Code Blue: Chambray Dress and Plaid Shirt

Happy Friday friends, I hope we are all doing great; I had so much fun today in this easy breezy outfit. I love simple outfits and this chambray dress was my casual look for today; a recent purchase from Boohoo. And yes, I slightly lifted my "shopping ban" just to get a few items but the ban is back on. Also, I am aware that the holidays are around the corner so shopping is not going to be just about me anymore; time to start stocking up on those Christmas and New year presents now. I'll let you know of deals and sales on the blog and I'll also put up outfit collages for the holidays just to have fun.

I cannot express enough how much I enjoy blogging and coming to this little space to chat about fashion non stop. Thanks so much for stopping by here friends; I'll be making rounds on your blogs too to catch up. It's weekend; let's spend some time giving God praise for our lives, family and friends.

Denim/Chambray Dress: Boohoo
Necklace: Jcrew
Bucket bag: Jcrew
Sandals: Calvin Klein (old)
Bracelet: Target (old)
Plaid Shirt: Jcrew

Did I mention this is my first time of doing the plaid long sleeve shirt over the waist trend? I fell in love with this Jcrew plaid long sleeve shirt the first time I saw it on the Jcrew website and I started to do all kinds of styling in my head and of course this shirt over the waist thing was my first choice. I know the trend is so overdone already but well.. I'm looking forward to other combinations with this plaid shirt this fall. 'Wishing you all of God's special blessings in the new week.

White House/Black Market Skirt

Happy Wednesday; I hope your day is shiny and bright as it is over here in my neck of the woods. I made a note to myself to feature more work outfits on the blog and I am keeping to my promise. Like I say all the time, fashion blogging to me is a hobby and I'm just trying to have fun here on the blog so I do not claim to be a professional stylist...:-).

I am wearing here an old skirt from Whit House/Black Market that I purchased a couple of years ago. This store (White House/Black Market) always fascinates me because I think the name is so cute and unique and I always ensure I visit the store whenever I am in a mall that has one. However, their items are a little steep in price and most often than not, I just "windowshop" in there. This skirt is one of the few items I have purchased from the store and I do not remember how much I paid for it but the quality and design is great. I love the embellished leaf design on the hem; very "Fallfashion"...:-).

I paired it with a black utility blouse I purchased from Loft and this pair of heels with spikes; the spiked heels are definitely not appropriate for work though. I saw a lady put on a pair of spiked flats a few days ago and that is why I dug into my closet and got mine out. So, maybe spikes are making a "Comeback?"

Blouse: Loft
Skirt: White House/Black Market (old)
Heels: Sam & Libby: Target

Mint and Pleats

Happy Monday friends; it feels so great to be posting this blogpost finally. I was super busy over the weekend and I was so tired yesterday after the church service that I went to bed early. I'm glad I was able to take these pics even with my tight schedule. I got this pleated skirt from Victorias secret over a year ago and the tank top was purchased from my neighborhood Walmart. I had a sudden realization that I could create a "dress" effect by combining both pieces and it actually worked. It's always great when fashion falls into place in such perfect harmony.

I am also very happy at the slow start of Fall in my neck of the woods. The weather is still very warm and beautiful although we have been having lots of rain. That means, I still have time to wear my summer pieces. Is the weather cooperating at your end?

Green silk on denim bell bottom

It's the month of October; "Yay!!" Happy new month of awesome blessings everyone. This is my birth month and I am planning on having a little birthday celebration this year. Also, I always get excited and giddy just knowing that it is the beginning of the last quarter of the year.

I wore this outfit yesterday to take my baby to the clinic for wellness check and I like the extra casual feel. I'm very excited too that the bell bottom trend is back on the scene; it's my favorite cut of jeans and my least favorite is the skinny jeans...hehehe..:-). However, in order not to look like I just arrived on this earth  from the sixties, I try to follow trends a bit so, I have a couple of skinny denims too.

Silk top: Vintage
Denim: Old Navy
Bag: old
Flats: Apostrophe

Do you like the "comeback" of the bell bottom pants? Your thoughts...

Polka Dotty...

Happy Monday Friends; this post is going to be short and chic!...:-). I had a very busy weekend; I attended a baby dedication party on Saturday and it was a lot of fun and on Sunday, I wore this polka dots outfit to church along with this Sophia Webster pumps that I purchased at the beginning of the summer and blogged about here. I would have loved to say more about this outfit and how polka dots print is so classy and blah! blah!! blah!!! but I won't say no more. Polka dots is so overdone already! I know you'll agree with me. Now, let's talk about something else...:-).

Blouse: Nordstrom rack
Skirt: Macys
Earrings and bracelet: Jcrew
Pumps: Sophia Webster

I stopped by at the farmers market on Sunday after church and I was actually surprised that there was a farmer's market open on Sunday. I never knew about it until my friend mentioned it and we went there together. I just decided to take the pictures at the market on the spur of the moment and I was actually surprised that no one really cared...:-). I thought I was going to get a lot of stares like you get from some people most times when you take pictures in a public place. Well, at the end, I went home with some memorable pictures and lots of fresh vegetables; haha! How do you react when people stare at you taking pictures in a public place? Your thoughts...

The little Dresses..1

The Little Denim Dress versus the Little Black Dress...

The Little Dresses

A good percentage of ladies own at least one dress in their closet; there is no doubt about that. The first color of choice of  dress for most ladies is the black dress hence the popular trend of the "LBD" aka the little black dress. However, the LBD is slowly being dethroned by the "LDD," aka the little denim dress. This classic dress has been around for ages just like its counter part, the denim jacket. Although, the denim dress cannot go to very formal occasions like the little black dress but it can go as far as you want to take it with the right accessories. Below are two styling options for this classy little dresses...

Fashion is all about having fun; it's all about communication and a form of self expression. Whatever way you choose to express yourself in your attire; formal, informal, casual; do not forget about the dresses. They do not have to be short in length to be regarded as a "little dress" but they just have to be fun, classy and chic!

Fall is here; woot! woot!! There is so much talk about fall's fashion this season and aside from those fabulous coats and booties that we see each fall;  this season, it's all about the fringe. However, we should not forget those pretty little sparkly accessories that add some extra bling to the season. Jewelry is much appreciated by most people and it's time to start thinking about those Christmas gifts. There is a jewelry sale going on right now at JCrew and Saks & Fifth.

Work Wear: A dress and a scarf 1

With my summer closet cleaning way underway, I discovered lots of clothes, shoes and bags that I have not worn in a while and a lot more with the tags still attached to them and I decided to put this stash of clothing in a new rack labelled "Must-wear." This entire outfit head to toe is from that rack and I will be posting more of these oldies on the blog henceforth. 'Surprisingly, I was able to remember the stores where most of the items came from in order to put the link on the blog.

Also, I have decided to post better variety of styles on the blog and this "Work Wear" feature is where I'll put up posts on my personal style. I have said a lot of times on the blog that I am not a fashion stylist or fashion expert but just a mom with a fashion blog/writing as a hobby. So, I'll do my best to make the work wear (outfits) fun.

Dress: Talbots
Scarf: (old) Nordstrom
Bag & Jewelry (old)
Pumps: Agaci Shoes

A scarf and a dress is my favorite take on an outfit for work especially during the fall and winter months and I have quite a collection of scarfs; some of them are high end and some are from vintage or consignment stores but the important thing is that they do add color and interest to an outfit.
I hope our week is going great so far?
