Green Dupioni Midi Dress + Ankle Boots

Happy Monday Friends; in keeping with my new year goals to buy less and style more, I'm restyling this green dupioni midi dress from my closet. It's a dress I got through a collaboration with eShakti years ago and I have styled it previously on the blog here and here. Each time I style the dress by switching up my accessories, it always feels like I have on a new dress or outfit. The first time, I wore it with leopard print pumps and a statement jewelry for a very simple look. I layered a black sweater and knee boots with it the second time. And yesterday I decided to layer a black turtle neck sweater underneath to wear to church. I cinched the waist with an embellished Asos belt similar to this and completed the look with my Altuzarra ankle boots and Nine West snake print bag. The weather was very cold so I wore a pair of black stockings with the look. It was a very windy and cloudy day yesterday and the dress does look different in every pic mostly because of the dupioni fabric and iridescent texture that makes it look different based on how the sun or light hits it. The wind also whipped up snow and tossed it on me; I must say it was a fun shoot yesterday after church.

My Wish List from Eshakti Sale

One of my goals this year is to update my wardrobe with more classy pieces and what is more classy than a well made, beautiful dress to wear to grown-up events like mile stone birthdays, wedding anniversaries...which I seem to be getting invites to a lot more these days; haha! 😆 This is why I made a little change in my shopping budget when I got notification about the ongoing Eshakti sale and if you are a new customer to the site, you get 40% off your first purchase when you register on the site. The selections below are some of my favorites.

Eshakti Maxi Shirt- Dress

Hello lovelies; you'll have to squint to see these pictures here..lol. My son  took them with my phone after church service on Sunday and I never really checked the pictures to make sure they were okay before we left church. I looked in my phone later and was surprised at how dark they all were because the lighting was poor but I did manage to edit them a little to show the shirtdress I wore. I purchased this shirtdress last year from Eshakti and I blogged about it on my wish list here.  It was a very simple look and I just paired it with my red fringe sandals I purchased from Zulily. The best thing about this dress is that it is so versatile. Right after church, we stopped by at the lake so the kids could play and my shirtdress was just appropriate for the lake too. I did take some pictures with my Canon DSLR camera at the lake and since those pictures are better, I'll share them later on the blog.

Shirt Dress: Eshakti /Fringe Sandals: Zulily

Maxi shirt dresses can be very comfy and very appropriate for the summer. This particular style with the gorgeous print (belt included) is currently sold out but there are other beautiful options out there. Get one, if you like casual, chic and comfy.

Red lace on Circle skirt and Candy Cane

It is time for spring cleaning again; the warm up has started over here and the snow is starting to melt; thank God..:-) I can't wait for Summer to get here. This outfit is one of the couple of outfits I wore during the holidays and this post has been saved in my folder for weeks. The lace top is actually the lace dress I wore in this outfit here and I know every lady must know by now how easy it is to convert a dress into a top or a skirt. My red circle skirt I purchased from Chicwish a couple of months ago has been in heavy rotation lately. The two pieces matched so well that it looked like I was wearing a dress. The candy cane décor on my lawn looked like added accessories to my outfit too..:-)

I have a couple more outfits saved in my blog folder and I am going to go ahead and just upload them on the blog the next couple of days; so watch out for marathon posts on here.

The red lace dress

Hi friends, it's been a long time and I just do not want to give all the excuses in the book for my mini hiatus. A very big thanks to everyone who stopped by to leave comments on my last post. So, I'm back with this post that has been saved in my archive since Christmas; yep! my Christmas outfit..lol. This Eshakti red lace dress had been in the closet for months because I was actually saving it for Christmas; it was one of the pieces on my Eshakti blog list here and my first ever red lace dress. I styled it in a different way during the Christmas break by using it as a top for a skirt and I will share the pics in a different post. This dress was about $80 when I purchased it and I knew the price was steep but I am glad I'll be able to get multiple use out of it plus the lace is of a very high quality too.

Dress: eshakti /Jewelry: jcrew / Pumps: Victorias secret (old) / Purse: Express / Faux fur vest (old)

The faux fur vest was only used as a hand accessory and I only threw it on in some of the pictures just to see how it would look but I didn't mind posting the pics though...lol; a faux fur vest over a lace dress? that might definitely get me on a worst dressed list somewhere I think; what are your thoughts?

