How to style: Striped Pant Suit

ϻy love love for pantsuits is deep and I cannot really explain why because I love them just as much as I love dresses. This styling collage was put together by me and shows how I would style a striped brown suit if I owned one. This look can be worn just about anywhere by switching out the accessories to fit the occasion or event that you are attending. For a more formal occasion, I would style a full monochrome look by wearing brown or nude color shoes but for a casual event, the green slingbacks is a perfect pop of color. Brown and tans are going to be a huge trend this fall and if you need more styling inspiration, check out my styling IG here. Happy viewing, happy styling.

How I styled my neon Pant Suit

Can you tell by now that I really love the neon or lime green color trend? Well, sort of....😊 As you may well know if you a frequent reader of this blog; I just love to try on trends especially if I am shopping from my closet. This neon pant suit comprises of separates; a lime green color eyelet blazer that I thrifted years ago and a neon green racer back tank top from Old Navy and this lime green cropped denim pants I purchased from Victorias' Secret years ago when it had a clothing line. The statement piece in the entire outfit is this Betsey Johnson Sandals that I blogged about recently. The floral design and black and white stripes on the heeled sandals make it a show stopper. I think this is my best Betsey Johnson shoe purchase yet and I love that her shoe line is an affordable alternative to Sophia Websters which also features whimsical and fun shoes like this pair. This floral sandals are currently on sale though they are sold out in most of the sizes. The tip I have for styling neon pantsuit is to style textures into the outfit to make the outfit interesting. One way of adding textures is by using pieces from different fabrics like I did with my blazer and bottom or using accessories made from unique materials or fabric like I did with my shoes. I wore this outfit to Church last Sunday and my eight year old daughter took these pictures with my iPhone.

How to style a colorful Pant Suit for Spring

Hi there 😀 My name is Beauty Ojo and you are welcome to my blog. How are you? 😂 I feel like I have to re-introduce myself again since I have been gone from the blog for a while, sort of. I have been here for the last two months but actually away too and if you are confused a little, I'll explain. The last time I did a public post was two months ago in this post here. I went on an impromptu blog vacation thereafter (more on that later) but it was a partial vacation because I was still writing; doing blog posts and taking pictures but I never published them; just put them in my archives instead. So, if you want to see all that I did while I was away, you can start here and read up to the newer posts by clicking on the link at the far left corner, at the bottom of the last post (on top the "Get to know Me" Gadget) until you find yourself here 😅

The Pant Suit: A Closet Essential and how to shop for an affordable Set

Pant Suits have been a classic for a very long time and when any fashion piece is a classic, it is not even regarded as a trend anymore. it is way past a trend; It is a wardrobe essential, a staple that every woman should have in their closet and that is the story of the pant suit. I have had this black pant suit for a while now and it is actually separates; a different blazer and pair of black pant paired together to create this pantsuit look previously blogged about here. This spring and summer, pantsuits would be a huge trend and if you do not own one yet, you can check out Asos Website where you can find different styles and colors of pantsuits at affordable price point.

Another tip for shopping for pant suits is by buying the blazer and bottom separately but you really have to take great care to match the blazer to the bottom as much as possible. I purchased most of my pantsuits this way and was able to save money by the mix and match buying and styling. I love the thrill of hunting for the perfect bottom for my blazers. And since most of them are thrifted for less than $10, I'm able to get a good pantsuit for less than $50. If styling (mix and match) is not necessarily your thing and you do not mind splurging on a new pantsuit for over a hundred dollars, then go ahead and check out some of my favorite picks from Asos below.

Work wear Monday: What to wear to Work in the Holiday Season

Grey and black are my favorite colors to wear in the cold weather season and also my favorite color combination for work wear. For this look, I wore a regular work wear; a grey pant suit with black color turtle neck top. I purchased the pant suit a couple of summers ago from The Limited and my top is a recent purchase from Boohoo. The top went on sale recently and I purchased up to five colors. The quality is great and it was such a good discount. High neck, turtle neck or roll neck tops are essential pieces to have in the fall and winter season because they not only keep you warm, they are stylish as well. To add a little holiday style to my work wear, I completed my look with a pair of black glitter sock ankle boots which really did not photograph well. My hubs gifted the boots to me last Christmas and they are definitely my favorite pair of boots right now. The glitter boots or pumps is a fun way to add a holiday accessory into your work wear. A faux croc embellished bag made this look office ready. Have a blessed week.

Neon Suit + Graphic Tee

Neon green is a color that is out there more than ever this fall. This look is a throwback to this neon suit and graphic tee previously blogged about here. The cropped neon green denim pants was purchased from Victorias' Secret catalogue years ago including the animal prints pump while the graphic tee was purchased from Forever 21. The blazer is an old thrift and the color is not a perfect match to the pants but the shades are similar enough for the outfit to work. I needed to break up the bold color of the suit by layering a white tee underneath and needed something to complement my shoe. A grey color satin clutch completed the look. If you want to re-create this look, you can check out the shopping information below.

