𐌹n today's post, I'm wearing a Fall outfit that I repurposed for spring; Now that the weather has warmed up greatly, all my favorite trench and duster coats are in heavy rotation. A pair of snake print boots completed this all-white look along with this cow print bag that was gifted to me by my sister-in-law. You can find similar bags on Etsy. I'll chat with you in my next post and thanks so much for reading.

Pink Trench coat on repeat + Red Shoes
Ԋow is everyone doing? I hope okay. I'm going to make this post as short as possible. I'm wearing a fitted white long sleeve tee over denim which has become a sort of uniform for me these days. A fitted long sleeve tee is one of the most comfy and chic pieces to elevate a casual outfit in my opinion especially in the spring and fall seasons when the temperatures are low.
I completed the look with my white pouch bag from Amazon and a pair of red color shoes that looks somewhat like brogues. Although our weather is warming up, it still requires a light jacket or trench coat. Thank you so much for stopping by here.

Vintage trench coat + denim
Ͳhe weather in Minneapolis is warming up and calls now for light dusters and trench coats. This outfit is what I wore a few days ago. The trench coat is a vintage piece I got from a consignment shop in my neighborhood years ago. I love the somewhat puffy sleeves which is a nod to the puffy sleeves trend this season. The khaki or green color makes it a statement trench coat suited for many seasons.
I threw it over a white fitted long sleeve tee and light blue denim and accessorized with a multi color bag and this off white color ankle boots that is an old purchase from Asos. I love the unusual heels on the boots; it looks like a wine cork. How is the spring season going where you are? There is so much going on in the world right now and I really appreciate you for taking the time to stop by here. Thanks so much for reading.

Pink trench Coat + brown combat boots
My pink trench coat adds a pop of color to my all-red outfit thereby creating a sort of color block; deep saturated colors are trending, and Spring is here so, it's time to get out the colors. This post though is mainly about my combat boots. This brown Guess combat boots was thrifted a few years ago when I wanted to test out the combat boots trend; previously styled here.
I liked the look and comfort of the boots so much that I went ahead and purchased a new pair from DSW blogged about here also styled in my previous post.here. Combat boot is a trend that will be around for a while and even if it is no longer a trend, it's the right kind of boots to have in a winter boots collection. Thanks so much for reading.

Purple trench coat + My nine years blog Anniversary
Nine years ago today, I started this little blog of mine! It's so hard to believe that it's been nine years of writing and posting pictures on here. Blogging is a whole lot different now; not as fun as it used to be. Now, everything is different with numbers, numbers and monetization but I'm glad I'm still here and loving it.

Grey Sweater Dress + Green trench Coat
Happy Monday everyone. I hope to make this post as short as possible. I'm wearing a grey color sweater dress and a vintage green color vintage trench coat that has a removable floral lining for extra warmth. I love how the color of the coat just makes the otherwise grey outfit pop. This sweater dress is an old one from the closet purchased from Victorias' Secret years ago. The neckline can be turned into an off-shoulder style; can be worn as a cowl neck and it can also be worn over the head like a hood. I just love the versatility of this sweater dress. I wear it a lot in the winter months and it is so worn now that I think it is finally time to give it a break. I'll only wear it to lounge at home from now onwards. I paired the grey dress with high heeled ankle boots and a black bag; trying to keep it very simple and neutral underneath the green coat. Lastly, my green and gold tone statement earrings completed the look. If you are asking what I'm thinking; yes, the coat is a thrifted piece from years ago. I think I paid about $15 or $20 dollars for it and then I had it dry cleaned too. I take care of all my winter coats and store them properly because they are not really just fashion pieces for me but essentials. I have a couple of 100 % wool coats that actually cost up to a $1000 for a new piece but I got each of them for under $100 at the thrift and consignment store like the camel coat I wore here and here. You need to have good warm coats and trench coats if you live in Minneapolis. Thanks so much for stopping by here.

Pink Trench Coat + Plaid Pants
I have had this pink trench coat for years now and since it is light weight, I wear it mostly in the spring and fall. However, it does come in handy in the winter time too whenever I need to add a pop of color to my grey and dark colored winter wardrobe. I wore the coat recently with very good layering underneath; a black cowl neck sweater and over sized, high waist plaid pants with pink and grey colors. The pants are really extra long on me and I'm thinking of doing some DIY on the hem. I might cut off an inch or two from the hem and convert it to a belt for the waist of the pants. I'll let you know how it goes. I really plan on doing a lot of DIYs on the blog this year. I believe it is time to start expressing more of my creative side than just consuming everything. Instead of buy, buy, buy...how about I say, make, make, make....hehehe! 😁 I purchased my trench coat which is somewhat like a mackintosh from a thrift/consignment store in my neighborhood called Arc's Value Village years ago. You have heard me talk about the thrift store a lot lately on the blog and this is because I intend to live life in a more eco friendly way going forward. I made a trip to the store recently and would do a post on the items I got in my next upcoming post.