We had a very beautiful weather for Christmas and it's very much different from what we have now. I can't wait for spring to get here; getting tired of the snow and cold. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those in the line of the impending storm in the east coast and other parts of the country.

Draped...

Happy Wednesday everyone; I hope you are all having a great week so far. I presently have my family members vacationing here in Minnesota so, I'm still in the holiday mode. It's always nice to have family around especially when you don't get to see all the time due to distance and busy schedule. I wore this draped blouse that I purchased from eshakti a while ago over this white denim pants today and finished the look off with my Nine West floral pumps. I fell in love with floral pumps when they came on the scene recently and you can see my previous post here. Floral pumps are very unique and they can be worn just about anywhere depending on their style or color. This navy-blue and white floral pumps can go to the office too with a very formal look.

As for this draped blouse, I just love the color but it's hard to tell if it is actually heather grey or blue in color. I just realized recently that I do not have a lot of blue pieces in closet aside from the regular denim so, I have been adding blue color items into my closet.

Blouse: eshakti (sold out)
Denim: Calvin Klein:  via T. J. Maxx
Pumps: Nine West

I wish you all of God's blessings for the rest of the week and if you are stopping by here for the first time, please, leave your comment or a link and I'll definitely stop by your space to say hi.

Brush Strokes..

Happy Sunday Friends; the summer heat is here. It was so hot today that I was so puzzled on what to wear to beat the heat. I finally picked this white plain tee but the fabric was so light and sheer and my undergarments were showing so I had to layer a tank top underneath. I paired it with this multi color midi skirt that has such a beautiful print of a landscape. Yes, "Artsy Print" is the print that is really trending right now. On this skirt you can see all the beautiful brush strokes of a carefully painted landscape; how awesome. If you remember, this skirt was on my Eshakti list a while ago when I hosted my Giveaway.

I fell in love with the skirt when I saw it on the Eshakti website but it was not part of the free selection for bloggers review so I could not pick it at the time. I had to purchase it on my own later along with another gorgeous red lace dress. I paired the skirt with my blue cobalt pumps and this multicolor necklace I got from Walmart last year. I was able to beat the heat in this outfit and I know I will be recycling this skirt again this summer.

Tee: Victorias Secret
Skirt: Eshakti sold out similar
Shoes: sold out
Necklace: Walmart

I hope you have got your summer wardrobe ready if you are reading this post; tees and light skirts are a must-have for the summer heat. This is one way I would wear a tee without looking too casual.  I wish everyone a great week.

Patch-Patch Suede and Polka Dots

Hi Friends, I'm back again. I mentioned in my last post which was actually published yesterday that I was having a fun time. Well, the fun continues as you can see...:-). While I was browsing and blogging yesterday, I visited one of my favorite blogs and saw this awesome graphic geo-patch skirt worn by Psyche of Economy of Style. Well, I remembered that I had a similar skirt in my closet which I had not worn in a long, long time. I decided to try it on today to see if it would still fit and it did snugly as you can see...hehehe. It's a tad too short now and I think it is time to get me another skirt like this because I really like the patch work design and here is where the excitement really lies.
The similar skirt worn by Psyche is by ESHAKTI and I am working with them presently to showcase one of their looks on the blog and I'll keep you posted. However, I'm seriously eyeing the ESHAKITI  piece and the fact that you can customize their pieces by adding pockets to them is just awesome.

Okay, suede is trending and this suede skirt is a win! win!!. I paired it with an old sparkly turtle neck sweater that I got from Victorias secret a while back and since the weather is almost like summer now, I just wore light stockings. The Carlos Santana boots I'm wearing is also a patch work of suede and leather haha! And then my old brown leather jacket finished the look. So, you see, fashion bloggers do wear old clothes! Some people think fashion blogging is all about buying and buying and there is little truth to that...**eyes rolling**....lol

Patch suede skirt: (old) Similar
Polka dots stockings and bracelet: LOFT
Boots: Carlos by Carlos Santana via DSW
Leather Jacket: Old
Tweed Purse: Target

My hubby who took my pictures today is making another debut on the blog. We wanted the kids to take a picture of us together but they were running around and did not care...:-). Any time the kids get to be outside when the weather is warm, it is something else.

See you again soon; I got lots of stuff to take care of now. I have been having too much fun lately and eating without care and I have started to pack on all the pounds I lost not too long ago. I have got to start my diet and work out routine again. Our body is the temple of the Holyspirit and we got to take care of it.
