How I styled my tiered Dress
Ᏸaby doll dresses "was" a big trend this summer and I think it's partly due to their versatility. The dresses are casual enough to wear as lounge wear and they can also be dressed up with the use of accessories like belts and blazers. I purchased this orange color dress from H&M over the summer and this is how I styled it. The multi color strap sandals are from DSW while my floral bag is from Etsy. The bag is made from African fabric called "Ankara" or "Kente" and it adds a certain flair or vibe to an outfit. You can get them in different styles and colors on the Etsy Website and remember that when you buy from small businesses on Etsy, you support someone's dream and provide income for families and households directly as opposed to supporting big corporations. If you insist on buying from big corporations, make sure it supports great causes and equal justice organizations like "Black lives Matter." Thanks so much for reading.

Plaid Pants + Pouch Vintage Bag
ᔑo Thanksgiving is done and now unto the next big holiday, Christmas which is my favorite holiday of the year. I am planning on putting all my holiday looks together this weekend; it's last minute I know. I did not do any shopping on Black Friday; got most of my shopping done already so all I did on Black Friday was just lounge in the house. I slipped out of my lounge clothes later in the day to throw on this casual outfit and again the weather was bearable so I had to wear my beloved mules, haha! 😂

How I styled my camo prints pencil Skirt
Happy Friday Friends 😁 This is a flash back look to this outfit I wore last fall and just pulled from my photo archives. I have always loved camo prints because it's so edgy and chic and for a long time, I wanted a clothing item with this print. I saw a couple of camo print pants, skirts and jackets online over the years but never made a purchase. There was always something wrong with the piece; it was either the skirts were too short or the style too juvenile and the really nice designs were too expensive like this beautiful camo print midi skirt here. So, I just settled for an accessory in this camo print pumps here and styled here and here. Then I stumbled accidentally on this camo print pencil skirt on a site that retails modest fashion called Apostolic Clothing. The skirt comes in this knee length and also in a maxi. I love the length of the skirt but the fabric is a bit stretchy and cannot really be described as modest because it clings to the curves but a big or baggy top would be appropriate depending on what event or occasion you are styling it for. Another place you can get unique designs of camo print pant or skirt is on Etsy. Another alternative is to get the camo print fabric at a fabric store and then sketch your own design and send it out to a seamstress. You might end up spending more money but you'll always get a unique piece and there is always the satisfaction that you are channeling your own creativity.

The Snood: A Winter Closet Essential
The snood is a closet essential for the winter especially at this time when we are having a deep freeze in most parts of the mid-west of the United States with temperatures dipping as low as -27 degrees Fahrenheit in some states. Snoods are sometimes confused with infinity scarfs but they are different. A snood is a piece of clothing used by women to cover the upper part of their body usually the head and neck. it has a cowl shape in most cases and sits very close (snug) to the neck. It can be a knitted piece of fabric or crotchet. It can also be made from any other fabric so long as it stretches and can go over the head if it needs to like a hood and this is the main distinction of a snood from an infinity scarf. An Infinity scarf is a loop of fabric that is worn loosely around the neck like a scarf. Sometimes, infinity scarfs can be folded around the neck a couple of times to convert them into a snood like this piece here. In my opinion, a snood is usually warmer and more cozy than an infinity scarf. You can layer it over a top, sweater or dress and a colorful snood can elevate any winter outfit. A good place to shop for snoods is on Etsy Website. I have rounded a couple of snoods and infinity scarfs in the links below if you want to check them out and check out the original post of this outfit here. Stay warm and fabulous!
