Quarantine life is our new normal; what can we say? The medical experts say it is necessary to slow down the spread of the coronavirus epidemic and also not to overwhelm our hospitals and health sector. The situation in New York is really scary right now; I pray that it turns round for the better very soon. I have been glued to the TV watching all the reports and following all the updates about this epidemic and I would share my thoughts little by little on each post on the blog from now onwards.
I know this is a fashion blog but it would be totally tone deaf not to mention what is going on in the world right now. I wrote out plans or check-lists on things to do while under quarantine and would like to share my list with you on here. The most important thing is to spend time with our family and loved ones safely while we pray and hope for healing and miracle.

Walking: This is a very important activity to do at this time. If you have never liked walking or never had time to walk, now is the time to give it a second thought. It is a good form of exercise; cheap (no equipment needed except for good walking shoes) and highly beneficial. Start out by walking a mile around your neighborhood in the morning or evening time. Walking is very good for the mind because you can get in some fresh air after being stuck in the home all day as a result of the quarantine, you get some exercise that lead to health benefits and it is also a fun activity to do together as a family. If you live alone, it is still okay to walk while keeping a safe distance from others.
Bicycling: Gyms and exercise centers are closed at this time but we still need to keep up with our exercise and fitness routine and bicycling is a way to do so. Research shows that sales of bikes are specially up at this time as many people are choosing cycling as a form of exercise. It is also an activity you can do alone, with your spouse or with your kids.
Movies at home: The one good thing that this "stay at home order" gave everyone, is "time." And before I start on this, I would like to say a big "Thank-you" to all the essential workers out there who are putting in all the work to keep the rest of us safe and sane at this difficult time. So, if you are not commuting to work, you probably have more time on your hands and a good activity is watching movies at home. If you never had cable subscription, there are a couple new cable providers out there that are cheaper and more convenient for most budgets and a lot of streaming channels. I have been spending time in the evenings watching family movies with my family. It is a good way to relax after spending hours homeschooling during the day.
Cooking: Cooking comes easy for some and for others, it is a real struggle. If it is something you enjoy, now is the time to try out more recipes and get better at the skill. For others, who struggle in the kitchen, this is a good time to experiment and get better at the art. It is also a good activity to do with your spouse or your kids. My kids and I have been having great time trying out new recipes in the kitchen.
Remodeling and DIYs: If you have home projects you have been putting off for a while or DIY projects you would like to do, now is the time to try your hands at it. 'Think painting, re-arranging furniture, upcycling of household items and even yard work and landscaping.