How to style a Statement Coat:
Hello, I hope you are keeping warm. This post is on how to style a statement coat for winter and the tip I usually use is to keep everything else neutral or simple and let the coat stand out on its own. A coat is a statement coat when it has an overwhelming design, details or color. This green trench coat is such and another cool thing about it is that it has an attached floral light jacket extra lining which comes off and can be worn on its own. The coat is heavy but warm and cozy at the same time. I got it from a high end thrift store/consignment store in my city years ago. And I tell you, if you live in a cold region like I do and are looking to get great coats on a budget, just check out

Khaki Trench Coat + Block heel Pumps
So, the weather has started to warm up a lot and it is actually going to be in the 50s next week; currently, the temps is in the upper 30s to 40s and it's definitely time to get out the trench coats and lighter jackets. This Khaki trench coat is an Ivanka Trump brand and it's an old purchase from Nordstrom. I like the beautiful intricate details on the coat like the bows on the sleeves and the folded inseams at the back and the contrast color lapels; definitely a well tailored trench coat. I paired it with a white tee and black denim and green velvet pumps blogged about HERE. The pumps appear to be black in these pics due to the pics quality but they are actually dark green and gave a nice contrast to the coat; speaking of which; I'm quite aware of all the controversy surrounding the Ivanka Trump brand right now and although this is not a political blog but I'll just give my two cents on the matter here.
In as much as I support business decisions made by stores and their right to stop carrying items that do not sell, I also believe it is not a good idea to snub Ivanka Trump's brand because of her Dad's attitude. I follow Ivanka Trump on Instagram and I love her family commitment and her entrepreneurial skills and she really makes beautiful clothing and shoes because I have a couple of items from her brand in my closet right now. I know everyone has the right to make whatever decisions they choose to but the Christianly thing to do is to move on and pray for everyone including your enemies and show them love when you can. I know this is a very hard and sensitive issue..."Anywho," I am on a shopping freeze right now so, I won't be buying any item from Nordstrom or any other store that is involved with this controversy but I'll gladly wear and blog about her clothing that I already purchased a while back. Hmmm**clears throat** what say you? 🙆

1 Timothy 2: 1-3
First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for Kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior...

Trench Coat and Sandals
Happy Friday friends. This is another throw back or flashback look from my camera archives. I wore this outfit last Fall and it was not cold at the time so I could wear a pair of sandals with my trench coat. All the pictures are random and were taken when I was not looking hence the robot-like poses..😄 I remember I took my kids out and they were running excitedly around me and I was trying to get their attention and keep everyone together.
This outfit consists of very basic wardrobe essentials; a white tee, denim, off the shoulder bag and a trench coat which you can swap for a blazer. When in doubt of what to wear somewhere, throw all these pieces together and you are good to go. A good idea is to have two blazers; one in a neutral color and another in a beautiful shade that you love for a great pop of color. And if you do not like blazers, you can do kimonos or sleeveless vests. Have a great weekend everyone.

Black trench coat and color blocking
It's April; woot! woot!! Summer is almost here. I am very sure this is the most color I ever wore in an outfit during the spring season; usually at this time of the year, we are still bundled up in dark grey heavy coats and snow boots in Minnesota but the weather has been so good to us this year. It was very sunny when I took these pictures on my porch and I actually needed sun glasses. I do not like the way I frown when the sun gets in my eyes..lol. I know it is time to rummage in the closets to get out the sunglasses. Summer is around the corner "Yay!!"

What accessory are you digging out of your closet for the summer? We all do need sunnies for sure and probably some sun lotion too if you plan on spending a lot of time outside. I can't wait for summer to get here..lol

Behind the scenes
Hi friends, I have been off from Blogsville for a few days because I have been super busy behind the scenes. I have been trying to create a perfect balance in my schedule in between work, family and other beautiful things that make life great. I hope everyone is doing good and having fun so far. Hopefully, I would have some more time soon to resume my normal blogging schedule.
This outfit is what I wore today to run errands around town and it is the outfit inspired by the Polyvore Collage I blogged about here sans the shorts. The shirt is pretty old and I have had it for years but I just can't let go of it yet because it's so comfy. I love the soft linen fabric. I'm currently craving this long sleeved version on J. Crew here. I swopped the shorts for some denim pants because fall is upon us already and it was a little chilly today. My new trench coat from Old navy came in handy too.
Top: T. J. Maxx (old) Similar
Pants: Target here
Shoes: DSW
Clutch: blue by linea pelle
Hat: Neighborhood boutique
Sunnies: Loft
Trench coat: Old Navy
