Pink trench Coat + brown combat boots

My pink trench coat adds a pop of color to my all-red outfit thereby creating a sort of color block; deep saturated colors are trending, and Spring is here so, it's time to get out the colors. This post though is mainly about my combat boots. This brown Guess combat boots was thrifted a few years ago when I wanted to test out the combat boots trend; previously styled here.

I liked the look and comfort of the boots so much that I went ahead and purchased a new pair from DSW blogged about here also styled in my previous post.here. Combat boot is a trend that will be around for a while and even if it is no longer a trend, it's the right kind of boots to have in a winter boots collection. Thanks so much for reading.

Purple + Lilac + Calf hair Pumps

Purple is one of my favorite colors and I loved when it was the trending color this past spring. The color might have taken a back seat this fall because of the animal prints trend but not for me. I'm still riding the wave of the spring season pastel lilac trend 😉 I styled this pants previously in this post here and this styling is based on this inspiration mood board here. In order to keep my outfit updated, I just mixed in a dose of prints by wearing this calf hair prints pump; an old purchase from Victorias' Secret catalogue years ago. It's a hard to get a good quality pair of black and white calf hair, cheetah prints pumps these days because they sell out pretty fast. Check out this grey and black Sam Edelman's pump here. It is not calf hair but it's similar in color. We all know the brown colored leopard prints is more common than the black and white ones. So, if you want to make your leopard prints style unique this season, you definitely want to go for the color that is a little out of the box. Leopard prints come in so many different colors now and mixing two different colors of animal prints is another way of putting a twist to the trend. For this look, I just threw on my oversized purple cardigan over a black tank top paired with my lilac pants and I was good to go. Thanks so much for stopping by here.

Summer color-blocking: Mint + White

I am sharing one of my favorite color block style for the summer; mint and white. I have had this ruffle blouse for years; an old purchase from T. J. Maxx. I love the color of the top but the crinkly fabric, I don't like so much. It creates a puckered shape in front that makes me look like I am bloated so I really don't like the top that much. I'm currently loving this luxury piece here. I like to pair it the top with my white color wide legged pants as I did in this post. It is a simple outfit I wear to very casual events. I admit I needed a third color to amp up the outfit and yellow, purple or magenta would have just been fine. I could not find my yellow drop earrings so I opted for the gold bracelet instead. Any color pairs well with white really and the third color just brings everything home.

How to style Monochrome; Lilac + Purple

Happy Monday everyone; I hope your weekend was great. Mine was awesome. I spent a lot of time with family and we went to the mall, went out to eat, went to a birthday party and most importantly, went to church. This is the outfit I wore to church yesterday; lilac and purple outfit. Lilac or lavender as some would call it is a color that is trending this season as we know and the easiest way to style it is to pair it with white, cream  or other pastels. For this look I decided to do monochrome styling by pairing my lilac lace top with lilac color pants. I chose to complete the look with a deep purple color blazer, light purple pumps and a straw bag. You can tell by now that I love the straw bag trend. They add a very organic feel to any outfit. So, what is the key to styling a monochrome look? Mix textures.

Green Leather Skirt and pumpkin Color Shirt

Hello friends, I hope we are enjoying this month thus far; October is my birth month so, I'm always super excited everyday in the month of October; yep! I'm so thankful to God for his love and protection on me. I wore this color-block look sometime in Spring and because it is flashback Friday in the social media world, I decided to share the look today. More so, the color in the outfit is a nod to the Fall season.

The green leather skirt; I have had for years and the button down long sleeved top was purchased last summer from Coldwatercreek. Somehow, I always thought this green leather skirt was difficult to style and aside from pairing it with the basic white and black colors, I never really thought of other ways of styling it until I did this pairing. There are so many other pairings I am looking forward to doing with this leather skirt now.

Do you have a clothing item in your closet that you feel is difficult to style? and what other ideas aside from the obvious black and white and polka dot and plaid pairing do you have for this leather skirt? Please, share...
