   ऽo, we all know all that has been going on in the United States this summer and no, I am not talking about Covid 19, the ongoing pandemic. I am talking about the protests and civil unrest following the murder of George Floyd by a Minneapolis police Officer. The incident happened here in my city and really hits home for me. I know the whole world was enraged at what happened and rightly so. We all have to condemn evil when we see it. We can all lend our voices to this national dialogue but must do it in a peaceful and civil way. I have not been able to attend a peaceful protest but can lend my voice and support to a peaceful dialogue. Summer Style Outfit Inspiration: Flowy Dresses

            ᗪresses are summer staples and basic essentials when the temperature starts to go up. Although, flowy dresses are a big trend every summer, there is a new twist to it every season. Last summer, they were just flowy and the year before that, they were off-the-shoulders and cold shoulder and now, they are puffy sleeved. This set here features a beautiful pink floral dress from Farfetch accessorized with square toed sandals which is a huge trend this summer.          Ⴈ love it when trends recycle because it makes fashion more exciting and it's good for our wallets. The puffy sleeve is one of such trends that has recycled over the years. I purchased this polka dots blouse from Loft a couple of years ago, previously worn here. And to think that it's become a huge trend (puffy sleeves) two years later shows that fashion trends are really like revolving doors. I styled the blouse this time with a pair of white denim pants, green beaded earrings and my Bottega Veneta inspired mules and pouch bag which are my favorite summer accessories. Quarantine List: Things to do while under quarantine

 

         Quarantine life is our new normal; what can we say? The medical experts say it is necessary to slow down the spread of the coronavirus epidemic and also not to overwhelm our hospitals and health sector. The situation in New York is really scary right now; I pray that it turns round for the better very soon. I have been glued to the TV watching all the reports and following all the updates about this epidemic and I would share my thoughts little by little on each post on the blog from now onwards. 

I know this is a fashion blog but it would be totally tone deaf not to mention what is going on in the world right now. I wrote out plans or check-lists on things to do while under quarantine and would like to share my list with you on here. The most important thing is to spend time with our family and loved ones safely while we pray and hope for healing and miracle.

What I want this Spring - Spring Wish List

            Ꚃhopping can be a form of therapy if done wisely and intentionally with great planning and this is why I like to have a wish-list or guide for every season. Since we are all spending more time at home now, it is a great time to shop for some home essentials. The first item on my list is a Bible. I believe now is a good time to get a new Bible in print to use for daily devotion/meditation. The world is presently in chaos due to the Covid-19 crisis and studying the bible and praying can be healing for our mental health at this time. I agree there are tons of Bible and Bible study Apps out there but their ease of use (on mobile devices) also defeat their benefit or purpose. We can start out studying on our Bible App and before we know it, we drift unto social media 😊 (funny but true) The items on my list also make for great gifts to family and friends

Tips to getting good rest + Casual style

          Ͳhe importance of sleep and rest at this time cannot be overemphasized. In order for our minds and body to feel great, we need to eat well balanced diet, get enough rest and get good exercise. The pics I am sharing in this post were taken on my last vacation to Florida last year. My family went on a fun trip to Disney world and it was so much fun all the way.

We spent a whole day on rides taking in the beautiful sounds and sights of the park.  Then we spent the rest of our trip at a couple of beaches in Tampa and Clearwater and came back home refreshed. This time, we are not able to go on trips or vacation as a result of the Covid-19 Pandemic but it is very important that we get good rest and clear our minds even if we have to do it "Staycation style."

My Wish-List for Mother's Day

               𐌼y Mother's Day wish List this year can also be a Gift Guide for you if you need some inspiration on what to get the young ladies/Mothers in your life. Gift giving is the main way we would all be celebrating this year as we practice social distancing and stay home under quarantine. First on my list is this puff-sleeved pink cotton dress from H&M. It is a lounging outfit that is comfy enough to wear while eating take-out at home with our close family and it would also make a great outfit paired with this color-block strappy sandals when it is finally time to socialize with others again. Face masks are very essential accessories right now and would make great gifts for family and friends.
