Ͳhe importance of sleep and rest at this time cannot be overemphasized. In order for our minds and body to feel great, we need to eat well balanced diet, get enough rest and get good exercise. The pics I am sharing in this post were taken on my last vacation to Florida last year. My family went on a fun trip to Disney world and it was so much fun all the way.
We spent a whole day on rides taking in the beautiful sounds and sights of the park. Then we spent the rest of our trip at a couple of beaches in Tampa and Clearwater and came back home refreshed. This time, we are not able to go on trips or vacation as a result of the Covid-19 Pandemic but it is very important that we get good rest and clear our minds even if we have to do it "Staycation style."
Plan your Staycation
Plan your staycation like you would plan a vacation. Plan to spend a few days resting and relaxing like you would do on a regular vacation and set up a budget also. If you want to do it during the week, make sure you clear your calendar and do not have any work or school activities planned or scheduled for that time. If you plan to have your staycation during the weekend, you still need to clear your weekend calendar and ensure that you can spend the whole Saturday doing the things that would give your mind and body a mental break. Do all your laundry and house hold chores during the week. If you plan to have your staycation as a family, make sure everyone does their scheduled work and chores during the week to ensure everyone can spend time together over the weekend.
Schedule and Plan your Staycation Activities.
Plan all the activities you would like to do during the time but make sure it involves social distancing because you want to be safe and healthy at the end of the day. If you need to order food to be delivered to you the whole time, make sure you call ahead to all your favorite restaurants and ensure that you are going to have everything you need delivered to you on time. Set out board games and have a list of movies ready to go. Also have fun activities planned out for the kids to do and enjoy. If you plan to spend most of the time sleeping in, then make sure you have clean sheets on your beds and great music on your playlist. It also helps to have nice smelling candles around to burn in the evening but whatever you do, let your safety be a top priority. You can also include friends into your staycation schedule via Video calls and Zoom calls because social interaction is very important too.
