How to style leather for Fall

One of the biggest fashion trend this fall is leather. Of course, leather makes a comeback every fall but this season, it makes a very big impact in fall fashion as we can already see in the retail stores. Leather dresses, skirts and tops in different colors is the deal right now. This post is a throwback of some of the ways I have styled leather on the blog. Happy reading, happy styling.

Wine color sweater + leather Skirt

These pictures are old pictures I took some time ago when the pandemic was raging hence the mask accessory.  A quick look at my outfit here; I am wearing a burgundy monochrome outfit; wine color sweater, burgundy color pencil skirt and boots. Our spring in Minnesota is cold though not as cold as our winter season and sweaters and boots are still part of my wardrobe pretty much at this time. The boots are from Sole Society. and the bag is my own vintage; an old piece from my closet. Haha! 😀 Thanks for stopping by.

One more way to style leather this Season

Who is looking forward to spring? I am! 😀 I am so looking forward to warmer temperatures. Thankfully, the snow has melted a bit in my neighborhood  except for some patches here and there and it don't look like we are getting any more snow any time soon; time to put the long coats away. Haha!

I am starting to think I'll have to rent a storage space for my winter coats because my storage room at home is already full or probably it's time to start selling some of them off on pre-loved sites. Anywhoo, this piece here is not going anywhere in a long time cos' I intend to hang onto it for as long as I can; definitely one of my favorite coats!

Wearing all black outfit and my reaction to January 6th

I hope everything is going great. Thanks so much for stopping by here and happy new year once more. In this post, I am wearing an all-black leather outfit which is very edgy and chic in my opinion. I love wearing my leather pieces as a monochromatic look sometimes like I did in this previous post here.  This time, I broke up the all black look by adding a white turtle neck top.

How to style Leather: Outfit inspiration

Leather is a huge trend this fall and if you have never loved leather pieces, this might be a good time or season to rethink your style or taste in wardrobe. There are so many pieces or items made from leather in various price points from different retailers; high and low and you will definitely find something that you like. Leather fabric is great for the season and would elevate any piece of clothing that is is paired with, if styled right. Gone are the days when the only piece of leather clothing we all owned was a boring piece of leather moto jacket.

How to style: Leather Midi skirt

Ó¨ne of my favorite trends for this fall season is the leather trend; it is just so chic and elegant. I have always loved a good pencil leather skirt because it is so versatile. It can be styled with almost any top based on the season and it will still look elegant. In this collage, I decided to pair the pencil skirt with a light colored or off white turtle neck because it enables the skirt to be the main focus of the outfit. A dark colored sweater would be great too but it would not elevate the skirt for Fall as much as the lighter color does. The darker color sweater or top pairing should be reserved for the winter months. A great pair of brown boots elevates the look even more while keeping other accessories very simple. Thanks so much for viewing and happy styling.

Blue leather Skirt and other unique accessories

A blue leather skirt is very unique and edgy because the color is not so common when it comes to leather skirts; no wonder this blue cotton blend A-line leather skirt sells for $450 and it is not even authentic leather! The skirt is really classy though, again, mostly for the color and style. I paired the skirt with a black and white statement sweater, white sock boots, blue woven Cult Gaia bag and neon earrings. Each of these statement pieces, though different colors, complement the blue skirt nicely. In a different outfit, all these different accessories coming together would have been too busy and mismatched; here; the accessories add lots of texture and interest to the outfit. Happy viewing, happy styling.

How to style an "All-black" Outfit

So, when is the best time to wear an "all-black' outfit if not now; in the winter? The snow might not have come down yet but the cold has crept in and the layered outfits have started to come out of the closet. My faux-fur leather skirt is from Loft, my  turtle neck sweater is so old that I do not even remember what store I got it from, over the knee boots are an old purchase from the Altuzarra and Target collaboration from three years ago. My bracelet is thrifted and my faux-fur vest is an old purchase from Forever 21. Phew! 😅 Can you remember all the items I just listed? Yes! that is the key or tip to styling an all black look; you just throw all the textures together; leather,

Green Leather Skirt and pumpkin Color Shirt

Hello friends, I hope we are enjoying this month thus far; October is my birth month so, I'm always super excited everyday in the month of October; yep! I'm so thankful to God for his love and protection on me. I wore this color-block look sometime in Spring and because it is flashback Friday in the social media world, I decided to share the look today. More so, the color in the outfit is a nod to the Fall season.

The green leather skirt; I have had for years and the button down long sleeved top was purchased last summer from Coldwatercreek. Somehow, I always thought this green leather skirt was difficult to style and aside from pairing it with the basic white and black colors, I never really thought of other ways of styling it until I did this pairing. There are so many other pairings I am looking forward to doing with this leather skirt now.

Skirt: Ann taylor (old) / Top: Coldwatercreek / pumps: Colin Stuart (old) / Bag: Jessica Simpson

Do you have a clothing item in your closet that you feel is difficult to style? and what other ideas aside from the obvious black and white and polka dot and plaid pairing do you have for this leather skirt? Please, share...
