Faux Jumpsuit + Oversized camel color Coat

One of my styling tricks is pairing shades of same color together in a monochromatic style to achieve a totally new look thereby making the pieces versatile. I am able to achieve a faux jumpsuit just by pairing a simple top and pant together like I did in this look. The top and the pant are nearly the same shade of red so this makes the outfit look like a one piece. This styling tip definitely expands our wardrobe. My turtle neck top is from Boohoo and my pants are an old purchase from Victorias' Secret and the long length makes it perfect for layering in the winter. My oversized camel color coat completed the look and with the freezing temps we have been having here for days, a large comfy coat is a must. This coat is also a thrifted piece by the way.

Red Polka dots blouse + Red wide legged Pants

Happy Monday Friends. I am still on "Blogcation" so to speak but I somewhat find the time to write posts and schedule them every now and then. I'm not taking blog pictures anymore; these pictures are old pictures taken with my iPhone 6 from my archive and their quality is not great but I intend to continue to use them to update my blog while I am away. See my previous post here. Right now, I'm just enjoying myself with the family engaging in fun activities and a lot of reading is still involved too. I go to the library at the end of every week with the kiddos to get books and I take time to gloss through recent fashion magazines while I am there because I do not have a single magazine subscription. I used to years ago until I realized that it was hard for me to let them go. I had boxes and boxes of old magazines in my house and it took the will of God to finally get rid of them 😅 So, library is where I go to read fashion magazines when I need to and I never touch the ones at waiting rooms at the clinic or car garages or any other lounging area; never! And I do not smoke too just in case you are thinking about that because of the picture below. I just asked one of my kids to take me quick pictures at the entrance of the building and if you squint, you can see the reflection of the kids on the glass door 😀

My July 4th Outfit

Hi Friends 😀 I trust you had a stylish and exciting July 4th Celebration yesterday. This outfit is what I wore at the later part of the day to attend Mid-Week Church Service. My Family drove to Wisconsin which is a couple of hours away from where I live in Minnesota and we spent some hours in the country, had picnic on the farm and did some sight seeing in Stillwater, a city on the Minnesota-Wisconsin border I had not explored before. It was a fun road trip and the kids had so much fun. For the trip, I wore a pair of distressed denim shorts, this striped oversized tee I purchased from Victorias Secret a long time ago and completed the look with my white sneakers. I changed from the denim shorts into this denim for Church and threw a blue blazer over the look. When we left Church, we ended up at a Family barbecue where we ended the day with great food and fireworks. How did your own day go?

Draped in Oversized blue Coat and blanket scarf.

It's Friday! Woot!! Woot!!! And Friday calls for a casual style. This is one of those days when you can't even deal; you just want to go with the flow of the cold, windy, dreary weather. I'm off running errands today and to get ready, I got in my closet and just grabbed the blanket scarf and this huge blue coat and draped them on. The only stylish thing I did for this outfit was making a conscious effort to wear a white button down shirt instead of a sweater. I did throw on a couple of tees under the shirt by the way because the aim or objective here, is just to keep warm.

Oh, I also put on a pair of burgundy color booties for a pop of color (blogged about HERE) and it went well with the colors in the scarf. Like I always say, blanket scarfs are very essential for the Winter time. This particular one I have on here is more like a comforter or duvet because it is really, really huge...😅
Bundled up like this in the cold and running around doing errands, you get the feeling that you are still home laying in bed...hehehe..😉

I hope the week was great for you. I'm so looking forward to having a beautiful weekend and I pray you have a nice one too. What are your "go-to" pieces for staying warm this Winter? Thanks so much for reading.

Burgundy mock wrap skirt + A fur stole

Happy Tuesday 😀 This post really validates my love for faux fur this season. I have been draping faux fur stoles over most of my outfits recently and I don't think I'm going to stop anytime soon; ha! ha!! So, this is the outfit I wore to Church on Sunday and it might look a little matchy-matchy but at the time, there was no way I was going to leave the house without a scarf and this burgundy color stole I purchased over the holiday was the perfect accessory to go with this burgundy color mock skirt I bought from Boohoo two winters ago. Burgundy is a color that is somewhat prevalent in the fall and winter season and can be perfect in accessories too like the pair of booties I blogged about HERE. At the moment, I'm also loving this beautiful burgundy color velvet clutch HERE

It was freezing last Sunday and I was supposed to wear stockings with this outfit for warmth but I was running late for Church and did not want to waste more time looking for my stockings (I need to do a better job organizing my closet) so I just draped my long camel color coat over this outfit and I felt warm and cozy. The long coat also provided a deep contrast to the matchy-matchy burgundy color and I'm sorry I did not get a picture of it. What do you think of faux fur stoles ladies? Yay! or Nay? Thanks so much for reading.

