        Wishing everyone joy, happiness and health this new month of August 💯 The year is gradually getting to the end. Can we talk about the heat wave though! I hope everyone of you is keeping cool. My outfit today is not the best to beat the heat because of the color; black colors absorb heat as we know. However, the fabric and style of the dress is great for keeping cool while still staying stylish in this hot summer weather.

        This summer has been very hot so far; the heat wave is what I am talking about; I am not talking about hot girl summer vibes 😆 My summer outfits at this time include, denim shorts, white tank tops and white tees because light colored fabrics do well in keeping off the heat. And then there is the blazer; a cotton or linen blazer is a must-have even on a hot summer day.

Summer Essentials: Denim Skirt + button-down Shirt

 

        Denim is an essential in my closet any season and denim skirt is even more so especially in the summertime. This season, the button-down shirt has a "bread and butter" relationship with denim with great styling options; you either tuck it in all the way, do the half tuck or the hem ties.

10 years on the Blog! Happy Anniversary to me!!

         Ten years...it's ten years here on the blog! Unbelievable but so, so true 😀 My actual anniversary was in March. So, it's technically 10 years and counting. I must say though that my blog has been in private setting since Spring of 2020. Yes, when the whole world shut down, I shut down my little space on the internet too because I just wasn't feeling it. The desire to blog just diminished.

July 4th Outfit Inspiration: Straw bag + Espadrilles

 

           July 4th celebration involves barbeques and picnics and time spent on the beach or just outdoors and usually in holiday themed outfit. These collages here provide last minute outfit ideas if you are still on the fence on what to put together. They are blue and white outfits sans the red. 

You can add the red color piece to the collage by switching out accessories. For example, you can attach a red scarf to the straw bag instead of the blue scarf or you could add a pair of red earrings. A little bit of red would keep the whole outfit classy and on theme rather than wearing too much red and looking like a tomatoe and of course if that is how you choose to dress up for the holiday, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. Summer Floral Dress + Straw Bag

              Another floral dress on the blog today; I have been wearing a lot of them lately and that is mostly because I wore mostly solids all through past winter and I feel like I need to take a break. The last time I wore florals in the winter or cold season, I blogged about it here. Now back to this maxi dress I purchased from Boohoo a couple of years ago and have worn a couple of times and about two times already this summer.

The print, color and style of this maxi dress is beautiful, and the quality of the fabric is great compared to a couple of pieces I have bought from Boohoo before which had very low quality and had to be returned. I styled the dress with a pair of tassel earrings for some statement effect and completed the look with my trusted rattan clutch and a white belt to cinch the waist, plus a pair of heels. How to elevate a floral dress: Statement earrings + Statement Clutch

   

      My summer style includes lots of dresses which are usually easy to wear and easy to style. In order to elevate my dresses, I try to accessorize with colorful accessories, and I did that in this outfit by wearing blue color statement earrings from J Crew and a blue color woven pouch. The red square toed sandals, similar here are my go-to sandals this season and my red floral dress is an old purchase from Eshakti. Thanks so much for stopping by here.

           4th of July is almost here and if you need some outfit inspiration on what to wear to the Barbeque party at the backyard or what to wear to the park, look no further. Wedding Style: Floral Dress + clear belt

 

Wedding season is here; summer weddings, that is and one of my favorite piece to wear to weddings and bridal events is a dress. In this post, I restyled this bold floral dress previously styled here into a shorter dress with the use of rubber bands which I used to make loops around the waist then I tucked the dress over the loops and cinched a clear belt over it. 

Why go through the trouble? you might ask...Well, it's all for fun. It's so much fun when I am able to restyle pieces from my closet for different occasions. A white pair of sandals, sunglasses and red statement earrings completed the look. I hope to do more restyling from my closet henceforth. Thanks so much for reading.
