Camouflage Jacket + Knit Dress

eteran's Day 2020 has an added layer of appreciation and thankfulness for all those who have served and are serving this country every day. These days, a branch of our military namely "National Guards" are helping  out in the fight against Covid-19 by building field hospitals and helping with distribution of essentials. A very big "Thank-You" to all our veterans and a big "Thank-You" to all our essential workers.

In this post, I'm wearing a knit dress from Target  which is actually a free flowing maxi knit dress but I used a belt to cinch my upper midriff and tucked the dress over it to create an illusion of a cropped top and a bottom. I paired the knit dress with a camouflage jacket which is a nod to the current "Shaket" (Shirt-Jacket) trend. My brown combat boots and pouch bag completed the look. What do you think of camouflage jackets or camouflage pieces in general? Besides, we just had our second snowfall of the season a few days ago; a snow storm so early in the season. Thanks so much for reading.

Zebra print Dress + square toed heels

乙ebra prints has taken over leopard prints as a classic fall print and I must say that the print is as classy as it gets. I love the print in brown color the most but do not mind other colors as well like this blue zebra prints dress from John Lewis. It is so stylish and elegant and can be worn just about anywhere in the fall season. I also love this black color zebra prints wrap midi dress; it is just so classy and chic and the sheer texture of the fabric makes it so feminine and romantic; definitely a great dress to wear on a dinner date. Back to my dress, I accessorized the look with black square toed sandals and a simple gold cuff. I completed the look with my soft tan pouch bag from Amazon which has been my go to bag all summer. What do you think of zebra prints; yay or nay? Thanks so much for reading.

How I styled my tiered Dress

Ᏸaby doll dresses "was" a big trend this summer and I think it's partly due to their versatility. The dresses are casual enough to wear as lounge wear and they can also be dressed up with the use of accessories like belts and blazers. I purchased this orange color dress from H&M over the summer and this is how I styled it. The multi color strap sandals are from DSW while my floral bag is from Etsy. The bag is made from African fabric called "Ankara" or "Kente" and it adds a certain flair or vibe to an outfit. You can  get them in different styles and colors on the Etsy Website and remember that when you buy from small businesses on Etsy, you support someone's dream and provide income for families and households directly as opposed to supporting big corporations. If you insist on buying from big corporations, make sure it supports great causes and equal justice organizations like "Black lives Matter." Thanks so much for reading.

White Blazer + Bermuda Shorts

Ꮗhite is the best color choice for summer because it helps to beat the summer heat especially in fabrics like cotton and linen and this is why I love to wear this white cotton blazer in the summer time. I paired it with a heavily distressed pair of denim Bermuda shorts that is actually a DIY piece from this denim pant worn here. I accessorized the look with pink statement earrings and my favorite summer mules and bag; all designer inspired pieces. If you are not opposed to buying affordable designer inspired pieces and you want to check out the retailers, click on the images below. I hope you are enjoying the summer the best that you can. Shoe Lovin' : Brown studded Boots

βoots season is here and my pick for Shoe Lovin' Post this fall is this beautiful pair of Kelly pointed toe boot that is selling out fast everywhere. The western style design is so on trend this season. The boots is pull on style with 31/4 chunky, block heels. The brown stud details is very chic and unexpected and the deep brown chocolate color makes it the right color (boot) choice for the season. The boots run small so, going up a size would be the best bet especially because they are "pull ons." Happy viewing, happy shopping. Check it out HERE.

How to style: Striped Pant Suit

ϻy love love for pantsuits is deep and I cannot really explain why because I love them just as much as I love dresses. This styling collage was put together by me and shows how I would style a striped brown suit if I owned one. This look can be worn just about anywhere by switching out the accessories to fit the occasion or event that you are attending. For a more formal occasion, I would style a full monochrome look by wearing brown or nude color shoes but for a casual event, the green slingbacks is a perfect pop of color. Brown and tans are going to be a huge trend this fall and if you need more styling inspiration, check out my styling IG here. Happy viewing, happy styling.

Fall Wish List

ᗪeep brown color is the color of Fall season this year and it is trending in beautiful hues and textures; think brown leather jackets, pleated skirts and square and pointed toe boots. Styling this color for fall would be really easy too. Browns can be styled in monochrome by mixing different hues and shades of brown and if you like you can add a subtle pop of color like cream, burgundy and orange. Browns can also be styled by pairing it with beiges and tans. My wish list for fall has combination of beige and brown pieces and my favorite item on the list is actually this off white pleated leather skirt; so classy and chic. Click on the links below to check out more about the pieces.

Wine color Dress + puffy sleeves

Ⴒuffy sleeves look like a trend that would be around for a long long time and I'm not complaining. I love how stylish and modest the trend is. And like every other trend we are seeing these days, there is nothing new about this style or this trend; it's just a recycled trend from season's past and that's okay. This wine color dress is an old purchase from Loft; from two or three years ago. I love the color, the waist ties and the lace inserts on the sleeves. Certainly, the time has come to tone down the colors for the season and my favorite colors for fall are browns, beige, burgundy, orange and purple. I'll have these colors in mind as I shop for the season. What are your favorite fall colors? Thanks so much for reading.

Knit maxi dress for lounge wear

ㄥounge wear outfits have been in for a while now since we are all stuck at home during this pandemic. While the hype has been all about lounge pant and short sets, I have been loving knit dresses and have been wearing a lot of dresses. I would reserve the knit pants and pants in general for the cold season which is almost here. This green knit dress is an old purchase from Gap and it's very comfortable and feels great on the skin. This white pouch bag is a recent addition to my pouch bags. I love that it is stylish and edgy and the color is great for a subtle pop of color. Bottega Veneta did great by bringing back this dumpling, pouch bag trend along with the square toed shoe trend.  Many retailers have made more affordable inspired pieces based off of Bottegas. You can check out my previous post here if you need to shop for similar bags. Thanks so much for stopping by.

Designer Bottega Bag - Looks for less

βottega veneta bags have been trending for a while now and just like most trending pieces, we can now find inspired styles and dupes of the bag in high street retail stores and on Amazon. Some dupe versions are so close in style that it's hard to tell from a distance if it's real or dupe and others have been manufactured  with little alterations to the original version of the bag. If you are interested in snagging an inspired version of this bag for yourself, check out the selections below.
