Pink puffy sleeve dress: My favorite Summer trend

Ξ€his pink puffy sleeve dress was on my wish list for Mother's day this year and I'm really glad I was able to get it considering the fact that it was in huge demand at all HM locations and quickly sold out. The puffy sleeve which is my favorite summer trend by the way and the pink bold color and free flowing style of this dress just makes it the perfect lounging piece to wear and just lounge at home over the weekend. I styled the dress with my dark pink beaded earrings from Jcrew and multi color sandals from DSW. The straw bag which I have had for a while completed the look. I look forward to styling this piece again in the fall. Thanks so much for visiting.

                       One / Two / Three / Four / Five / Six / Seven / Eight / Nine / Ten

α‹arlier, I shared a post on what I would love to shop from the Nordstrom anniversary sale and while I have not yet made any purchase, I would love to share these updated lists or guide(s) that I put together after perusing the site. In my previous guide, I shared some items for home dΓ©cor but this guide is just for fashion pieces. Lug soled boots and square toed boots are going to be big trends this fall and so is the leather blazer. While you peruse the sale, do not forget to order your face mask; happy viewing, happy shopping.

Nordstrom Sale Shopping Ideas

                                        One / Two / Three / Four / Five / Six / Seven

π₯ordstrom is having its' annual sale and if you need some shopping therapy, you can check it out. I think the sale is currently open to Nordstrom or Nordy Club members who get exclusive early access before the general public. These items on my shopping guide are what I'm interested in buying at the moment and I decided to share on here as I always do 😊 Disclaimer: Please, I am not trying to turn you into a shopaholic; this blog is solely for entertainment and if you are a regular reader here, you must know that by now.

National thrift shop day: Four reasons why I thrift

π‚eal fashion or style cannot fully be achieved without a mix of high and low pieces and this is the main reason, the very reason why every one should consider thrifting or consignment shopping followed by sustaining and protecting the earth. Even high end designers and stylists do thrifting or flea market shopping or vintage shopping or consignment shopping. Whatever you decide to call it, or how you decide to do it does not matter; it is just important that you consider it. These days, you do not have to go to a physical store like Goodwill to thrift as there are so many thrift stores online like Thred - Up, Porshmark or the The Real Real. Today is "National thrifting day" and I would love to share with you the four reasons why I thrift.

How to style Pink Monochrome Look in the Summer

π™ink is a color that looks good on most people when the right color pieces are worn. In order to look stylish and classy in pink, it's best to style outfits in monochrome pink shades; (that means styling pieces in different shades or tones of pink) wearing outfits in great textures and outfits with great fit. The collage above shows how to style a monochrome pink look for the summer. This look can be worn to just about any where by swapping out the pieces you don't need for the ones you want. For example, if you want to style this look as a work outfit, you can swap the off shoulder puffy sleeve blouse for a light pink blazer and you can also swap out the pink embellished mules for nude pumps and smaller or understated earrings for this bold pink pair. Happy viewing, happy styling.

The new must-have Accessory

Ο»asks are the number one accessory we just can't leave home without these days because their importance in limiting the spread of the Covid-19 virus cannot be overemphasized according to the CDC. Lately, I found use for my old scarfs by converting them into face masks like I did in these pictures. There has been so many videos made on how to convert a scarf or piece of cotton fabric into face mask without sewing and if you have not yet seen any of the videos, just do a Google or YouTube search. In this outfit, I'm wearing a chambray (light denim) dress shirt over a pair of denim shorts and a pair of slides which has somewhat become a summer uniform for me. Whenever I'm not in a cotton top and denim, I'm usually in a cotton or linen dress. For me, comfort is key this summer and since we are not going anywhere anyways, I put comfort over style. I completed the look with the hobo straw bag and I love the simple, natural look it gives to the whole outfit. This outfit can be worn to the grocery store on a hot summer day and is even great for just lounging around in the house or sitting on the porch. I hope you have found multiple use for your scarfs also this summer. Stay safe and sanitized and thanks so much for reading.

Summer Style Inspiration: Neon + Tie-Dye

𐌽ow that we are finally out of quarantine and ready to go out into the world (with social distancing and good hygiene of course) we might need some inspiration to get our fashion game going again considering the fact that we have been lounging at home for weeks in sweats and comfy pants. This neon tank top   similar here paired with tie-dye shorts and another style similar here makes a great outfit to wear to the park on a hot summer day. For a little warmth, complete the look with a white linen blazer and accessorize with neutral color straw bag and colorful slides. Happy styling and stay safe and sanitized.

Yellow floral Dress + Talking about self care

Ꮐacation is a very essential part of self care and mental health for everyone because we can take deep breaths and recharge while on vacation. Things are a lot different this year for everyone; no travel, no vacation. Usually at this time of the year, my family would have had one or two vacation. Last year, we ended our summer by taking a trip to Disney World in Florida and visited beaches in Clearwater and Tampa. The kids still talk about the trip because it was so much fun. We were hoping to have another fun vacation this year but have not been able to. Families everywhere are experiencing the same thing this year and some are planning to take road trips or have taken road trips because flying is not really safe right now. I believe every family should evaluate all the risks before they embark on activities outside of their home at this time.

Summer Wish List

ΰ¨Ήust a few things on my summer wish list to lighten the mood during this season. I'm loving this floral maxi dress from H&M  mainly because of the beautiful print and the sleeves and it sure would make for a great lounging outfit. Other things on my list are the faux plant dΓ©cor and the potting vase. Plants and gardening is (are) huge trend at the moment but if you do not have a green thumb, a faux plant is an alternative to bringing life and personality to any space. This weather resistant planter would look beautiful indoors or outdoors. The pink Badgley Mischka pumps is an affordable dupe to the Manolo Blahnik Hangisi pumps which would make for great party shoes. We might not be celebrating or going to events right now but we would get to it as soon as this pandemic is over. The jewelry and nail polish are just to help us step up our beauty routine at this time. Thanks so much for reading.

Summer in my Front-tie Shirt

α‹™ow is everyone doing? Summer is here friends! I'm so excited about the beautiful weather though I know that this summer is one like no other; for one, there is nothing much to do with everyone being in quarantine. We all have to find ways to do the things that make us happy while we fight this pandemic. For me, writing (blogging)  is helping me a lot because it is very therapeutic for me. Also, I still try to dress up even when I am home. This outfit is what I wore recently to stay home and it's actually a DIY front-tie shirt. I took an old oversized button white shirt from the closet, knotted it in front over this pair of denim and accessorized with white square toed mules and a straw bag.
