Green Gingham + Bermuda Shorts

Happy Friday Friends. This is a quick post here to share one of my most casual looks for the summer. What can be more casual than a pair of distressed bermuda jean shorts worn on a hot, hot summer day? I paired the denim shorts with a green color gingham off the shoulder top from JCrew. I love the color and style of the top. My yellow color mules previously styled here added a pop of color to my outfit. And what summer outfit can be complete without straw accessories? I'm starting to build a small collection of straw bags and hats. I really love the contrast and organic vibes they add to casual outfits and they have versatile styling too. They can be paired with dresses, shorts, pants, denim...they just go with any outfit and the fact that you can find very cute and quality straw hat and bag at any price range is a plus. This outfit was worn to the park with the kiddos where we had some great fun. We are still enjoying the last few days of summer. What about you; are you doing your best to enjoy the rest of summer or are you just eagerly waiting for fall? Thanks so much for stopping by here.

How I style one shoulder tops

Happy Wednesday Friends; I hope the week is going great. It's almost Friday; Woot! 😁 This post is about overcoming personal insecurities when it comes to dressing up. Most women like me have one or two things about their bodies that they are insecure about and for me, it's my neck and fat arms...Lol 😂 This does not stop me from wearing off-shoulder tops or sleeveless tops though. I wear my looks with confidence; fat arms and all and you should too. I'm sharing this look I wore to Church weeks ago for our Wednesday mid-week service; a white one shoulder top over a red midi skirt.

Blue off-the-shoulder-top + denim

Hello Friends; another quick post here on how I styled my yellow fringe sandals. Blue and yellow complement each other nicely and when you add white to the mix, it is even better. I loved this cobalt blue top when I saw it online because of the color and style and since it was very affordable, I ordered it. It took forever to get to me all the way from China and at a time I gave up on the order vowing not to ever make any purchase from any overseas store based in China. The top eventually got to me in good condition and

One more way to wear Plaid..

Happy Thursday Friends; today's outfit is a throwback look I wore in the summer and my inspiration for this look was based on this outfit in this blog post HERE. I know it is Fall and I'm supposed to be posting Fall fashion outfits on here but this is a therapeutic post for me because this is what I actually want to wear right now; distressed denim, pumps, sunglasses, sunnies...Rather, I'm clothed in layers in sub temperature and snowy weather and just dreaming of being on the sunny beach...Lol

Not to digress from the matter at hand, I wanted to show with this post that there is another way we can wear plaid aside from wearing them in clothing like shirts, blouses, pants and scarves. Yes, I'm talking about my plaid pumps. It's such a fun print to add to your shoe collection and it adds a fun vibe to a casual look. One way to pull off this look in a cold Fall day is by adding a long trench coat or a regular coat in a darker color (shade) to the look and/or wearing a turtle neck sweater with shorter sleeves underneath the off-the-shoulder top and pulling the top lower a little bit. What do you think of plaid pumps?

JCrew: two trends in one

Happy Friday Lovelies. I hope our week was great and we are excited for the weekend..:-) Fridays and weekends are for casual styles (at least most of the time) and my post for today is about this casual style I wore a while back. I call this Jcrew top "2 for 1" because it is a combination of two trends; plaid and off-the-shoulder top. The reviews on this top were not too great on the site when it was released because a lot of people felt it had no fit and ran too large. However, It did not deter me from buying the top but I waited until it went on sale and surprisingly it was sold out in my size. I ended up getting a top two sizes larger than I normally wear and I figured I could just give it out as a gift if it doesn't fit.

Lo and behold, the fit was not too bad after all and it paired nicely with my light wash denim pants. What I am really saying from this chit-chat is that; you have to make sure you read reviews of items if you are making purchases online. You have to be informed about a product or an outfit so that you know what exactly you are paying for. Aside from comments on the piece of clothing itself, make sure you also pay attention to any comments about customer service and return policy. I for one, would never shop at a store that does not have quality products/clothing and good customer service and I'll never promote such a store or service. JCrew is a great store and I love their clothes and customer service so far including this trendy, plaid, off the shoulder top.

Cobalt Blue Off the shoulder top

When are we going to get tired of "off-the-shoulder tops?" It seems not yet...:-) I am wondering if the trend is going to continue on onto the Winter though haha! I purchased this cobalt blue top two summers ago when the off-the-shoulder top/dress was not such a big trend that it is now. I'll say too that I purchased it in error somewhat because I thought it was a longer dress when I saw it online. The dress arrived and it turned out to be too short and it ended up being a top. The store on-line store where I purchased the store is on amazon and I have purchased items from them before and their clothing items are always of good quality at great prices but their sizes do run small if you want to check them out.

As much as I like this trend, I do like it to be a little modest; just some little bit of bare shoulders and this perfectly fits the description; great color too. I paired it with a slightly distressed denim and my DIY pom-pom sandals to wear to my friend's son's birthday party; the perfect casual outfit for the event and the party was so much fun too; It always feels great to hang out with great friends and family.

What are you up to today or what are your plans for the weekend? I hope your week/weekend is going great. When you are tired of seeing off-the-shoulder tops on here, let me know! hehehe...:-)
Have a blessed and wonderful weekend.

Beige and Brown Outfit

Hello everyone...:-) I hope you are doing great. Just a quick post on what I wore to Church a while back. I started out by trying to style a monochrome beige look then just threw on the brown off-shoulder-blouse last minute. The end result was some sort of color block look rather than monochrome.
