe to say it was not a full blog vacation, it was somewhat a partial one because I was taking pictures and writing blog posts every day while I was away. My blog has become my personal diary and I feel like I have to write something in it everyday. I must say I am addicted to Blogging at this time 😎 The only difference was that I archived my posts in the draft folders while I was away and published them when I got back. So, there is so much to read and catch up on. Just get a snack and a drink and read and browse away.

Wine color Monochrome Outfit + Tweed oversized Coat
In my previous post, I styled a monochromatic neutral look and for this post today, I decided to do another monochromatic styling with a punch of color this time. I paired my wine color cable knit sweater over a pair of wine color corduroy pants and the cable knit on the sweater adds texture to the outfit. For warmth, I threw on a tweed coat to break the monochromatic styling. A black pair of ankle boots and a black purse completed this simple, casual look. In warmer weather, the coat can be switched out for a light weight blazer. This look can be worn to most casual events and just about anywhere by switching out a piece or two. Again for warmer temps, I can switch out the sweater for a neck-tie blouse like this piece here.

Grey Sweater Dress + Green trench Coat
Happy Monday everyone. I hope to make this post as short as possible. I'm wearing a grey color sweater dress and a vintage green color vintage trench coat that has a removable floral lining for extra warmth. I love how the color of the coat just makes the otherwise grey outfit pop. This sweater dress is an old one from the closet purchased from Victorias' Secret years ago. The neckline can be turned into an off-shoulder style; can be worn as a cowl neck and it can also be worn over the head like a hood. I just love the versatility of this sweater dress. I wear it a lot in the winter months and it is so worn now that I think it is finally time to give it a break. I'll only wear it to lounge at home from now onwards. I paired the grey dress with high heeled ankle boots and a black bag; trying to keep it very simple and neutral underneath the green coat. Lastly, my green and gold tone statement earrings completed the look. If you are asking what I'm thinking; yes, the coat is a thrifted piece from years ago. I think I paid about $15 or $20 dollars for it and then I had it dry cleaned too. I take care of all my winter coats and store them properly because they are not really just fashion pieces for me but essentials. I have a couple of 100 % wool coats that actually cost up to a $1000 for a new piece but I got each of them for under $100 at the thrift and consignment store like the camel coat I wore here and here. You need to have good warm coats and trench coats if you live in Minneapolis. Thanks so much for stopping by here.

Green Dupioni Midi Dress + Ankle Boots
Happy Monday Friends; in keeping with my new year goals to buy less and style more, I'm restyling this green dupioni midi dress from my closet. It's a dress I got through a collaboration with eShakti years ago and I have styled it previously on the blog here and here. Each time I style the dress by switching up my accessories, it always feels like I have on a new dress or outfit. The first time, I wore it with leopard print pumps and a statement jewelry for a very simple look. I layered a black sweater and knee boots with it the second time. And yesterday I decided to layer a black turtle neck sweater underneath to wear to church. I cinched the waist with an embellished Asos belt similar to this and completed the look with my Altuzarra ankle boots and Nine West snake print bag. The weather was very cold so I wore a pair of black stockings with the look. It was a very windy and cloudy day yesterday and the dress does look different in every pic mostly because of the dupioni fabric and iridescent texture that makes it look different based on how the sun or light hits it. The wind also whipped up snow and tossed it on me; I must say it was a fun shoot yesterday after church.

Red wool Coat + All black Outfit
Hello! I am feeling like it's been a while on here 😁 This is going to be a very short post. The weather has been extreme in my state of Minnesota and this February has set a new record as the snowiest February on record in Minnesota. Can you believe it? And February is not even over yet; this means that the snow record is really going to be exceptional. I have been wearing most of my wool coats lately and this is a quick post of an all-black casual outfit with a pop of red. I like the idea of infusing some color every now and then into my winter outfit and this reminds me that spring is just around the corner. I hope the weather is nice and beautiful wherever you are.

