Olive color Dress + orange color Slides

Hello 😊 This is just a quick post here sharing one of my simple casual outfits I wore this summer. I have had this dress for ever; I purchased it from TJ Maxx years ago and I just like the uniqueness the dress brings to my closet because of its color. The olive green color is different and the fabric of the dress is soft and comfy.  This is a dress I wear around at home and to make a quick dash to the store so, it is nothing fancy. However, I dressed it up by adding fun accessories like this straw hat, the cool satin orange slides from Target and this embroidered woven bag I got from the thrift store. Woven bags and/or beaded bags are the new fashion wave for Fall. Again, you do not have to spend tons of money on any trending piece that you do not know would be around for a long time. Just check out local fashion boutiques in your neighborhood, Easy Store, Amazon or the thrift store for an affordable version of the trend. Another way to go is to check brands and stores like Forever 21Asos  and Toyshop for affordable versions of the trend.

Yellow color Pantsuit + a straw bag

Happy Monday Friends 😀 I'm excited for the new week, are you? There is no Monday blues here. I'm starting off the week with this yellow color pantsuit and white sneakers which is my own idea of transitional outfits. I love a good pantsuit mostly because of its versatile styling. A pant suit can be worn the whole year with just a switch up o accessories. I paired mine with a straw bag and white sneakers and with a layered white tee, I could leave my blazer open because the weather still feels like summer. In my opinion, the accessories just scream summer including the green wrist cuff that was added for a pop of color. To take the pantsuit to fall, I would definitely wear a darker shade of suit or I would layer darker shades this like a teal color sweater and a pair of ankle boots. What do you say about Pant suits? Have a blessed week.

Green Gingham + Bermuda Shorts

Happy Friday Friends. This is a quick post here to share one of my most casual looks for the summer. What can be more casual than a pair of distressed bermuda jean shorts worn on a hot, hot summer day? I paired the denim shorts with a green color gingham off the shoulder top from JCrew. I love the color and style of the top. My yellow color mules previously styled here added a pop of color to my outfit. And what summer outfit can be complete without straw accessories? I'm starting to build a small collection of straw bags and hats. I really love the contrast and organic vibes they add to casual outfits and they have versatile styling too. They can be paired with dresses, shorts, pants, denim...they just go with any outfit and the fact that you can find very cute and quality straw hat and bag at any price range is a plus. This outfit was worn to the park with the kiddos where we had some great fun. We are still enjoying the last few days of summer. What about you; are you doing your best to enjoy the rest of summer or are you just eagerly waiting for fall? Thanks so much for stopping by here.

How to style the last days of Summer

Hello summer, please don't go! 😂 For one, I'm glad that though summer might have ended officially, (signaled by the Labor Day holiday and the students returning back to school) the weather is still summer; sunny and beautiful. I'm very glad that the nice weather seems to be holding out for u here in the state of Minnesota. We are a very cold state and have very long and cold winters so it is normal for Minnesota residents to hold unto summer and any sunny beautiful weather for as long as we can. And of of such residents is Moi, just sincerely ✋ I am going to hold unto summer for as long as I can kicking and screaming; haha! 😂 So, this post is specifically for me. There is not going to be fall transition outfits on this blog here until we see the dry leaves flying from the trees...LOL

Leopard Prints Trend: Pants and Loafers and a touch of red

*Look adapted from Twitter*

Leopard Prints is such a huge trend this Fall and this look featuring leopard prints pants and pointed loafers is a simple and classy way to wear the trend. As the temperature start to drop and those dresses and skirts are being put away, the leopard prints pants can be an addition or substitution in our wardrobe. When the temperature drops even further, the loafers can be switched out for boots and if you still want to add some color to your outfit while keeping warm, think red sock boots because sock boots are still a huge trend this fall. Click on the links below for style and shopping information. Happy viewing.

Work Wear: wearing White after Labor Day

Happy Tuesday Friends; it's a short work week for those of us that reside in the United States. I hope you had a fun Labor Day holiday yesterday. So, we are back to work today and the kids are back to school. It was the first day of school for my kids today and I was glad to send them off with prayers and thanksgiving. It's the best thing parents can do for their kids apart from providing them with all their needs; praying for them. I pray for my kids before they start a new school year for God to protect and guide them and help them make the right decisions at all times. The prayer has to continue too; not just a one day thing 😀 Okay, back to "Mommy Fashion;"what do you wear to work the day after Labor Day holiday which is the official end of summer? What do you say about the ongoing debate of not wearing white after Labor day? It's a rule that has been debunked long time ago as most people wear whites even well into the winter; winter whites anyone? The ongoing debate about not wearing whites after labor day by Fashion bloggers is just a fun debate at this time of the year; just something to talk about; so let's leave that old lady's tale alone 😊

Fall's Number One Bag Trend

                                          FALL'S FASHION ACCESSORIES
                                            The Fanny Pack

Happy Labor Day Friends 😀 If you live in the United States, you know today is a national holiday and the official last day of summer. Being a holiday, it is the perfect day to prepare for the upcoming Fall season. If your preparation involves going on a last minute vacation, going on a road trip, going to State Fairs or just hanging around enjoying a picnic or barbecue, the one accessory that you should think of adding to your closet is the waist bag. This is a fashion accessory that was very popular in the eighties and while Fashionistas were happy to lay it to rest for decades, its sudden resurgence in the recent season, has many excited. It was popularly known as the "Fanny Pack" in previous years and now it has gained other fancy names like "Waist Bag" and "Belt bag." While I have a "Love-Hate" relationship with this trend, I admit it does add a cool interest to an outfit. Also, designers have started making versatile bags that you can wear as a cross body bag and convert to a waist bag when you need to. Let's hope this trend hangs around for a while. Below are my selections of affordable, colorful fanny packs to fit any budget.

The different kind of prints; leopard, cheetah, zebra and the unusual colors (shade) is the twist to the trend this year. All leopard prints accessories are welcome too; belts, scarfs, bags and shoes. The styling options are endless too; mix leopard prints with polka dots for mixed print styling or style a leopard print cardigan or blazer with denim. Above is my Fall Leopard prints wish list. Polka dots blouse + High waist pants

Are we tired of the polka dots trend yet? I don't think so. This trend is going right through fall and even if goes away, it will show up again as it has done in previous years. This is the reason why I have so many polka dots pieces in my closet. I wore this blouse to church weeks ago and it is similar to the one I wore here, just a different color. For this look, I paired it with a black color high waist paints which is.....*shhhh* actually a maternity pant. Yup! It is one of my maternity pants I got from Target years ago that I converted to a high waist pants and I didn't even have to do any alterations to it. I completed the look with a black blazer and white pair of sandals; as simple as can be. Don't you love it when you are able to wear old pieces from your closet? Thank you so much of stopping by here.

How I style one shoulder tops

Happy Wednesday Friends; I hope the week is going great. It's almost Friday; Woot! 😁 This post is about overcoming personal insecurities when it comes to dressing up. Most women like me have one or two things about their bodies that they are insecure about and for me, it's my neck and fat arms...Lol 😂 This does not stop me from wearing off-shoulder tops or sleeveless tops though. I wear my looks with confidence; fat arms and all and you should too. I'm sharing this look I wore to Church weeks ago for our Wednesday mid-week service; a white one shoulder top over a red midi skirt.
