Red Sweatshirt + Red satin Skirt: Why I do not celebrate Valentine's Day

 

     Valentine's day has a beautiful meaning and intention behind it; LOVE. The celebration of LOVE is always a good thing. However, I do not celebrate valentine's day because the holiday is greatly commercialized and does not have an impactful meaning at the end of the day. The real reason for the celebration is lost in the hustle and bustle of trying to make everything perfect by spending so much money and unnecessary funds on that one special day. At the end of the day, it is the businesses; the florists, the restaurants that get the most benefits from the holiday.

I must agree that there has been a shift over the years from the commercial hype to a more personalized experience like the celebration of "Galentine" which is the celebration of valentine's day amongst girlfriends or single people. This takes away the loneliness and stress that some single people might feel during this season. What are your thoughts on Valentine's day celebration; do you go all out to celebrate or do you prefer the "Galentine" get togethers?

I am wearing another all monochromatic look which includes this red graphic sweatshirt; (an old piece from my closet), a red satin slip skirt which is another essential piece in my closet and a red coat and brown boots. I love that graphic shirts and tees can convey any message you want people to see or know and since this says "LOVE," let's continue to spread more of it with kindness. Also, let's remember God's greatest love: John 3: 16
