How to style a Statement Coat:

Hello, I hope you are keeping warm. This post is on how to style a statement coat for winter and the tip I usually use is to keep everything else neutral or simple and let the coat stand out on its own. A coat is a statement coat when it has an overwhelming design, details or color. This green trench coat is such and another cool thing about it is that it has an attached floral light jacket extra lining which comes off and can be worn on its own. The coat is heavy but warm and cozy at the same time. I got it from a high end thrift store/consignment store in my city years ago. And I tell you, if you live in a cold region like I do and are looking to get great coats on a budget, just check out such stores in your city. I have quite a collection of good quality coats and trenches that I have accumulated over the years. You can also check consignment stores online like Therealreal

So, back to this outfit; I paired the coat with a cable knit black sweater which is super warm too and a black pair of trouser jean. My military inspired boots which can also be worn two ways; as an ankle boots or regular boots just by adjusting the buttons, completed the look. I must say there was a lot of military inspired vibes with this outfit as the trench coat is a military inspired piece too. Thank you so much for stopping by.
