Monochrome Style: Brown and Nude Knits

 

       One of my goals this year when it comes to fashion is to wear more colors. I realized that monochrome styling is what comes to me naturally whenever I'm putting outfits together and I want to get out of my comfort zone from now onwards. Also, I want to find more joy in blogging again. For the past two years, I have been using this blog as a sort of fashion Journal or Diary only to document my outfits. 

 I set the blog on private because I just could not get myself to deactivate or delete the blog. (Probably, I just like writing for myself) Now, I am thinking I need to set it back to public viewing at least for my upcoming ten years blogging Anniversary. I'll think seriously of what to do with the blog afterwards.

Green tulle Skirt monochrome style

 

     It's 2021!  Hello, wishing everyone a happy new year again. Thanks so much for stopping by here. I hope the new year is off to a great start. This is a very quick post yet again and it is green for a reason; green symbolizes growth and growth is all we need right at this season. I'm wearing a green maxi tulle skirt, green blazer, and embellished glitter heels. I wore this outfit to Church today. What about you? Have you attended Church this year? Thanks so much for reading.

Grey Monochrome Outfit and the secret to staying happy

                ᖾappy Monday Friends; I hope you had an awesome weekend and if you are in the United States, happy Presidents's day. Schools are closed today and some employees get today off as a holiday and this means an extra day to get things done or laze around. I'm glad my kids do not have school today and I look forward to enjoying the day with my family. I wore this monochrome outfit to church a few weeks ago; the grey bodysuit tee paired with this ruffle tiered maxi skirt.

Grey Monochrome Styling: Long Coat + Clear Bag

Happy Monday everyone; this another monochrome styling on the blog today just like the one I did here. This time, I'm doing an all grey monochromatic look that is suitable to wear to work any day this season. I know it is spring already but it is still cold here; cold enough to keep putting on layers. Here, I wore a grey color turtle neck sweater over grey color pants and this pants are really comfy; an old purchase from Macy's. The statement piece in this outfit is this long grey coat which I donned on more for style than for warmth because I was already dressed warm with the sweater. And as usual, this is one of the coats I got from the consignment store. It is a pre-owned 100% wool coat that would sell for hundreds of dollars new, at the retail store but I got it for less than a hundred bucks. This plaid transparent bag tote that I blogged about here completed the look along with this V-style  slip on booties. This look is suitable for work and any other formal event on a very cold day. Wine color Monochrome Outfit + Tweed oversized Coat

In my previous post, I styled a monochromatic neutral look and for this post today, I decided to do another monochromatic styling with a punch of color this time. I paired my wine color cable knit sweater over a pair of wine color corduroy pants and the cable knit on the sweater adds texture to the outfit. For warmth, I threw on a tweed coat to break the monochromatic styling. A black pair of ankle boots and a black purse completed this simple, casual look. In warmer weather, the coat can be switched out for a light weight blazer. This look can be worn to most casual events and just about anywhere by switching out a piece or two. Again for warmer temps, I can switch out the sweater for a neck-tie blouse like this piece here.

The one accessory to have on a rainy day

Hi everyone, how are you doing? So, we've had a couple of rainy days here in my neck of the woods and the rainy day is the inspiration for this post. I know when you saw the title of this post, you immediately thought of the brolly or umbrella as the one accessory to have on a rainy day. That is not what this post is about though. The one accessory I would grab as I head out the door on a rainy day is this clear clutch I am holding in these pics which is a DIY project by the way. I'll let you in on the details later. Do you remember the post I did on clear bags here? Yeah, I expressed my love for clear bags or PVC bags as some would call them but also pondered about the practicality of the bags.

Keeping it simple and bright: Pink pant suit + white Pumps

Hi Friends, we are going to keep this post short and simple because we are still talking about Pastels and it needs no more introduction plus the outfit itself is simple. I must say pink is my favorite pastel and it is no wonder that I have had this pink blazer for years. It is actually a thrifted piece and cost me less than $10 at the time I got it. I paired the pink blazer with  pink denim pants similar to this pair from Jcrew here. I get really excited when I am able to put together a complete outfit by playing mix-and-match in my closet and I have lots of pantsuits that I have paired together like that. Sometimes, the two colors are a little off and not a perfect match but it is still okay. Monochrome styling does not always have to be perfect. I completed the look with white pumps and a straw bag just because white pumps are the new neutrals and straw bags are just here to stay.
