Let it Snow: The Reason for the Season

A very Merry Christmas to you and thanks for stopping by here on Christmas eve 😀 Christmas in the air. This is my favorite holiday of the year and I am sure it is yours too. I scheduled this post on the blog ahead of time just in case any one drops by. I have been busy behind the scenes the past few days shopping for gifts for family members and friends and planning holiday activities. My little baby boy  turns five tomorrow and I am so excited. He is the best Christmas gift ever. I was born on October 31st and growing up, I always felt uneasy sharing my birthday information because I felt it was weird because of the Halloween holiday. And of course, I used to get compliments and winks whenever I shared the info. but I do not celebrate Halloween.  And whenever I planned activities or a party for my birthday, it used to feel awkward especially when I celebrated my party the actual day as opposed to celebrating a few days later.

When God blessed me with a Christmas baby, I was ecstatic because of all the  joy and happiness associated with the Christmas holiday. There is no mixed feelings, no tricks, no ghosts or ill will associated with Christmas. The holiday is all about Love and giving and sharing and most of all, it is all about Christ; Jesus Christ, the reason for the season. God sent his holy son to man in the flesh to redeem us from our sins by dying on the cross and resurrecting on the third day to heaven in order that we might all gain the gift of salvation and eternity when we believe in him and in God the Father who sent him and who created us all. 🙏 Do you believe in Christ Jesus? If you do, you are blessed. And if you don't, stay on here a while for future posts, let's chat and talk about this precious gift of salvation.

The shoes you need to style your holiday Outfit

Still trying to get the right accessories to make your holiday outfit pop? Look no further because glitter pumps or sandals is what you need to elevate any outfit and add that sparkle to your holiday look. Above is a selection of affordable glitter heels that you can pair with almost any outfit. There is so much spending this holiday season but caution needs to be exercised as we decide on what we want versus what we need. You might want that very sparkly sequin or gold dress to wear to a holiday party whether it is Christmas or New year eve party but if the dress is way too expensive and would  cut deep into your budget, you might want to opt for a pair of glitter heels instead that cost way less. Just look for an inexpensive LBD (little black dress) and dress it up with a pair of beautiful glitter heels and some sparkly earring and a simple clutch and you are good to go. You'll save money and still look stylish at the same time. Happy viewing and happy styling.

Holiday Lookbook: Blazer + Faux fur Stole

Happy Thursday Friends 😃 I'm here today with another holiday look; a casual outfit featuring holiday accessories. Most of the time, we ladies, spend too much money buying new outfits for the holiday season when we have a closet full of clothes and I must say I am guilty of this too. I always feel like I need something new and do not want to wear my last holiday season outfits again this year. This time, I decided to reduce the stress of shopping for new outfits (although I have my eyes on this beautiful skirt here)  to put new holiday outfits together from pieces and accessories that I already own in my closet and that is how this look came about. This outfit is a look you can wear to casual holiday parties; you know the one that is not so formal; maybe a Christmas party hosted by your friends or an after work Christmas dinner with your co-workers. The foundation for this outfit; a blazer, a pair of blue denim and a white top are clothes or pieces that we already own in our closet. I used holiday or special occasion accessories; the sparkly belt, silver metallic heels, a faux fur stole and sequin metallic clutch to add a holiday touch to the outfit. The statement earrings were purchased on sale at Target over the summer and the statement belt was purchased from Asos and blogged about here. What other casual holiday event do you think this outfit is appropriate for? I think if you switch out the denim for regular dress pants, this outfit would definitely go to several events and even to a very special place, the Church. Thank you so much for stopping by.

Holiday Lookbook: Sequin Skirt + Floral Pumps

A sequin skirt is an essential holiday piece because you can create several outfits with it. This pencil sequin mesh skirt from Chico's has since sold out but there are other designs available like this piece here and this beautiful metallic piece here. When it comes to styling sequin pieces, the styling options are quite versatile. For this look, I paired my skirt with a short sleeve turtle neck top from Boohoo and floral pumps with jewel embellishments; a pair I purchased years ago. A pair of disc earrings  and a bracelet and velvet envelope clutch similar here completed the look. This look is a mix of textures; sequins, velvet and floral which embodies the Christmas spirit; the coming together of families and friends to celebrate birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Jesus is the reason for the season everyone. This look can be worn to any informal event like a Christmas party, dinner date or any other holiday gatherings. For a more formal look, throw on a blazer and you are good to go.

