Happy Easter celebration to you + Chicwish Statement skirt

Happy Easter to you; I hope you ae having a beautiful celebration. Christ is risen and it's the time to celebrate the gift of salvation; speaking of which; I hope you know Easter has nothing to do with bunnies and colored eggs. The holiday is about celebrating the death and resurrection of our savior Jesus Christ. I had a very good time today at Church.

Vintage Styling: Floral Sequin blouse + Red circle Skirt

intage is where most things are going for me in the near future especially when it comes to fashion. I got this vintage looking sequin blouse from a thrift/consignment store in my neighborhood last year and previously styled it here. I was drawn to the many colors and sparkles that emanated from it while it was hanging on the rack. The sequin blouse is a statement piece because  of the colorful floral patterns or prints on it. I got it out again this season and paired it with this red circle skirt I got from Chicwish years ago when circle skirts and midi skirts were on trend. Well, it's 2019 and my skirt is still on trend for me...haha! 😂

Fashion Find: Swan Cloud Maxi Skirt at Chicwish

"Fashion Find" is a new feature or post on the blog that highlights any fashion piece that is outstanding or makes a statement just like this tiered maxi skirt above. This segment would only highlight clothing pieces and bags and jewelry or any other item related to fashion with the exception of shoes. All shoe posts will continue to be highlighted in the "Shoe Loving" posts like this one here and here and here and here; So back to this beautiful piece from Chicwish. It is a gorgeous skirt, hand made from layers of soft lace and tulle. It looks very delicate and stunning and would look great for any special occasion like wedding, bridal shower, birthday celebrations and special holidays like Easter and Christmas. The only con in wearing this piece is that you have to ensure you are not upstaging the celebrant/host of the event or special occasion you have been invited to and the style is not totally new, It has been around for a while now. The skirt comes in four colors; grey, pink, cream and lilac and you can check them  out here.

How I styled my Christmas Sweater

Hi Friends, I hope the week is going great so far. I had a bit of technical glitch on the blog that I just found out a few hours ago. I wrote and scheduled my Monday post last week hoping that it went live on Monday morning but was surprised when I logged in today and found out that the post did not publish and I had to publish it manually today. So, if you stopped by my blog yesterday and did not see any post for Monday, I apologize. I did some investigation and I found out that it was my own error; I scheduled the post without hitting the "publish button" so it remained as a draft instead of "auto-publish." If you've noticed, I have published a post every day for the past months and I also have posts scheduled every day for the rest of the year. I do not have any sponsored posts or campaigns on my blog presently; all my outfits are from my own closet so, I can publish my posts any time even if I have to do it retrospectively. Sponsored posts usually go with schedules and deadlines which can be just as hectic as having a regular job sometimes. My blog is my personal style diary and I do everything at my own pace which I totally love and enjoy. Thank you so much for your readership and support on here. I don't know if I can still do daily blog posts next year but we'll see how it goes...

Layered in Eshakti polka dots dress and a denim jacket

Happy Monday Friends; it's October....😀 October is my favorite month because it is my birthday month; haha! Then, I just love it because it is fall which is my favorite time of the year. I love the cold weather in October (not too cold and without the snow although we do get snow in October in Minnesota) and I love it when the trees start to change colors just before they lose their leaves. I love fall weddings too and I attended one a few weeks ago. My favorite layering piece this year is my denim jacket. For this look, I layered it over a polka dots dress which I used as a blouse when I tucked it into my red midi skirt. The polka dots dress I used for this look is this Eshakti polka dots dress I blogged about here. The dress has a full skirt but it tucked well into this full midi skirt I purchased from Chicwish a couple of summers ago. I completed the look with this Ann Taylor satin bow mules blogged about here and here. The weather is not cold enough yet for boots so I am enjoying this light layering for as long as I can. I shared my favorite Bible verse and prayer for the new month below and would love you to check it out. Thanks so much for stopping by here

How I style one shoulder tops

Happy Wednesday Friends; I hope the week is going great. It's almost Friday; Woot! 😁 This post is about overcoming personal insecurities when it comes to dressing up. Most women like me have one or two things about their bodies that they are insecure about and for me, it's my neck and fat arms...Lol 😂 This does not stop me from wearing off-shoulder tops or sleeveless tops though. I wear my looks with confidence; fat arms and all and you should too. I'm sharing this look I wore to Church weeks ago for our Wednesday mid-week service; a white one shoulder top over a red midi skirt.

