Splurge or Save? Summer Savings at

   One / Two / Three / Four

We are almost in the dog days of summer, and the stores are in the process of changing out their inventory to Fall hence the sales and discounts that are going on presently. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale might be the most popular one but do not overlook stores like H&M. I was at a store recently and found some great pieces on sale and wanted to share some favorites that I put on my wish list on the blog.

Summer Floral Dress + Straw Bag

Another floral dress on the blog today; I have been wearing a lot of them lately and that is mostly because I wore mostly solids all through past winter and I feel like I need to take a break. The last time I wore florals in the winter or cold season, I blogged about it here. Now back to this maxi dress I purchased from Boohoo a couple of years ago and have worn a couple of times and about two times already this summer.

The print, color and style of this maxi dress is beautiful, and the quality of the fabric is great compared to a couple of pieces I have bought from Boohoo before which had very low quality and had to be returned. I styled the dress with a pair of tassel earrings for some statement effect and completed the look with my trusted rattan clutch and a white belt to cinch the waist, plus a pair of heels. Floral dresses and rattan or straw bags are like bread and butter; they go well together. Thanks so much for reading. I wish you all of God's blessings in the new month 💯

Summer in style: Graphic Tees

à¤½o, we all know all that has been going on in the United States this summer and no, I am not talking about Covid 19, the ongoing pandemic. I am talking about the protests and civil unrest following the murder of George Floyd by a Minneapolis police Officer. The incident happened here in my city and really hits home for me. I know the whole world was enraged at what happened and rightly so. We all have to condemn evil when we see it. We can all lend our voices to this national dialogue but must do it in a peaceful and civil way. I have not been able to attend a peaceful protest but can lend my voice and support to a peaceful dialogue. While you think of other ways in joining this national dialogue to end Police brutality and Racism, you can enjoy these looks I put together here. Thanks so much for reading.

How to style: Maxi Dress

The Maxi dress is such a huge trend this summer and I know styling it for casual event is easy-breezy. If you want to glamorize a simple maxi dress, here is some inspiration for you. Pair the dress with a pair of statement earrings like the drop or chandelier earrings and a statement bag and a pair of cute mules and you are good to go.

White Bodysuit + Yellow Skirt

Every woman should own a body suit especially if you work in a formal work place and wear a lot of formal or corporate outfits; gone are those days of shabby "tucked-in" outfits. A bodysuit shirt or blouse stays in place and keeps your outfit neat and chic. And don't be scared of the "Jumpsuit-bathroom-dilema" because most bodysuits are like little kids' onesies. You can just snap out of them when you need to use the ladies' room. I scored this white piece from the Victorias Secret Catalogue years ago and I loved it so much that I got it in a couple other colors. The pleated skirt is from Loft and the camo print sandals are an old purchase from GoJane. Thanks for visiting.

Pleated Skirt + Platform Sandals

I am wearing this rainbow prints pleated skirt I purchased from Loft last summer and I paired it with a sleeveless white top and block heel platform sandals. The straw bag has become the number one summer accessory and I have been carrying this particular one a lot this summer. I like that it can be worn with casual or dressy outfits. The rainbow color trend has been on the scene this summer too and it's a fun way to add tons of color into your summer wardrobe. I hope you all are having a great summer so far. Thanks so much for stopping by here.

Lilac button down shirt and white denim Pants

Happy Friday; I hope the week has been going great for you. It is with much excitement that I get to post another lilac color post on the blog today. I really love the lilac color trend more so, because it is in the same color family as my favorite color purple. For my Friday casual style, I wore this lilac color button down shirt or blouse that I have had for years; paired it with white denim pants, an oversized tote and camouflage (camo) prints sandals previously blogged about here. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a blessed and beautiful weekend.

Summer Chic bags and how to style them 2

                                                               Circular and semi circular
                                                     Straw Bags...

Summer is fast approaching and it is time to reorganize the closet and get out the accessories as we should do at the beginning of every season. One of the popular accessory this summer is the circular or semi circular straw bag. These bags are different from the straw totes that were trending at this same time last year. If you are not sure what I mean, take a look at these bags here and here and here.  The straw bags are smaller this season and are more like satchels and little round bags and in some variation, they are square shaped. Instead of the graphics, pompoms and tassels that were on the straw bags last year, we will be seeing buckles and straps on straw bags this season like this design here. And if there are going to be pompoms, they would be smaller and dainty. Styling these circular bags

Summer trend: Straw bag

So, you must have started seeing them everywhere; the summer "it-bags" aka straw bags. There is the very popular ark bag from Cult Gaia which looks picture perfect on blogs and on Instagram. I do not own this bag yet but I did create some sets on how I would style the ark  bag if I had one in addition to the regular straw bag which before now was just reserved exclusively for the beach.

I would style the ark bag with a pair of fancy sunglasses and a romper and a pair of mules to go on a picnic or summer cook-out or barbecue. I would also style it with an-off-the shoulder dress which come to think of it, it's just like "peanut butter