How I styled my Christmas Sweater

Hi Friends, I hope the week is going great so far. I had a bit of technical glitch on the blog that I just found out a few hours ago. I wrote and scheduled my Monday post last week hoping that it went live on Monday morning but was surprised when I logged in today and found out that the post did not publish and I had to publish it manually today. So, if you stopped by my blog yesterday and did not see any post for Monday, I apologize. I did some investigation and I found out that it was my own error; I scheduled the post without hitting the "publish button" so it remained as a draft instead of "auto-publish." If you've noticed, I have published a post every day for the past months and I also have posts scheduled every day for the rest of the year. I do not have any sponsored posts or campaigns on my blog presently; all my outfits are from my own closet so, I can publish my posts any time even if I have to do it retrospectively. Sponsored posts usually go with schedules and deadlines which can be just as hectic as having a regular job sometimes. My blog is my personal style diary and I do everything at my own pace which I totally love and enjoy. Thank you so much for your readership and support on here. I don't know if I can still do daily blog posts next year but we'll see how it goes...

Work wear Monday: What to wear to Work in the Holiday Season

Grey and black are my favorite colors to wear in the cold weather season and also my favorite color combination for work wear. For this look, I wore a regular work wear; a grey pant suit with black color turtle neck top. I purchased the pant suit a couple of summers ago from The Limited and my top is a recent purchase from Boohoo. The top went on sale recently and I purchased up to five colors. The quality is great and it was such a good discount. High neck, turtle neck or roll neck tops are essential pieces to have in the fall and winter season because they not only keep you warm, they are stylish as well. To add a little holiday style to my work wear, I completed my look with a pair of black glitter sock ankle boots which really did not photograph well. My hubs gifted the boots to me last Christmas and they are definitely my favorite pair of boots right now. The glitter boots or pumps is a fun way to add a holiday accessory into your work wear. A faux croc embellished bag made this look office ready. Have a blessed week.

How to style a leopard prints skirt for a holiday Party

The first thing that came to my mind when I saw this No. 21 pleated leopard prints skirt online was Christmas party. The beige color of the skirt with the red color contrast hem is so edgy and festive. I paired the skirt with a beige color or oatmeal color sweater with waist ties and black floral brooch. The red color beret complements the skirt nicely and the red color Staud bucket bag and black open toe Gianvito Rossi ankle boots elevates the edginess of the outfit. To recreate this look with budget friendly pieces, check out the links below.

Shoe Lovin' - Glitter Satin Pumps

It is the season of sparkly and glitter and this pair of Jimmy Choo glitter pumps would add all the sparkles and shine you need to a holiday outfit. I love the iridescent color of the pumps which makes it great to pair with almost any outfit. Glitter pumps are special occasion shoes that can be worn to parties and events like weddings, showers, the whole year through and at the end of the year, they can become our favorite holiday shoe. At close to $800 a pair, these shoes are pretty expensive but the best time to snag a pair is during this holiday season when big designer stores give discounts or shopping points to their customers. A similar design is currently on sale at the Farfetch website here and low price replicas can be purchased  from smaller brands like this d'Orsay design on the Macy's website and this pair from Kate Spade. Happy shopping, happy styling.

Styling a Leather Skirt for the Holiday

Leather skiers might not be a huge trend this fall, they are however a closet staple, an essential of some sorts. I scored this pencil leather skirt off of Loft a few years ago and love to restyle it over and over in the cold weather months. My favorite way of styling my leather skirt in the fall or winter is by pairing it with boots. When I want to tone down the edginess of the leather skirt, I throw in some faux faux in the form of a shawl, vest or bag. For this look here, I layered a turtle neck sweater into my leather pencil skirt, threw on my leather Altuzarra boots which actually adds to the edginess of the skirt and added my faux fur vest which toned everything down. When I got too warm, I rolled up my faux fur vest (which I purchased from Forever 21 years ago) into a ball and just carried it in my arms like a clutch. So, if you are styling your leather pieces for the holiday, mixing in warm and fuzzy accessories with it would make it holiday chic. Aside from faux fur shawl and scarfs, a good quality felt hat is a great idea too. I also like this Topshop teddy faux fur bucket bag here. Check out the other blog post I made of this outfit here.