Upgrade your intimates Season

Happy Saturday friends. If you are still shopping and buying those last minute gifts for your friends and family then you might want to stop by one of America's popular lingerie and intimates store this season. Victoria's secret stores always have very good sales at this time of the year and this would be a good time to purchase those intimate essentials like sleepwear, lingerie, fragrances and beauty products. The advice given by beauty consultants is for ladies to go for bra sizing/fittings at least once yearly especially if they lost some weight or went through some physical transformation like pregnancy and child care. Some of the sales this season include "free shipping on orders over $125" and "buy 2, get 2 free on fragrance gifts and accessories."

                                                               Happy shopping

From Summer to Winter Midi skirt

Happy Thursday Everyone 😃 the weekend is almost here. It's freezing in my city and the temperature is going to drop even more this weekend with lots of snow. This post is on how to wear your summer pieces in the cold season or Winter. The key to do this is always the change of accessories as we all already know by now. I wore this Ann Taylor pineapple print midi skirt a couple of times in the summer and blogged about it HERE. This piece by all indications,  is definitely a summer piece at least judging by the print. This midi skirt was a huge hit in the stores and online because it sold out pretty quickly. Fast forward to last Sunday when we had a huge snow storm and I reached for the skirt again 😂

I have a couple of winter or heavy fabric skirts in my closet that I could have worn to church last Sunday but I was determined on wearing this particular skirt so I whopped out my winter accessories; this DIY faux fur snood, my knit sweater dress (worn as top) and over the knee boots. I completed the look with a blue long coat which is not shown in these pics and I was comfy and chic! Don't you think? wink!! Thanks so much for reading.

Trench Coat and Sandals

Happy Friday friends. This is another throw back or flashback look from my camera archives. I wore this outfit last Fall and it was not cold at the time so I could wear a pair of sandals with my trench coat. All the pictures  are random and were taken when I was not looking hence the robot-like poses..😄 I remember I took my kids out and they were running excitedly around me and I was trying to get their attention and keep everyone together.

This outfit consists of very basic wardrobe essentials; a white tee, denim, off the shoulder bag and a trench coat which you can swap for a blazer. When in doubt of what to wear somewhere, throw all these pieces together and you are good to go. A good idea is to have two blazers; one in a neutral color and another in a beautiful shade that you love for a great pop of color. And if you do not like blazers, you can do kimonos or sleeveless vests. Have a great weekend everyone.

Polka dot Skirt

It's Friday; 'yay!!!" This is a quick look at this fun outfit I wore a few weeks ago and it can be a fun outfit for the weekend for anyone; a mix of formal and casual. The formal being the dress up shirt and the casual being the polka-dots high-low skirt and block heels. You can wear this outfit with slight modifications to work on Friday for casual Friday and to after hours shenanigans. Polka dots skirts are always fun to wear and you can certainly twirl in a full midi skirt like this one. Happy Friday...:-)

Color block scarf

It's been very snowy and cloudy over here in my neck of the woods; although it has not been too cold, I wish the sun would break out in the clouds for a day or two. Aside from getting people excited and lifting off the winter blues, the sunshine would certainly make my pictures better. I did get a good DSLR for my blog pictures some months back but I am just thinking of how cumbersome it would be to start setting up on tripods again...lol. I know I'll get to it eventually. As for these pictures, they were taken by my son on our way home from church last Sunday.

I finally got to own this color-block stripe scarf which I purchased from Romwe just before Christmas when I got out of my temporary shopping ban. I had seen and admired the scarf on other bloggers for a while and when I got the e-mail alert that it was on sale at the Romwe website, I took the bait. Previously, I had been skeptical about shopping on China websites due to sizing and other shipping issues that I had read reviews about online but I had a great experience at Romwe. The items I ordered arrived on time and the quality of the items were great too. However, I would still advice everyone to be vigilant when shopping online and only shop from sites that you trust and have researched and read reviews about. Anyway, I love the way the color-block scarf added a pop of color to my monochrome outfit and I look forward to getting good use out of it in future with other pairings.

I wish you a fabulous weather wherever you are and all of God's blessings in the new month of February.

Blue Plaid Coat

I had the opportunity to wear this blue plaid coat; one of my favorite coats at the beginning of fall. I got it last Spring at the end of season sales and it was quite a good discount although I do not remember the exact amount I paid for it. I love the great blue color and the bold collar. These pictures do not show its real beauty and I look forward to taking pictures of it again with a better camera. I paired it with one of my favorite jeans too that I blogged about here. The great thing I like about this coat is that; it can be worn over formal and casual outfits with ease and I like the tie belt in front.

If you are looking to winter buy coats; the end of season is the right time to shop. The only downside about waiting at the end of the season to snag a sale is that; there are always limited sizes and colors available at that time. Just a couple of days to Christmas; I'm so excited. My baby turns 2 also on Christmas day. God has been good to me.
