Sweater Vest and Denim Skirt

Vests have been trending for a while now and I couldn't wait to style this thrifted vest I have had in my closet for a while. I love the high neck and the bold contrasting colors on this piece. I paired it with an equally old, distressed denim skirt I have had for a very long time. I completed the look with a pair of red square toe sandals and a white clutch, a very simple look. What say you about the vest trend? The eighties style is back!

What to wear on a snowy day

Happy Tuesday Friends; just a quick post here. We have been having a lot of snowy weather in Minnesota lately and there is still so much of the beautiful stuff laying around. So, last Saturday, I decided to do a quick casual style shoot for the blog; hence the title; "what to wear on a snowy day."

This outfit is for those snowy days when you need to run errands around town; maybe doing grocery shopping or going to the salon. I wore a pair of blue denim, a white tee and a vest and a pair of boots with great soles to avoid slipping and falling on the slippery, icy driveways. Flat shoes with slippery soles are a; "No-No" for me whenever there is lots of snow on the ground. And do not forget the "over the shoulder" bags. You have to have your hands free to tuck in your vest's pockets for extra warmth and to help you walk safely. Trust me, it's not safe to be holding stuff or carrying bags when you are trying to walk safely in the snow. Thanks a lot for reading friends and have a great week.

Gingham, Vest and Velvet

Happy Thanksgiving week Friends. This holiday is very special to most people that live in America and widely celebrated but it goes well beyond eating turkey and food. It is a time to reflect on the whole year and years past and to give thanks to God for everything. I know other parts of the world also have some sort of celebration of thanks and life at this time of the year too.

Just like a lot of people, I'm busy at this time buying all the last minute needed essentials for all the upcoming holidays. I wore my velvet flats  blogged about here over the weekend although there was over two inches of snow on the ground (We had our first snow fall last Saturday and it was a storm). The flats were not warm enough for my feet but sometimes, you give up some comfort for a little bit of style. I didn't walk around in them for too long though and I was driving most of the time. The flats added a great pop of color to my casual camel color vest and gingham shirt casual style.

If you are going to be running around doing some shopping and last minute preparation at this time of the year, make sure you do it in style and I am just here to remind you of that...Lol. I may not be the most stylish person but I do try my best for a busy Mom of four kids. Thank-you so much for reading my blog. I thank God for you everyday.
