Green Dress + brown ankle boots

Green is low key one of my favorite colors and it's one reason why this knit dress is still in my closet. I have had it for years and wear it on repeat at this time of the year; the spring season. Hey! ladies, there is nothing wrong with wearing your outfits/pieces over and over again. It's your outfit, you paid for it; so restyle and wear it as many times as you want! This green dress was previously styled here! 👌 just popping in here to say hi. Thanks so much for reading.

Shoe Lovin.' - Combat Boots

ombat boots have been trending for a while now and I presumed it was just going to be a passing but was I wrong! The shoe trend is still going strong this winter. This trend has a lot to do with function now more than style especially in this winter season. It is the best kind of boots to wear in this snowy, cold weather in my neck of the woods. As always, I had to look out for a cute, affordable pair that has good quality at the same time and I found this faux snake print pair at DSW. The boots has just enough details; buckles, zipper and lace to make it look interesting without being overwhelming. If you are interested in this trend and this particular boots, check it out.

The most trendy print of the Season

եhe zebra print or tiger print is a major trend this season and you can wear the print any how and any way you want; coats, tops, shoes...The general notion is that animal prints pieces or clothing can be a bit overwhelming if not styled the right way so, it is important to find a balance when you are shopping for this trend. A zebra print coat can make a huge statement and elevate any style; just make sure you pair it with neutrals or nudes like in the collage above. This way, the coat is the main focus of the outfit and does not need to clash with other pieces. Add a touch of red to the outfit in the form of an accessory and you would achieve an edgy, glam look. Happy viewing, happy styling.

Dressing up in Green for the Holiday Season: A Throwback Look

hen dressing up for the Christmas holiday, the outfits options are endless based on textures; lace, velvet, sequins, faux fur, tulle, plaid....and then when it comes to colors, we are a bit limited as we mostly try to dress up in the season's colors especially when we are dressing up in solid colors. For example, most ladies would prefer to dress up in red for the holidays when choosing a solid color outfit that is not made sequins or velvet. Green is the other not so common holiday outfit color which is somewhat trending this season.

Camel Coat + Brown Accessories

It is my blog's seven years anniversary and I'm really thankful to God and grateful for my readers and everyone who stops by here. I have thought of quitting so many times but realized that is even harder to quit than it is to run this blog. I have taken blog breaks so many times over the years but found out that the break only stops short of me publishing my posts. I still take pictures and write blog posts while I'm on break; after all, it's somewhat easy; I take all my pictures around my home using a tripod and remote control. So, I found out that, so long as I wear clothes and have internet connection, it'll be hard to really stop writing. Also, I end up publishing all my archived or draft posts when I'm done with my break; haha! 😊 Again, happy blog anniversary to me!

Wine color Monochrome Outfit + Tweed oversized Coat

In my previous post, I styled a monochromatic neutral look and for this post today, I decided to do another monochromatic styling with a punch of color this time. I paired my wine color cable knit sweater over a pair of wine color corduroy pants and the cable knit on the sweater adds texture to the outfit. For warmth, I threw on a tweed coat to break the monochromatic styling. A black pair of ankle boots and a black purse completed this simple, casual look. In warmer weather, the coat can be switched out for a light weight blazer. This look can be worn to most casual events and just about anywhere by switching out a piece or two. Again for warmer temps, I can switch out the sweater for a neck-tie blouse like this piece here.

Green Feather Ankle Boots

Another shoe lovin' post here today that features this teal color feather embellished ankle boots from Nordstrom. This pointy toe stiletto boots are made of leather with a soft shine to it and have a 4" heel. The feather embellishments and color make them look dressy and appropriate for spring or fall weddings. This year, embellished shoes are going to be a huge trend and you'll see a lot of feather embellishments on accessories and fashion pieces. The boots also come in black colors and at $138.95, they are pretty affordable. Check it out here.

White turtle neck Sweater + Black Pencil Skirt

The pencil skirt is a closet essential and there are very good reasons why every lady should have one or two in her closet. It is a classic piece that can be dressed up or down, formal or casual and it's so versatile when it comes to styling. I realized last summer that my closet was in need of a black midi pencil skirt and I was on the lookout for an affordable piece of great quality. I talked about this skirt in my recent Winter Wish List and if you need one, check it out here.  For this post, I styled my pencil skirt with a white ribbed turtle neck sweater and a pair of ankle boots. This is a simple way to style a pencil skirt for winter in the winter season. My dark brown wool coat made the pairing of a plain black and white outfit more interesting. I added the red fringe statement earring for a pop of color. The weather was a bit bearable when I wore this outfit so I did not have to wear some tights or stockings. A pair of black knee high boots is a good choice too when it is really cold and you need to add more layers to the outfit.

White Boots

White shoes trend came on the scene a couple of seasons ago and never left. This shoe color is fast becoming the favorite in most ladies' wardrobe behind the nudes and recently the snake prints. In the summer, the trend is white mules, white sneakers, white sandals and in the fall and winter months, it is the white ankle boots or knee boots. If you are interested in trying out this trend, Target is having a shoe sale currently and the selections above are my favorites. Target is one of the retailers that offer trendy fashion at affordable prices and their quality is great too. This is not a sponsored post; just sharing sale information with who ever is interested. Happy shopping, happy Friday 😃

Staying stylish in Winter one step at a time

The weather might be cold and snowy but our style do not have to be boring. I admit that my winter style might not be as fabulous or colorful as my summer or nice weather style; to be honest, I just want to wrap myself in blankets on very cold days. One thing I do not take for grated however is my shoes. I always make sure I have a cute and comfortable pair of shoes on my feet. To stay stylish in the winter time, just make sure your accessories are colorful and chic. So, if you tend to wear long dark coats the whole winter, make sure your gloves, hats, mittens and gloves are on the colorful side to keep your spirit up. If you give up and just eliminate all forms of color and style from your winter wardrobe, you might end up with the winter blues which can lead to a serious case of depression. (Yes, depression is higher in the winter time and it is usually attributed to the dreary winter weather) To elevate your style and your steps, consider adding a pair from these selection of winter boots. They are all grey or neutral in color and are ankle boots but they are stylish and cute and you can find one that lifts up your mood based on your style. Happy shopping.