The Pant Suit: Closet essential

The Pant suit has become an "essential" in a trendy lady's closet; dressed up or down, it is one outfit that is very versatile. When you own a two-piece pantsuit, you can wear it as it is to work, to meetings, to church, brunch, seminars and even weddings to mention a few. You can also break down the two piece by pairing the blazer with other clothing items in your closet. A blazer can be layered over a dress to wear to pretty much any event or it can be paired with a white button down and a pair of denim for a classy casual look. The pants in the two piece can also be paired with a lot of items in your closet and this versatility in dressing makes the pant suit a needed clothing essential. Another reason is just the classy and "boss look" of the pant suit and this is why the pink pant suit was chosen as the theme look for today's post.

Yellow color Pantsuit + a straw bag

Happy Monday Friends 😀 I'm excited for the new week, are you? There is no Monday blues here. I'm starting off the week with this yellow color pantsuit and white sneakers which is my own idea of transitional outfits. I love a good pantsuit mostly because of its versatile styling. A pant suit can be worn the whole year with just a switch up o accessories. I paired mine with a straw bag and white sneakers and with a layered white tee, I could leave my blazer open because the weather still feels like summer. In my opinion, the accessories just scream summer including the green wrist cuff that was added for a pop of color. To take the pantsuit to fall, I would definitely wear a darker shade of suit or I would layer darker shades this like a teal color sweater and a pair of ankle boots. What do you say about Pant suits? Have a blessed week.

How to style: Purple + Lilac

Can we still talk about lilac? I know it's not spring anymore since pastels or the lilac color was a huge trend this past spring but nothing stops us from styling and wearing this beautiful shade of color in the summer especially when we mix it with another great color; purple. This set above is an inspiration on styling these two colors together for a special event this summer. Happy viewing and styling...😍

Black Velvet Pant Suit

So, did I mention that I "looove" this velvet tend? I just can't get enough of it and to tell you the truth, I was a little ahead of this trend mostly in velvet blazers. I have up to six velvet blazers in different colors that I collected over the years and now that the trend is everywhere, it was just natural to shop my closet. This black velvet  pant suit is also an old purchase from  about two years ago. To make it a holiday look, I paired it with this black trimmed-white button down blouse, and sparkly accessories. To further amp up the holiday look, I tied a small scarf with red and brown prints around my neck. A very simple holiday look. If you want to splurge on a similar style, you can check out the shopping links below.

Cobalt Blue Pant Suit + Blue floral Pumps

Happy Monday and Presidents day Friends. A lot of mixed feelings about President's day this year but when it comes to wearing the color blue, I absolutely do not have any mixed feelings. It is a color I am starting to embrace and explore. Several years ago, I never would have thought of wearing a blue color pant suit but I started taking fashion risks over the past years and last summer, I put this cobalt color pant suit together which are actually separates; the blazer is an old thrifted piece  and the pants is an old purchase from Jcrew. I paired the look with my white blouse from Ann Taylor and accessorized with a pair of blue floral Nine West pumps to get a full blue outfit. So much dose of blue medicine to get rid of the Monday blues; Enjoy the rest of the week and thanks for stopping by.

Pink and Floral

October is the month to wear pink if you do not like to wear pink at all because of the awareness it brings to breast cancer. This post is a nod to the month of October as  breast cancer awareness month and it features this pink pant suit I wore sometime last summer. I must say though that this pant suit are actually separates. I bought the blazer and the pants at different times and was so surprised when I realized later that the two pieces were a perfect match especially because I bought them online at different times without comparing colors or fabrics. I purchased the blazer from Ann Taylor and the pants from Jcrew a couple of summers ago.

I believe a lady should own at least one pair of pant suit in her closet and a neutral color pant suit is always the first choice then you can buy a pair in a bold color later if you choose. I usually wear my pant suit to church and then at other times, I just wear the individual pieces separately. 'throw the pink blazer over a white graphic tee and blue denim and you have a cool casual outfit. Gone are the days when pant suits were considered frumpy and too conservative because they are trending right now. Your thoughts?

                                               The Unconventional Holiday Outfit.

Can I have that Victoria Beckham's wool jacket and that high waisted pants? Also, I would like a pair of that Manolo Blahnik patent pumps and that statement necklace. Or, I can just give my list to Santa...oh, Christmas is over?..:-) I guess I'll have to give Santa the list for next Christmas. My Christmas holiday was so busy and so much fun that I didn't pay much attention to the time. Looking back now, I think the day went by so fast.

I had a birthday party for my son who was born last Christmas and it was indeed a double celebration. It was not an easy decision though picking what to wear. Initially, I wanted to do the traditional holiday outfit by picking a dress or an outfit with sparkles, sequins and red or black colors then I decided to do something completely different. I wore a white pant suit with a mint color blouse and there was nothing christmasy about my outfit. The decor and colors for the birthday party were also unconventional. Since Christmas and Santa were very obvious themes for a party at this time of the year, I decided to keep things really simple and that included my outfit. I do not have all the high end pieces in this collage that is modeled after my Christmas outfit but I had fun playing dress up and recreating the outfit. The only item that was conventional in my outfit was my sparkly metallic heels. I can't wait to show you pictures of how I recreated the outfit above just by shopping my closet.