Denim top and floral Skirt

Did someone say bohemian? Yeah, that is what I thought when I put this outfit together. I was in a rush to go to my friend's house for a meet-up and I was not in the mood for wearing denim pants plus the weather has started to warm up and I figured it was time to get out the skirts.

Florals and Velvet

Happy Tuesday Friends; this is a quick post showing another holiday look centered around florals just like the post I did on here. Can you spot the style board featuring this look? I paired a burgundy color velvet blazer over my old Chicwish floral skirt with a burgundy lace top as a camisole; a glitter clutch and suede heels completed the look. Velvet is so on trend this season and there are countless styling options you can achieve with a velvet blazer. This is somewhat a very formal look but take off the blazer and you are ready to party. I love you for stopping by here.

A Sweater and a Lace Skirt

Happy Tuesday Friends 😃 This is a very quick post on how to put together a holiday outfit when you have less than 10 minutes to dress up; yes, you heard me; less than ten minutes. As always, it is all about the accessories. For the holiday party or event, you can choose to do a color-themed outfit like red dresses, skirts, or even burgundy or green colored pieces to match the Christmas season or you can just throw on any outfit and wear sparkly accessories like a sequin clutch or sparkly shoes.

For this look, I just threw on a burgundy color cable knit sweater over a similar color lace skirt and accessorized with a pair of sparkly gold pumps that I purchased from Asos a couple of months ago and blogged about HERE and sparkly drop earrings. This outfit though somewhat casual, would definitely be appropriate for any holiday party. To make the look a bit more edgy, throw on a camel color long coat to break the monochrome look and you are good to go! Please, excuse my frowns. I took the pictures on a sunny day on my porch and my eyes were not having it 😃 I love you for reading.

Outfit on Repeat

This Chicwish skirt is always on repeat every summer and it should be the most repeated outfit on this blog. I don't know why I get drawn to it every summer probably because the print is so bold and it is such a cool statement with the London phone booth print. I have managed to update the look each time I wear it by wearing a trendy top or seasonal top. The last time I wore it in the Spring, I just tucked a cable knit sweater into it and wore knee high boots in this post here. You can also see the other post here.

This time around, I just tucked in this red off the shoulder top into the skirt and since off the shoulder tops are trending this summer, it seemed a perfect match for this statement skirt. One way to enjoy styling your clothes and shopping your closet is to mix old pieces with new pieces; don't you agree?

Has anyone ever posted a look multiple times on the blog? What other way do you suggest I wear this skirt next time? I'm thinking I could wear it as a sleeveless dress and then throw a blazer over it?...Lol What are your thoughts; yay or nay?

Blue Lace and red maxi Skirt

Hi Friends; I hope everyone is doing great; so much is happening in this world of ours these days that is so difficult to understand. So much violence and brutality in our beloved country; the U.S.A. It was independence day/July 4th a few days ago nd this outfit is what I wore over the weekend to church. The top is a Jcrew dress which I used as a top for my maxi Chicwish skirt. Lace dresses are so chic and so, so versatile for the fact that they do double duty as tops.

There are tons of ways of styling blue, red and white for independence celebration but for this outfit, I chose to eliminate the white and wore some tan color heels instead. Some people think wearing patriotic colors to celebrate July 4th is cheesy but I think it is fun; and fun and celebration are things we all need to strive for in this world rather than all the violence and killings. My heart goes out to the families who lost loved ones. #Blacklivesmatter #Alllivesmatter

Midi Skirt and a Sweater

I wore this outfit to church on Easter Sunday and I have actually posted pictures of this same skirt somewhere on the blog before. The popular London red bus/phone booth print midi skirt is from Chicwish and it is very catchy, girly and fun. The skirt was previously sold out but it's now back in stock. I am going to keep this post short and sweet by ending it right here...lol.