Styling Green Pants for Work: Green Ankle Pants + Plaid Blazer

There was a huge snow fall last night; it actually started yesterday's evening to this morning and the temperature is in sub zeroes so, this is not what I am wearing today. It is an outfit I wore last week and it is suited for more moderate temps and probably more appropriate for spring and speaking of which; I'm really looking forward to the spring weather. Did I mention that classes and school was canceled today for most part of Minnesota? Yes, the cold and snow is just not a good combination. My kids are home presently as I type this post. Still thinking of spring; I'm looking forward to styling all my blazer's for a warmer season.

Shoe Lovin': Brown Suede ankle Boots

Brown suede boots are my new favorite things or my new favorite shoes especially when they are ankle boots. I really loved this contrast color suede ankle boots from Shopbop the first time I saw them online and was not surprised when the boots sold out so quickly; they are so beautiful; the color, the lace at the back sole and the style makes the boots so unique. I have since searched for a similar pair online but was not able to find any style that close in look. In the process of searching for this pair, I realized that my shoe closet was actually missing a pair of brown ankle boots and that there were so many other affordable styles available. I got this beautiful pair from Nasty Gal  during their summer sale and it's such a simple cute style of ankle boots that can be paired with denim, dresses and skirts. This Aquazzura pair here is also very beautiful but since the price is quite steep, an affordable similar pair here would do. If you are like me and need to add a pair of brown ankle boots to your shoe closet, check out some of these affordable choices below. Happy viewing, happy shopping, happy styling.

Styling the little black dress (LBD) for Fall

We all have the little black dress in our closets and though this might be a dress that is reserved by many for special days and occasions, it can be styled for the fall weather on a regular day. My best LBD (LITTLE BLACK DRESS) to wear in the cold months is the sweater dress or knit dress. The fabric is meant for the colder months because it is warm and cozy to wear. However, any LBD can be worn irrespective of the material or fabric just by simple layering. In my outfit here, my dress is a sleeveless, turtle neck knit dress from Zara which I layered by wearing a long sleeve sweater underneath. The weather wasn't too cold so ankle boots was very appropriate to style with the dress. In colder weather, knee high or thigh high boots can be worn with some stockings as the need might be. I styled a maxi lace dress a few weeks ago by layering a cardigan over it as you can see in this post here. Also, you can add a pop of color to your look with the use of accessories like a colorful bag as I did in this post here where I styled this same dress. To update your LBD, you can style it with a snake print bag or a pair of snake print boots or pumps. As you know, the snake print trend is the rave this fall. Get out your LBDs and style and mix them into your fall  wardrobe. Thanks so much for stopping by here.

Styling the season's leopard print pants: Cable knit sweater + Ankle boots

In my books, it is a win! win!! when clothes from years and years ago still fit the body in the present time and it is even better when the clothes fit right into the modern trend in fashion; money and time saved! happy Tuesday Beauties; I'm sure you all know about the leopard prints trend for fall fashion by now because it is everywhere. When I first got wind that this trend had come back, I was a little skeptical if it was ever going to catch on and I'm surprised at the way people embraced or should I say re-embraced the trend. I have like a medium sized suitcase full of animal prints clothing from over the years and till this day, I do not understand why I never donated them or get rid of them; maybe I had
a feeling the trend was going to be back and it did! 😀 I have had this pant for years now and like I said earlier, I'm always excited when old clothing items from my closet fit years later. The last time I wore this pants, I was in my last trimester with my youngest child who would be turning five years this christmas and you can check out the post here.  On a side note, I took a look at some of my old posts recently and I remember the earlier days in blogging when I didn't have much idea of what I was doing as regards taking pictures and editing; I'm glad I have improved a little over the years with my pictures and blog layout and for this I am grateful to God. When you have a love for what you do, you never stop; you keep going even when you stumble and make mistakes along the way 😝

Grey maxi skirt + black cowl neck Sweater

Happy Wednesday everyone 😆 It's supposed to be spring, right? I know you would be surprised to see boots and a sweater on a fashion blog at this time of the year but hey, I live in Minnesota or where we fondly call "Minne-snow-ta" because of our harsh and long winter. So, while the most of the U.S. has been celebrating and enjoying spring for a while, we just left our winter behind us days ago. Presently, it's starting to warm up but still gets a little cold in

Camel color coat + black ankle boots.

Hi everyone, thank you so much for stopping by here. I hope the weather is nice and beautiful wherever you are. I wore this outfit to Church a couple of months ago when the weather gave us a break. The black dress underneath my coat is an old purchase from Zara and I believe I have blogged about it before. The fabric of the dress is rich and durable and it is very comfy. Since the dress is sleeveless, I had my coat on the entire time in Church and I was warm and cozy. The only thing missing from this outfit is a pair of stockings but I chose to forgo it.

This camel color coat here is actually the statement piece in this outfit and believe me when I say a camel color coat is an essential piece in every lady's closet especially when you live in a cold state like I do. A good quality camel color coat is usually very expensive and they sell out very fast because they can be investment pieces. I scored this one from a consignment shop years ago and had it dry cleaned. I remember writing a blog post on how to acquire a good statement coat collection somewhere on the blog. I would