How to style grey color Outfits for cold weather
Grey color outfits make up a big part of my style during the cold weather months because to be honest with you, it is really hard to burst out in colors when the skies are grey and there is a carpet of snow on the ground for days on end. And when I say grey color outfits, I mean full on grey color outfits where 70% of the outfit is grey. I am not talking about occasion where you just throw on a grey blazer over a colored outfit or putting on a grey colored pant and throwing on a colorful top. As we all know, grey color outfits can be very formal and not necessary suited for everyday wear unless you just want to throw on a grey top and jeans for casual wear and then there is the risk of the outfit being too casual if you plan on going to a serious event like Church and Work. There is actually nothing wrong with wearing a plain outfit; it really depends on how your clothes make you feel.
And I'll give you my Christian perspective since this is a Christian Fashion Blog. One of the commands Jesus Christ gave to us is to "go into the world and preach the good news." (Mark 16:15) And to be out in the world preaching, you are going to meet with strangers and approach people in different places at all times. You want to look your best at all times to be able to connect with people whether on line or in real life.
This does not mean you have to wear expensive clothing or designer clothes, you just have to look clean, presentable and dressed for the right occasion. Do not wear jeans and tee shirts to an event that calls for formal attire. Also, If not styled right, grey color outfits can also veer into the realm of uniform. In this post, I am going to share some tips that I consider whenever I want to make my grey outfits interesting and chic and suitable for work and play especially in the cold weather season.

The Snood: A Winter Closet Essential
The snood is a closet essential for the winter especially at this time when we are having a deep freeze in most parts of the mid-west of the United States with temperatures dipping as low as -27 degrees Fahrenheit in some states. Snoods are sometimes confused with infinity scarfs but they are different. A snood is a piece of clothing used by women to cover the upper part of their body usually the head and neck. it has a cowl shape in most cases and sits very close (snug) to the neck. It can be a knitted piece of fabric or crotchet. It can also be made from any other fabric so long as it stretches and can go over the head if it needs to like a hood and this is the main distinction of a snood from an infinity scarf. An Infinity scarf is a loop of fabric that is worn loosely around the neck like a scarf. Sometimes, infinity scarfs can be folded around the neck a couple of times to convert them into a snood like this piece here. In my opinion, a snood is usually warmer and more cozy than an infinity scarf. You can layer it over a top, sweater or dress and a colorful snood can elevate any winter outfit. A good place to shop for snoods is on Etsy Website. I have rounded a couple of snoods and infinity scarfs in the links below if you want to check them out and check out the original post of this outfit here. Stay warm and fabulous!

Staying stylish in Winter one step at a time
The weather might be cold and snowy but our style do not have to be boring. I admit that my winter style might not be as fabulous or colorful as my summer or nice weather style; to be honest, I just want to wrap myself in blankets on very cold days. One thing I do not take for grated however is my shoes. I always make sure I have a cute and comfortable pair of shoes on my feet. To stay stylish in the winter time, just make sure your accessories are colorful and chic. So, if you tend to wear long dark coats the whole winter, make sure your gloves, hats, mittens and gloves are on the colorful side to keep your spirit up. If you give up and just eliminate all forms of color and style from your winter wardrobe, you might end up with the winter blues which can lead to a serious case of depression. (Yes, depression is higher in the winter time and it is usually attributed to the dreary winter weather) To elevate your style and your steps, consider adding a pair from these selection of winter boots. They are all grey or neutral in color and are ankle boots but they are stylish and cute and you can find one that lifts up your mood based on your style. Happy shopping.

Dressing up in style in sub zero temps
We are all aware of the deep freeze sweeping across the United States this week unless you are lounging on a beach somewhere enjoying the sun which probably would be the best thing to do. So, if you can afford it, you can book a flight for yourself to someplace warm until the weekend if you are single and if you have a family and can afford it, you definitely need to take the family to some place very warm where you can have some adventure and enjoy the sun for the next few days. If you are staying home where the cold and chill is present, you definitely need to stay warm and being indoors is the best way to deal with this cold. If you have to go out, consider pilling on layers and layers of clothing but make sure your final outfit or layer is stylish and on trend. This outfit collage below shows some inspiration on what you need to stay stylish in sub zero temps.
The set features a black long sleeve turtle neck sweater sometimes called a high neck or roll neck sweater or jumper with little variation in the style. To create a very stylish look, tuck in the sweater into a good quality pair of denim which should be layered too with some great winter under garments if you plan on spending some time outdoors. Throw on a black and white striped cardigan, long puffer coat, a colorful printed scarf, colored gloves and a colorful bag are needed to elevate this look. And last but not the least, grab a hat that suits your style on your way out and do not forget the snow boots. Happy styling...💛
