Red Sweatshirt + Red satin Skirt: Why I do not celebrate Valentine's Day

 

     Valentine's day has a beautiful meaning and intention behind it; LOVE. The celebration of LOVE is always a good thing. However, I do not celebrate valentine's day because the holiday is greatly commercialized and does not have an impactful meaning at the end of the day. The real reason for the celebration is lost in the hustle and bustle of trying to make everything perfect by spending so much money and unnecessary funds on that one special day. At the end of the day, it is the businesses; the florists, the restaurants that get the most benefits from the holiday.

     Long coats are essential winter pieces that is highly needed for cold dreary winter temperatures. If you are just starting out building a winter capsule wardrobe, it would be a great idea to get one in a neutral color like tan, beige or brown and then you can go for a bold bright color afterwards that you can wear in the spring or cooler months.

     Knit dresses have been my thing lately and not surprising since, they are very easy to style especially in the cold weather months. This black knit dress has been in heavy rotation every winter and I know it is high time I got another replacement piece because a black knit dress is an essential piece in my opinion.

Styling colored boots: Burgundy

 

     Boots are my favorite style of shoe wear after pumps and since I live in a very cold city, I do have a good stash or collection. However, I realized after going through my closet a year ago, that my boots collection was not as fun as my pumps which is made up of lots of colors and prints; florals, polka dots, animal prints...Haha! I must say the onset of the animal prints trend a couple of seasons ago, set things in motion for me and viola! my boots collection is a bit more fun. 

Wearing all black outfit and my reaction to January 6th

In this post, I am wearing an all-black leather outfit which is very edgy and chic in my opinion. I love wearing my leather pieces as a monochromatic look sometimes like I did in this previous post here.  This time, I broke up the all black look by adding a white turtle neck top.

Spring Wish List Guide

 

     Spring is still a few weeks ago but it's not too early for some closet spring cleaning and wish list. It's time to start doing some closet organizing. For me, knit dresses are a top priority to have for the spring season. This is a very quick post yet again and it is green for a reason; green symbolizes growth and growth is all we need right at this season.
