White leopard prints blazer + Black Pants

Leopard prints blazers can make our work style to stand out this fall. Yes, the prints do not belong to street style alone. The styling tip is to make sure the blazer is of a good fit and well structured and pairing it with neutrals or toned down accessories would work for any work place. For this look, I layered my leopard prints blazer with a white turtle neck top and paired it with a black color wide legged pants and a pair of black pumps. Now this white color leopard prints blazer is a thrifted piece which I got for less than $10 years ago (remember I said in an earlier post that I have a large stash of thrifted blazers?) This particular piece is a HM brand and it's a size smaller than my usual size but I purchased it because of its unusual color and it's very well made and of good quality. I tried to find the blazer online afterwards in order to get a larger size but it was sold out everywhere. Presently that leopard prints is trending, a similar blazer will cost you hundreds of dollars in big brand stores. J. Crew had a similar blazer for about $180 which sold out as soon as it hit the stores. I was able to find a blazer in somewhat similar prints for less than $30 at Walmart and you can check it out if you are interested in this look. Thanks a lot for stopping by.

Polka dots Skirt + white button down shirt

So, polka dots prints we know is trending right now. I dug into my Blog Photo Folder and found these pictures I took last summer where I wore this beautiful ruffle hem skirt that I purchased from NET-A-PORTER. The price was a little steep but I loved the skirt and knew it was a huge statement skirt and did not want to pass on it. I paired it with a white bodysuit botton up shirt that I purchased from Victorias Secret years ago. You can find similar piece here and here. This season, there are more budget friendly versions of this skirt like this piece on the Shein Website but I don't know about the quality of their clothing because I have not shopped on the site before. A similar piece in a different color is on the Eshakti website and that I can vouch for the quality because I have shopped on their site so many times. I completed my look with pom-pom sandals from Asos blogged about here. also, check out a similar polka dot look in this post here. Thanks so much for stopping by here.

Work Style: Ivory + Brown

Ivory or white and brown has been one of my favorite color pairings this season. Here I am wearing an ivory blouse paired with a tweed brown color A-line skirt. The tweed skirt is more or less a cold weather staple but I made the outfit summer worthy by accessorizing with floral embellished pumps in a nude color to match the color tone of the outfit. My vintage leather bag completed the look. Thanks for viewing.

Work Style: Purple + Lilac

Purple is my favorite color of all time though I don't get to wear it as often as I would like. This is the reason I was super excited when the color started to trend in spring. Purple and lilac is also one of my favorite color blocking combination as seen in this style inspiration post here. For this look, I'm wearing my light purple or lilac color J. Crew NO. 2 Pencil Skirt in cotton twill; such great quality; I don't know if the store still carries this style of pencil skirt anymore. I paired it with a purple color sleeveless top and completed the look with a metallic statement necklace from Burlington. The black sleeveless coat from House of Fraser and black pumps nailed the look as a work style. Click on the shopping links below if you care for more shopping info.

Work Style: The simple outfit to wear on a hot summer day

Have you thought of an easy breezy outfit to wear to work on a hot summer day or on a casual Friday? An effortlessly chic outfit you can just put together without much thought? It is easy to do when you are dressing up for a casual event; white tee, a well tailored blazer and a great pair of denim and you are good to go. For a more formal work environment where you'll like to be edgy and chic; how about a white sleeveless structured top with a bit of peplum like the one I am wearing here? Pair it with a pastel color pair of pants and a pair of nude sandals and you are good to go. In this post here, I'm wearing a pair of high waisted-paper bag pants and I completed the look with a pair of nude sandals and a woven bag which I accented with a colorful silk scarf to add some color and interest  to the outfit. And I hope you know woven bags are different from straw bags? I love them both. They are great  summer bags that can be paired with both casual and dressy outfit.

Pastel's Work Style: Light blue Pants + Metallic Accents

Hi Beauties, I hope the week is going great. For those in the United States, it's a short work week because of the Memorial Day holiday on Monday and that is a good thing. Today's post is about how to style pastels for work and when I say pastels, I mean those light yummy colors like creams, yellow, light and baby blues, mint, lilacs, pink, tan...you know what I mean. Pastels are a big deal this season and I call them "happy colors." I think the key to making pastels work in a corporate work environment is to break up the pastels; that is, pick only one pastel color in a top or bottom and pair it with a slightly darker shade like I did with this grey plaid blazer. "Pastel- look" from head to toe is a little too festive for a corporate work setting. I completed the look by adding metallic accessories with my metallic tote and metallic cap-toe white pumps. The white tee just made the light blue pants pop but not too much which makes it still work appropriate. What are your thoughts on the pastel's trend? Thanks so much for stopping by here.

How to style lilac for Work

The Lilac color is everywhere; you can't help not noticing the color trend. This is a quick post on how to style the trend for work. I purchased this pencil skirt from JCrew a few years back from the No. 2 Pencil skirt collection in double serge cotton. The skirt has a great fit and is very comfy. I paired it with a neck-bow-tie blouse from Loft and accessorized with this straw bag that I have been carrying all spring and nude pumps. The tip to styling lilac for work especially in a corporate work environment is to get one piece in the color; maybe a bottom piece like pants, culottes, or skirt or in a top like a blazer or a blouse. You can also do accessories like a pair of lilac shoes or a bag.

Work Style: Plaid blazer + red Pants

Hi everyone, just a quick post here; I'm wearing one of my plaid blazers; you really have to squint to really see the plaid print on this particular blazer because the plaid print is not as bold as the current trending plaid. This is one of my thrifted collection of blazers from over the years. Thrifting is a hobby I engage in every once in a while and as a result, I have so many blazers in several colors and patterns, dry cleaned and ready to be styled in my closet. This is why I say you do not have to spend tons on money in achieving a great style. A blazer is a basic that can be paired with most basics in our closet; dresses, denim, skirts.... For this look, I paired a pair of red color pants with this plaid blazer and a white tee and tan pumps completed the look.

My focus is not on this outfit though. I am thinking of the new iPhone 8 and iPhone x release last month and I'm eagerly waiting to have mine. I have had this iPhone 6 for a while and it's not doing it's best function anymore. By the way, All of the pictures on this blog for the past three years are iPhone 6 pictures taken by my young kids and though

White sweater + Grey Pants

The old Fashion rule says "do not wear white color clothing after Memorial day holiday" but no one adheres to that anymore. You can wear white whenever you want even in the snow. While it has not snowed yet in my city, it certainly has been cold and all my sweaters are out but the heavy, long coats are still hanging pretty in the closet; not time for those yet. So, I wore this outfit a few days ago; white cowl neck sweater over grey
