Vacation Style: Brown tiered Dress + Summer Bag

       Vacation style equals simple and effortless style. You do not want to fuss over your outfits when you are on vacation. My go to style is always a dress. A dress is the most versatile piece in your vacation wardrobe because underneath the dress, you can wear your bikini or one-piece swimsuit if you are going to be on the beach. I purchased this dress on sale from JCPenney and I just love the color and tiered style. I paired it with a burlap graphic bag from Amazon and Alina Sandals which is a somewhat dupe of the Chloe slides. Thank you for reading.

        Father's Day is a few days away and if you are still thinking of what to get the Fathers or Father figures in your life, this gift guide can be an inspiration. Shirts have always been high on the list of gifts for fathers and if you can afford it, jackets, sport coats or other clothing attire (so long as you know the right size) is even better. Swimming truncks is another gift option that is highly thoughtful and would come in handy for any vacation or get away where the beach or pool would be part of the fun.

       Vests have been trending for a while now and I couldn't wait to style this thrifted vest I have had in my closet for a while. I love the high neck and the bold contrasting colors on this piece. I paired it with an equally old, distressed denim skirt I have had for a very long time. I completed the look with a pair of red square toe sandals and a white clutch, a very simple look. What say you about the vest trend? The eighties style is back!

How to style Vests for casual event

     

      Vests trending and I am willing to try out the trend. It does not hurt to add a couple of masculine pieces to a feminine wardrobe. However, this is a trend that is not going to be around for too long in my opinion so let's not get too crazy about it okay? 😁 I am offering some casual styling ideas in this post and you can make changes to the ensemble as you please. For example, I would switch out the pants for a pair of shorts. Happy viewing, happy styling.

African print Dress + Green Sandals

       African print outfits are finding their way into big retail stores faster than ever before and one of the big designers that I am loving currently is The Oula Company. They have their collection presently at Nordstrom and other big retailers. The collection is beautiful, stylish and colorful and I really like this convertible mini dress  which is similar to what I am wearing in this post. My dress which is from a different designer, was gifted to me by my friend's Mom who traveled to Ghana. The dress can be worn over the shoulders as well.

       Summer is the time for events and celebrations and the time for statement sandals and shoes. We missed out on a lot of celebrations and events last year due to the pandemic but things look pretty bright this summer now that things have stated to open up.  I am sharing some of my favorite styles of summer sandals in this post.       Are you looking into adding some color into your spring wardrobe yet? Spring is always about colors and light pieces. The color I am addig to my wardrobe this year is purple or lavender. I have always loved purple and have added so many pieces into my wardrobe over the years. Now, it's all about mixing amd matching my pieces and accessories.

    This here, is another wish list for the summer different from the one previously posted here. This second wish list is more like an outfit inspiration for a Getaway or for a vacation. Everything on this list is pretty affordable too. I have always admired the Saint Laurent River Gauche tote but the price is just too steep and since it is such a trendy bag, I didn't think it is worth the investment. In a few years, it would be out of the scene and we would be on to something else.

      So, I got this knit dress from Lulus last fall and I really love it. It's soft and comfotable and I love the midi length. It has about three or four rows of buttons at the back that is not featured in these photos. My only problem with the dress is that it is lighter in color than I thought. The pictures on the website showed it as a darker brown color on the model.

Happy Mother's Day + My Eshakti knit Dress

 

      Knit dresses are my favorite kind of dresses at this time of the year and I love it when they are very dressy like this piece from Eshakti. I wanted to wear a floral dress for Mother's Day but changed my mind last minute and went for this dark navy blue midi knit dress instead. I like that it is structured and yet comfortable because the fabric is very soft and plush. Then, I love that it has pockets! Dresses with pockets is always a win, win in my book 😀
